My sister-in-law from Qingdao

Chapter 8 The Female CEO's Gaze Was Intense

Without a moment's hesitation, I answered the phone and put it on speakerphone.

"Xiao Dong, your brother said he went to look for you, is that true?" I answered the phone and heard my sister-in-law's gentle voice.

"My brother is staying with me. We went out and had a bottle of wine. We were walking back to my dorm when I asked him to find a designated driver to take me home."

"It's fine as long as he's with you. He can come back if he wants, and if he doesn't want to, let him stay. Just remember, don't let him drive."

My cousin chuckled and snatched the phone from my hand.

"Honey, you missed me?"

"I don't miss you at all. I don't think I miss anyone else, you reek of alcohol and cigarettes."

"If you don't want to, then you can sleep at home by yourself. I'll be with Xiaodong tonight. He's been here for so long, and I haven't had a chance to spend much time with him. Tonight, the two of us brothers will have a chat."

My cousin's voice became serious.

"Chen Fang, don't say I didn't warn you. It's fine for you to hang out with him, but don't take him to places like that. He's a college student, a simple boy. Don't lead him astray."

Su Xiaoya's voice became somewhat serious.

"My wife, what kind of person do you take me for? Don't you know my body? Do you think I take my friends to karaoke for business?!"

Chen Fang's voice was tinged with disappointment and helplessness, and even a hint of embarrassment.

"I don't care about your business, just don't lead Xiao Dong astray."

"Sister-in-law, don't worry, my brother isn't that kind of person. We're just chatting and talking together, we would never go to a bathhouse or karaoke bar."

I was afraid that the two of them would start arguing again, so I quickly leaned closer to the phone and said to Su Xiaoya.

"Alright then, you two brothers can have a good chat tonight."

After hanging up the phone, I put my arm around my cousin's shoulder and said, "Brother, your wife is such a good person; she mainly cares about you."

"Bullshit, does she care about me? She cares about you. She's afraid I'll lead you astray."

"Let's go to my dorm. I'll make you a cup of tea, and we brothers can have a good chat tonight."

I pointed to our dormitory building at Linglong Embroidery Factory and said to my cousin with a smile.

My cousin gently removed my hand and looked at me with a determined gaze.

"Little brother, I can't stay with you tonight no matter what. I'm going home."

I nodded quickly in agreement.

"That's right, your sister-in-law is worried about you, it's right for you to go home and spend time with her."

My cousin shook his head with a wry smile.

"I told her I was coming to see you, and she didn't stop me for a moment. Now she's calling to test whether I'm coming back. I suspect she's bringing a man home tonight."

When he said that, my heart skipped a beat. Could Su Xiaoya really be that kind of person?

"Brother, you can go home, but don't overthink it. Your wife isn't that kind of person."

"Little brother, you've only known Su Xiaoya for a few days. I know in my heart whether she's that kind of person or not. That's fine. I'm happy to have a drink and chat with you tonight. I'm going home to see if I can run into your sister-in-law with another man."

As he spoke, my cousin took out his phone and found a designated driver.

After the designated driver arrived, my cousin put his arm around my shoulder and stepped aside, whispering, "No matter what, you can't tell your sister-in-law this information. I've always suspected she's cheating on me. I'll go back today and see if I can find any clues."

"Don't worry, I definitely won't call your sister-in-law."

My cousin and the designated driver drove off, leaving me standing alone, bewildered, at the entrance of Linglong Embroidery Factory.

I feel like a traitor, betraying my sister-in-law.

Maybe I should call my sister-in-law now and tell her that my cousin went back.

But I feel that this is not appropriate. I am closer to my cousin, and I don't want my cousin's wife to betray him. If my cousin's wife really brings a man home and my cousin finds out, what kind of ending will that be?

Back in my dorm, I felt even more lost, my heart still pounding.

I really wanted to send a WeChat message to my cousin's wife to tell her that my cousin had come home, but I felt that would be unfair to my cousin.

Finally, I simply threw my phone aside, pretending that I had never existed, that their marital affairs had nothing to do with me.

Like I said before, I can't interfere in their marriage.

I was lying in bed alone, my mind filled with images of my cousin and his wife. After enduring more than forty minutes, I suddenly received a WeChat message from my cousin.

"Luckily, there was no one else at home, just your sister-in-law. She was already asleep in bed."

When I heard that my cousin's wife hadn't brought any men home, I immediately felt relieved.

She hurriedly replied to her cousin on WeChat: "My dear brother, don't overthink it. My sister-in-law is so beautiful and understanding. She's not that kind of bad woman. It's you who should quit smoking and drinking and have a child with her."

"I understand. Focus on your work. I'll help you when you buy a house or a car. I'll also ask your sister-in-law to introduce you to a girlfriend in a few days."

I gave a wry smile. For a young man like me with nothing, a house, a car, and a girlfriend, it seems a long way off.

I chatted briefly with my cousin, then turned off the lights and went to sleep, returning to work the next day.

My colleagues are all nice to me, including our foreign trade department head, Yu Chaowen. It's just that my mentor, Zhao Lina, always has a stern face, as if I owe her money.

I don't care what she does. I just take the business cards that Yu Chaowen and Zhao Lina gave me, add them on QQ and WeChat one by one, and send them emails introducing my products and such.

After a whole day, there were still no results.

When it was time to leave work at five o'clock in the afternoon, Yu Chaowen came out of his office and clapped his hands lightly.

"Everyone, don't go home for dinner tonight. General Manager Lin is treating everyone in our foreign trade department to dinner to welcome our new member, Chen Dong."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone in the foreign trade department became happy and turned to me with envious eyes.

There was only one person who didn't even glance at me, his eyes fixed on the computer screen. That person was Zhao Lina.

I wondered to myself, what is this woman trying to do? Why does she dislike me so much?

Just then, Zhao Lina stood up and said to Yu Chaowen, "Minister Yu, I won't go. You guys go ahead."

"Xiao Zhao, you're not married and live alone in the dorm, why don't you come over? It would be great if we could all have a meal together."

"Minister Yu, I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well."

After Zhao Lina finished speaking, she turned to look at me and said in a calm tone, "Xiao Chen, I'm so sorry, I'm not feeling well today. Let's have dinner together another day when we have time."

"Alright, alright, I'll treat you to a meal when I have time, after all, you're my mentor."

I'm not stupid. I'm new here, so I have to be polite to everyone.

Zhao Lina nodded, said nothing more, and sat down again.

That evening, we went to a high-end hotel not far from the company, where a dozen or so people sat around a table.

Lin Moli wore a light pink dress, her hair was loose over her shoulders, and she had exquisite makeup on.

It gives people a graceful and warm feeling.

It has to be admitted that, despite being a divorced woman, her figure is something that most young girls can't compare to.

In those fleeting moments when our eyes meet unintentionally, I always feel that her gaze is burning.
