Weird, my gaming life

When Lin Yuan and Zhang Erniu arrived at the Transmission of Skills Square, a large number of people had already gathered there.

Lin Yuan made a preliminary estimate and found that the entire Dao Palace had recruited about fifty new miscellaneous disciples.

At this moment, everyone was sitting upright on the prayer cushions, and directly in front of them was an old man with a white beard.

The old man frowned slightly when he saw Lin Yuan and Zhang Erniu arrive late, but he didn't say anything. He just pointed to the two empty prayer mats at the back.

Lin Yuan and Zhang Erniu quickly walked over and sat down.

The old man cleared his throat and said, "Today, I will teach you some basic techniques. This is the first step into cultivation, so listen carefully."

As he spoke, the old man began to explain the essentials and methods of cultivation of the technique.

Lin Yuan listened intently, occasionally pondering the words silently in his mind. Zhang Erniu, standing beside him, was also completely absorbed in the listening.

Of course, how much they understood depended on their individual abilities. After all, most of the people who came here were from farming families and most of them were illiterate. However, the old Taoist priest spoke in a very down-to-earth manner, and the basic exercises were simple to perform.

It's just simple breathing and circulating the energy around the body, nothing more. As a basic exercise for beginners in internal energy cultivation, it doesn't involve too much of the mystical knowledge of Taoism, so most people can understand the principles behind it.

To put it bluntly, the reason why Qinghe Palace would teach these menial disciples martial arts techniques for free was simply to increase their strength through this basic internal energy cultivation, so that they could do more high-intensity work later on. Otherwise, do you really think these martial arts sects are so kind?

The lecture took about half an hour. After everyone had come to their senses, the old Taoist priest glanced at them silently and then hurriedly left.

Next, a burly-looking man stepped forward and quickly assigned them the rough work they would do that day.

Lin Yuan looked at the Qi Gong technique in the skill section of his system panel and felt very satisfied.

He had no complaints about the rough work the man assigned him, since these were all tasks for him.

Suppressing his urge to immediately begin practicing his cultivation technique, Lin Yuan quickly got to work.

Since it was the first day, their work wasn't very strenuous; most of it consisted of rough tasks like carrying water, chopping firewood, and tending the medicinal herb garden.

These tasks were manageable for them, who were not even ten years old at the time.

Looking at the huge pile of firewood in front of him, Lin Yuan felt a sudden flash of inspiration. These were all his potential points!

In the past, at home, because of his young age, his parents wouldn't let him do things like chopping wood, which required a lot of strength and were somewhat dangerous.

However, today, he will enter a new stage. Picking up a piece of coarse firewood, Lin Yuan slowly placed it on the wooden block, and with a slightly larger axe in his hand, he chopped down hard on the firewood that had been laid out.

Clap!

He split a piece of firewood in two, and at the same time, his system panel conveniently displayed a notification that his stamina had increased by 0.2.

This made Lin Yuan's heart leap with joy; this was...

Lin Yuan's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly opened the game log to see why he had gained an extra 0.1 points of stamina.

Lin Yuan quickly found the reason in the system panel, and saw that there was a new change in his original identity column.

Character: Lin Yuan [Miscellaneous Disciple of Qinghe Palace]

Root bone; 50

Comprehension; 49 [Average Appearance]

Strength: 15

Spirit; 7

Exercise Method; Introduction to [Yi Qi Gong]

Life skills; Cooking skills 10

As Lin Yuan focused his attention on the title of "Miscellaneous Disciple of Qinghe Palace", a new panel popped up the next moment.

The reward for the task of "Miscellaneous Disciple of Qinghe Palace" is doubled.

At this moment, Lin Yuan's heart was pounding. If he understood correctly, the promotion in status could also increase the speed at which he could acquire potential.

Why is this happening? Could it be due to fate...? This thought ignited an unprecedented ambition in Lin Yuan's heart.

According to my memories from my previous life, each initial sect in this game has a specific advancement path.

You either need to cultivate your skills to a certain level, max out the favorability of a certain elder, or accumulate sect contribution points.

When he first entered the game, his initial sect was not Qinghe Palace, but Huashan Sword Sect in the north, so he was not very clear about the advancement path of Qinghe Palace.

However, he knew one thing: every sect had menial disciples, who were essentially the sect's laborers and could not be treated as normal disciples.

How can he get rid of this identity?

Lin Yuan chopped wood while deep in thought.

As distant memories resurfaced, Lin Yuan's eyes grew brighter and brighter, for he had indeed found a way to achieve instant success.

If he remembered correctly, each sect had a great adventure.

It can allow players who are new to the outer sect to rise to the top in one step, but it is unknown whether this method is suitable for his current status.

After all, he is no longer an outer disciple, but the lowest-ranking menial disciple.

No! We have to try!

Lin Yuan made a silent resolution: he only had one month, and he had to gain the greatest benefit from this game within that month.

Otherwise, who knows when he will re-enter the dream.

With this in mind, Lin Yuan began to discard the chaotic thoughts in his mind and focused on completing the task.

Five days later.

Lin Yuan sat cross-legged on his bed, breathing in and out in a specific manner, with warm air currents circulating within his body.

As Lin Yuan's internal energy circulation speed increased, it suddenly surged towards an acupoint.

"Snap!"

Lin Yuan shuddered, slowly withdrew his circulating internal energy, and opened his eyes.

Over the past week, he has been constantly improving himself. Apart from diving and chopping wood, he spends all his free time meditating and practicing his internal energy.

With a slight thought, a screen of light appeared before his eyes.

Lin Yuan [Miscellaneous Disciple of Qinghe Palace]

Root bone; 50

Comprehension; 49 [Average Appearance]

Strength: 20

Spirit; 10

Exercise Method; [One Qi Gong, Five Levels]

Internal energy; 250

Life skills; Cooking skills 10

Seeing his strength value increase by another five points and the newly appeared internal energy panel, Lin Yuan couldn't help but smile.

Joining a sect and living in a farm are like two completely different worlds.

First of all, his potential points doubled, and no one stopped him from working anymore, even though he knew his farming parents were just being considerate and didn't assign him any heavier tasks.

But now he desperately needs to improve himself. If his parents were still alive, he wouldn't be living such a happy life as a beast of burden.

In the servants' quarters, as long as you haven't exhausted your strength and don't feel tired, you can keep taking on jobs.

In the past, when he was a farmer, he would only gain a little bit of energy every ten days. But now that he has joined a sect, he has gained more energy in just one week than he used to gain in a month.

All of this made Lin Yuan reluctant to leave the servants' quarters. If it weren't for the pursuit of more advanced martial arts, he would have liked to stay there forever.

Moreover, in just five days, he directly cultivated the Qi Gong from a beginner to the fifth level, and his internal energy value reached 250 points, which is almost half the true energy of a third-rate master.

Even a third-rate master only has 500 points of internal energy. Generally speaking, even a direct disciple of the Qinghe Sect would need a year to break through from an unranked master to a third-rate master.

With his game interface, he actually reached half of the level of a third-rate expert in just one week. That speed is truly remarkable.

Lin Yuan had a premonition that as long as he cultivated the Qi Gong to the Great Perfection, which is the so-called tenth level, he would definitely be able to break through to become a third-rate master.

You should know that the game is a high-level martial arts system. Don't think that a third-rate master is low-level. Among ordinary people, he is definitely someone who can take on a hundred people. It's just that he has no means of attacking now, so he has to fight back.

If he can find the fortuitous encounter in Qinghe Palace and obtain more profound internal strength and martial arts techniques, Lin Yuan is confident that he can make that strange creature that has been watching him die without a burial place.

Thinking of this, Lin Yuan looked at the faint glow of dawn shining through the door.

"It's time to head over there and wait for that lucky encounter!"

I just don't know if the information on those forums from my past life was accurate.

Having made up his mind, Lin Yuan quickly got up, tidied himself up briefly, and went out.
