Deep Fog Kiss

Chapter 10 Be Gentle

Jiang Li turned to look out the window, feeling a mix of bitterness and sorrow in her heart.

Her two-year sexual relationship with him was like a seed hidden in a dark corner, never able to receive the sunlight, only able to mold and rot in a damp corner.

For the arrogant and haughty second young master of the Gu family, it was indeed a disgrace.

Gu Zhishen glanced at her sideways. She twisted her body to face the window, looking like a little rabbit who had suffered a great injustice, puffing up her cheeks in anger.

He frowned slightly, reflecting on whether his words had been too harsh.

She was very delicate; in the past, if he spoke even slightly harshly, her tears would fall like they were free.

Even when he first met her, her eyes welled up with tears as she called out "brother," and her voice trembled as if she were about to be devoured by him.

Just as I was about to ask her if she had been crying, my gaze suddenly fell on her slender ankles.

She kicked off her high heels as she got into the car, her fair feet stepping onto the plush carpet under the seat.

The skin on her left heel, which was fair with a pinkish tinge, was torn, and the exposed scarlet red was quite striking.

Looking at her high heels, I understood.

My heels are blistered.

The man's gaze fell on her slender back again. In the past, if she had been slightly injured, she would have already been coquettishly seeking his hug and comfort. She would never have been so composed as she was now.

After two years away, I've learned to endure.

The scenery outside the window rushed past, and the streetlights on both sides left indistinct phantoms.

In a daze, Jiang Li felt that this road was somewhat familiar.

Just as she was about to turn around, she suddenly felt a warm touch on her ankle. The temperature reached her skin, causing her to tremble slightly in surprise.

"What are you shaking for?"

The man's clear voice reached her ears, and his large, well-defined hand lifted her ankle and placed it on his strong, powerful thigh.

Through the fabric of his trousers, Jiang Li could clearly feel the burning heat on his thighs.

The man's broad palms cradled her slender, white feet as he looked down to examine the abrasions.

His fingers were clean and long, with delicate wrist bones protruding and strong veins winding on the back of his hands, exuding a wild sense of power.

These hands once touched her most delicate parts.

Upon seeing those exquisite hands, some inappropriate images suddenly flashed through Jiang Li's mind, and her cheeks instantly burned.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my ankle.

"Well--"

She frowned slightly and let out a soft cry.

The pain cleared away all the lewd thoughts in her mind.

"pain?"

The man asked in a low voice.

Jiang Li then realized that just as she was lost in thought, Gu Zhishen had taken a first-aid kit out of the car.

The first-aid kit isn't big, but it contains most commonly used medications.

At this moment, his slender fingers were holding a cotton swab soaked in disinfectant, disinfecting her wound.

The soft interior lighting illuminated his strikingly handsome face, making his deep, cold eyes appear much gentler.

She didn't speak, and the man stopped what he was doing, then said again, "Say it if it hurts."

Jiang Li met his amber eyes, her dimples appearing slightly at the corners of her lips.

"Be gentle."

Her voice was sweet, with a hint of coquetry.

The man raised an eyebrow slightly. "Looks like it still doesn't hurt."

Even so, his cotton swab was applied to her wound with noticeably gentler pressure than before.

Jiang Li leaned back in the soft chair, a dimple appearing at the corner of her mouth, watching Gu Zhishen slowly and methodically treat her wounds.

He held her slender ankle in his palm, her bare skin starkly white against his black trousers.

This wasn't the first time Gu Zhishen had treated her wounds this way.

......

When she was in school, she signed up for the 100-meter race at the school sports meet because Gu Zhishen casually remarked that she "lacked exercise".

As a result, she stumbled during the final sprint, not only missing out on the championship but also injuring her knee.

When Gu Zhishen received the call, he was entertaining high-ranking officials from the municipal government and had drunk quite a bit of alcohol.

Jiang Li thought he would have Yin Ming pick her up, but he came in person instead.

He was twenty-five years old at the time, wearing a noble and crisp dark suit. His tall and superior posture and youthful vigor complemented the temperament of a mature man, making him the most eye-catching presence in the crowd and attracting the attention of many girls in the school.

During that budding adolescence, he undoubtedly became the subject of discussion and secret crushes among the girls at school.

A classmate asked her curiously, "Jiang Li, is that super handsome man your brother?"

Jiang Li thought for two seconds and answered in a low voice, "It's my...neighbor brother."

At that moment, Jiang Li was bewitched and wanted to sever the generational relationship between her and Gu Zhishen.

At that moment, Jiang Li had a selfish urge to hide him away so that no one else could covet him.

Gu Zhishen went straight to the infirmary and immediately saw Jiang Li sitting obediently in a chair waiting for him. Her eyes were red and her head was drooping, like a pitiful creature that no one wanted.

The fair and delicate knees were chafed raw on the rough track, the skin torn and bleeding, a glaring sight.

Jiang Li didn't feel any pain at first, but she couldn't help but shed tears the moment she saw Gu Zhishen.

"How did you get injured like this?"

He frowned and squatted down in front of her, still smelling of alcohol.

He looked away from her wound and turned to ask the doctor, "Is there any bone damage?"

The doctor told the truth, "It's just a superficial wound; it's already been disinfected and treated with ointment."

Jiang Li lowered her head, and crystal tears fell down her cheeks. "I...I didn't win the championship."

Gu Zhishen knelt down in front of her, feeling both annoyed and amused.

He gently wiped away the tear tracks on her face with his fingertips. "You've fallen like this, and you're still thinking about the championship?"

He looked at her wound. "Are you able to walk?"

Jiang Li shook her head, pouting, and tears fell again.

Gu Zhishen sighed softly, seemingly helpless yet heartbroken.

He reached under her knees and easily lifted her up.

After the doctor gave some instructions, Gu Zhishen carried her out of the medical room and into the car.

The car was filled with the smell of alcohol emanating from him, though it wasn't unpleasant.

The scent emanating from him actually smelled quite nice.

Jiang Li heard his soft sigh, and his handsome, deep-set brows furrowed slightly.

Are you angry?

Gu Zhishen picked up the first-aid kit from the car and gently applied the medicine to her again.

"Why am I angry? I'm afraid you might fall and break yourself if you're not careful."

With red eyes, Jiang Li asked him softly, "...If I were crippled, would you leave me?"

"What?" Gu Zhishen raised his eyes, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "Trying to cling to me for the rest of your life?"
