The front wheel of the heavy motorcycle beneath the burly man exploded instantly.

The unbalanced front of the car lurched violently, and the nearly 300-kilogram steel monster seemed to be drunk.

He slammed the burly man, who hadn't even had time to react, to the ground.

"Fuck!"

The burly man's leg was run over by the car, and he let out a bloodcurdling scream.

The other motorcyclists were instantly thrown into chaos.

"He has a gun! That madman has a gun!"

"Where is he?! I can't see him!"

Before they could even react...

"Bang!"

A huge tongue of fire shot out of the attic window.

That was the sound of a double-barreled shotgun.

Chen An's shot didn't hit anyone; instead, it struck the muddy ground in the middle of the group of motorcycles.

The dense barrage of deer bullets kicked up a large patch of mud and gravel.

The impact pounded against the expensive fuel tanks and windshields, scaring the thugs into running away with their heads in their hands.

"This is Sunset Creek Farm!"

In the darkness, Chen An's voice, delivered through a loudspeaker of unknown origin, descended from the sky like a judgment.

"Under Montana law, it's legal for me to smash your brains and smear them on the wall if you trespass on private property!"

"Now, you have ten seconds. Get out, or die."

"Click."

That was the sound of the second bullet being chambered.

Faced with the threat of death, so-called brotherhood is worthless.

Especially when that arrogant Easterner was lurking in the shadows, holding a large-caliber weapon.

"Go! Go quickly!"

The remaining people hurriedly helped up the leader who was being crushed and howling in pain.

They didn't even bother to pick up the broken baseball bat; they frantically started the car and drove off like stray dogs.

The Harley with the blown front tire was left standing there, becoming a trophy.

Watching the string of red taillights disappear into the intersection.

Chen An put down his gun and exhaled a breath of stale air.

"Indeed, only cannons are the truth."

He picked up his phone and sent a text message to Sheriff Reynolds:

[Illegal trespassing and attempted arson on the east side of Miller Ranch. A motorcycle was left at the scene as evidence. The perpetrators fled, heading south on Highway 93. If they aren't caught, next time I'll just shoot them in the head.]

After doing all this, Chen An glanced at the room next door.

A curtain on the second floor was quietly lifted a crack.

Sarah's pale face was revealed.

Chen An raised his hand and gave an "OK" sign.

Behind the curtains, tears streamed down those beautiful eyes.

It wasn't out of fear, but because she knew that this man was truly a "king" who could protect her from the wind and rain.

………………

At six o'clock in the morning, the fog in Montana had not yet dissipated, but the red and blue police lights were already on along Highway 93.

They're not here to arrest Chen An, but to clear their name.

Sheriff Reynolds stood in the open space in front of Chen An's house, a toothpick dangling from his mouth and his hands on his hips.

Looking down at the Harley-Davidson motorcycle whose front wheel rim had been blasted apart by a large-caliber pistol and lay lifeless on the spot.

The owner of this car was that burly man who was shouting last night.

He's probably lying in some shady clinic getting his leg treated right now, or he's already fled back to Detroit overnight.

"Tsk tsk tsk..."

Reynolds shook his head and turned to look at Chen An, who was carrying two cups of hot coffee down the steps.

"Kid, should I praise your marksmanship, or say you're crazy?"

"This is the latest Harley Fat Boy, the price after taxes and fees is $25,000. The price you paid for it is more than the down payment."

"Within my range, it's just a moving piece of metal, and an offensive one at that."

With a smile, Chen An handed one of the coffee cups to Reynolds. "Sir, is this considered self-defense?"

"After all, they brought Molotov cocktails last night. If they had thrown them at my hut, I'd probably be a charred corpse by now."

Reynolds took the coffee, took a sip, and the scalding liquid made him sigh with relief.

"Of course it counts. This is Montana, not some sissy California."

Reynolds pointed to the car on the ground, "Although that unlucky guy ran away, this car... we can't find any owner information for it, it's an unregistered car."

"So I had no choice but to drag it back to the police station as a 'tool of the crime' and destroy it."

He spoke of it casually.

The so-called "destruction" will most likely mean that the car will appear at the police station's auction after a while, or be "internally consumed" at a low price by some police officers who love their cars.

"However..." Reynolds changed the subject, his eyes behind his sunglasses becoming serious.

"Chen, you have to understand, although these guys are just thugs who do things for money, you really slapped Smith in the face this time."

"That bastard is as petty as a pinhead. If legal channels don't work, and even violent intimidation fails, he might resort to even more underhanded tactics."

"for example?"

"For example, he might cut off your water or electricity, or report your agricultural products for failing to meet hygiene standards. He's also a member of the chamber of commerce; he has plenty of ways to do things."

Reynolds patted Chen An on the shoulder, a gesture of acknowledgment between men.

"But I like the way you've got guts. If that old guy George had been half as hard as you, he wouldn't have had to live such a miserable life."

"The tow truck has arrived."

A police tow truck drove into the yard and hoisted the Harley-Davidson up like a dead dog.

Before leaving, Reynolds rolled down the car window and said something meaningful:

"By the way, all the old guys in town are talking about the gunshots last night. Your new nickname is 'China's Quick Draw'..."

"Okay, this nickname isn't very nice, but at least it shows that no one dares to bully you."

………………

After seeing the police off, Chen An turned to look at the apartment next door.

The curtains on the second floor were drawn back. Sarah was standing there, looking at him.

Their eyes met in the morning light.

Without uttering any further words, Chen An simply pointed to the red granary.

Sarah immediately nodded in understanding, a blush rising on her cheeks, and closed the window.

Ten minutes later.

At the gap in the barbed wire fence where the two houses meet, Sarah is wearing a denim jumpsuit that's practical for working.

Wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and carrying several large buckets, he jogged over.

The cargo pants were very form-fitting, especially the cinched waist design, which showed off her full hips and legs.

Although it was meant for work, her blonde hair and the sparkle in her eyes made her look more like she was shooting a Western-style magazine spread.

"What did the sheriff say?" Sarah asked nervously, putting down the bucket and naturally taking Chen An's arm.

"He said we're safe. At least those motorcyclists won't dare come anytime soon."

Feeling the soft touch on his arm, Chen An led her toward the greenhouse.

"Compared to that, how does our 'Green Gold' compare?"

"Growing like crazy. It's absolutely growing like crazy!"

Sarah's eyes lit up at the mention of this.

"Ann, that bottle of water is amazing. The plants I planted yesterday have already grown leaves, and the roots have branched out a lot more."

"At this rate, should we... expand the planting beds?"

She has now fully embraced the role of "partner".

"Of course we need to expand. We need more than just these few pounds." Chen An pushed open the greenhouse door.
