The Abyss World, the Kemono Girl Encyclopedia Project!

Chapter 13: A Heavily Indulgent Spending Spree

After receiving a large sum of money, Wang Yan recently joined the ranks of those who went out to collect herbs. Although he didn't recognize any herbs, he would try anything strange and unusual that he saw. As a result, he discovered quite a few herbs and earned more than 6,000 points in a week.

This is also a learning process. By adding some medicinal herbs into the system, he can see the specific information about these herbs, such as Dendrobium, Polygonum multiflorum, Panax notoginseng, and other well-known herbs. This also indirectly improves Wang Yan's pharmacological knowledge.

However, over the past few days, the blonde elf lying on the bed showed no signs of waking up. If Wang Yan hadn't checked her breathing from time to time, he would have really thought she had died in bed.

For now, he'll just leave her in bed and feed her a little meat broth each day to keep her alive. He won't interfere in her affairs anymore, as Wang Yan has more important things to do right now.

The fourth and fifth farmlands require 400 and 800 points respectively. After several days of accumulation, Wang Yan had saved up a full 7000 points. So he spent 1200 points to upgrade the farmland to five grids, and prepared to use the remaining 5800 points to greatly improve the quality of life for his family.

To be honest, there aren't many things in the store that can actually improve the quality of life. It's mainly about unlocking new items through lotteries. Wang Yan first spent 300 points to buy cotton seeds. After that, he could make a simple spindle to get cotton thread.

He had seen his grandmother use a spindle when he was a child in his hometown. It was actually quite easy to make, but he had no idea how to spin it. However, there's always a way. He would get the cotton thread first, and maybe he could win a spinning machine in a lottery later.

Moreover, even if weaving is not possible, cotton thread can be used to tie things, sew clothes, etc., which is much more useful than straw rope.

As for other items, Wang Yan is not considering them for the time being. He probably won't be able to use the "Heavenly Cauldron Core" that costs 4500, so he might as well use it to enter a lottery and get some goods for the mall first.

Currently, the "land clearing" option doesn't seem as worthwhile as the lottery, because the returns from land clearing are ridiculously low. With just one potato, it's hard to know when you'll break even.

The lottery is relatively worthwhile, as it can unlock new items and yield useful supplies, including clothes and military knives.

I just don't know if they can release a firearm... otherwise he'll really have to speedrun it.

He spent a huge sum of money, using 3000 points for a 30-pull, and got 5 purple-quality items, a quilt, a set of warm cotton clothes, a bottle of medical alcohol, a bag of cement, and a knowledge capsule whose purpose he didn't know.

Wang Yan nodded. They were all extremely practical daily necessities. Apart from the "knowledge capsule" whose purpose was unknown, the rest were mostly various kinds of vegetables and fruits. However, the system wouldn't let him exploit this bug, as the crops obtained through the system's lottery couldn't be grown, which was a bit of a pity.

The rest are some pre-made canned food, beverages and other modern industrial products, which can be taken out from time to time to give the little beast girls a treat, improve their diet, and incidentally increase their affection.

As for unlocking products, four products were unlocked, all of which are relatively essential items.

Cement: 500 points/bag

[Iron Axe] 600 points

[Leather Armor] 500 points

[Soap] 300 points/bar

The store now offers cement and red bricks as basic building materials, allowing you to try building some basic structures, such as a brick wall with doors and windows for the opening. Currently, the opening is only covered by a piece of leather, which is fine in autumn, but it will definitely cause big problems in winter.

However, there's no rush. Wang Yan still has 1800 points left. The salt he initially bought is almost gone, so he spent another 1000 points to buy a condiment gift pack. In addition to a 300-gram bag of salt, the pack also contains a bottle of soy sauce, a bottle of vinegar, a small packet of MSG, and a small bucket of cooking oil. Overall, it's quite worthwhile to buy so many things with 1000 points.

After nearly half a month of saving, only eight hundred remained. Wang Yan shook his head slightly. This was far from enough. Even if the little beast girls were satisfied, he was still not satisfied.

So, he and Yingluo went out again without stopping to continue searching for traces of the herbs.

Upon learning that Wang Yan obtained so many delicious foods by exchanging them for strange and unusual flowers and herbs, Yingluo became completely enchanted. She lost all interest in gathering wild vegetables and fruits and focused solely on searching for medicinal herbs with Wang Yan, leaving him somewhat amused and exasperated.

The fluffy fox tail swayed from side to side, and the big fox licked its lips, bending over and staring intently into a patch of grass, as if trying to figure something out.

"Herbs...herbs...where are they~"

Wang Yan actually found the big fox's appearance quite cute, so he stepped forward and gently patted her back, explaining:

"Finding medicinal herbs isn't that easy. We mainly gather wild vegetables and fruits; we don't need to specifically look for medicinal herbs."

In the past few days, Wang Yan has been able to find some herbs, all thanks to the fact that their location is undeveloped. If they are lucky, they can find a few. But ultimately, the little beast girls' home is still too barren. If they want to find more herbs, they will have to go further up. Otherwise, it will be quite difficult to find any more herbs.

After searching all morning, the two found nothing. Yingluo lowered her ears, clearly feeling somewhat down.

At this moment, the two were at the farthest point of the little beast girls' gathering area. If they went any further, they might encounter people from other tribes. Just to be on the safe side, Wang Yan sighed and prepared to take Yingluo back. However, Yingluo stubbornly shook her head, somewhat eager to try, and said:

"Wang Yan, shall we walk a little further?"

Having come all this way without much to show for it, Yingluo was clearly somewhat dissatisfied. Thinking of taking Wang Yan a little further, she quickly added:

"There's not much further ahead, it's just that there are fewer wild vegetables, which is why we stopped going. But today we can go a little further and see. Don't worry, I know the way."

After listening to Yingluo's assurances, Wang Yan thought for a moment and then nodded. Anyway, he would just walk forward and wouldn't go too far. If he really had nothing left, he would just have to go back.

Not long after, Yingluo spotted the small yellow-green flower again in a corner of the grass. It was so small that it would be hard to spot if you didn't look carefully. After confirming it several times, she finally found Wang Yan. His big tail was wagging so much that it looked like he was saying "Praise me!" Wang Yan couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He reached out and patted the big fox's head, rubbing its ears as he did so. The fox ears felt quite nice.

"Hmm, Yingluo is great! I'll reward you with something delicious tonight after I dig this ginseng out!"

The big fox nodded vigorously, even humming a little tune he had made up, his hands behind his back. Just as Wang Yan lay down, a childish voice, tinged with anger, rang out from behind them:

"That ginseng plant is mine, you're not allowed to take it!"

(I've uploaded the new cover ten times already, but it just won't get approved no matter what I do. I think there might be something wrong with my account, so I'm considering using a different account to try.)
