Detective Conan: The Literary Genius is Actually a Great Scientist

Chapter 15 Conan: Who downloaded these movies on my phone?!

"You little brats! Look closely, these are all fake, just props!!!"

After listening to Conan and his friends' deduction, and looking at his fallen companion, the long-haired man wearing sunglasses suddenly felt his blood pressure spike. He turned around and took out the props they were going to use for their performance at the school festival from the trunk.

A lifelike model of a girl's head, a bloodstained saw...

It was hard to see in the dark trunk, but now that it's out, you can tell it's fake at a glance.

Conan then remembered that Ran had mentioned before leaving home this morning that she was going to Teitan University's campus festival that evening, which featured a very interesting mystery theater performance, and that she would be back late.

"S-small props?"

"So it was just rehearsing lines..."

"Yes, we misunderstood..."

The three kids and Conan were sweating profusely, and the scene was quite awkward.

The long-haired man squatted down, looking at his companion who had already been coaxed to sleep on the ground, and said angrily, "Damn it, the stage play is about to start, how are you going to compensate me?!"

"Um... If there's nothing else, we'll be going now..."

Realizing they had caused trouble, the four silently turned around and tried to slip away.

However, a figure blocked their retreat at just the right moment.

"Conan, Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko, what are you four doing?" Lin Ran bent down and looked at them with a smile.

"He's an older brother."

"Damn it, we've been caught!"

"Brother Lin Ran..."

Genta and Mitsuhiko scratched their heads awkwardly, their eyes darting around.

When Ayumi saw Lin Ran, her big eyes lit up instantly, as if she had seen a savior.

The Junior Detective Club has been established for quite some time now. Lin Ran got to know the three little girls through Xiao Lan and several chance encounters. With his handsome appearance, gentle personality, and artistic flair, he was extremely attractive to little girls like Ayumi who were at the age of dreaming.

"Lin Ran, what's he doing here?"

Upon seeing the person approaching, Conan instinctively tried to hide behind Genta.

There's no way around it, nothing good ever comes from running into this guy.

The last time I met him, my voice-changing bow tie was missing. The time before that, I met Lin Ran, I don't know who she was, she had downloaded a bunch of movies onto her phone when she had nothing better to do.

You know.

As a Japanese person, even if my own excellent culture has shrunk and my hormones have temporarily gone dormant, it's hard to resist taking a second look.

And then... no more.

He was caught red-handed by Xiaolan, who came to call him for dinner.

Not only did he get a beating, but from then on, Xiaolan looked at him differently. She started to be on guard against him in every way, locking the door when he showered and treating him like a thief when he changed clothes. She didn't treat him like a child at all, and all the benefits he had imagined were gone.

Conan strongly suspects that Lin Ran did it, but he has no proof.

Most importantly, as a detective, he couldn't fathom the other party's motives.

There's no reason for a Chinese student studying abroad to target a child without reason, given that he admired the genius who wrote "The Devotion of Suspect X," a book he didn't like.

Unable to figure it out, Conan could only conclude that the two were incompatible by nature and their auras clashed, so he should try to avoid this guy to avoid further bad luck.

Lin Ran gently rubbed the soft hair of Ayumi, who had run to her side and was tilting her head back. Noticing Conan's reaction, Lin Ran smiled slightly, feeling pleased.

Yes, he did it all.

The videos on Conan's phone were excellent torrents that he had searched for online for a long time. Many netizens wanted them but he wouldn't give them away, so he selflessly "gifted" them all to our great detective.

So, no need to thank me. Doing good deeds anonymously, please call him Lei Feng Lin.

"Conan!!!"

Before Conan could even figure out how to escape, a righteous iron fist descended from the sky.

"Bang!"

A crisp, clear tapping sound.

Does it sound good?

A pleasant sound is a good start.

Ran's pretty face was filled with anger, her eyebrows raised, as she looked at Conan, whose head had suddenly bulged with a large bump, whose eyes were filled with spinning stars, and who was spinning around in circles like a top.

Just as Lin Ran had warned during their casual conversation, children these days are exposed to the internet too early, making them frighteningly precocious and extremely mischievous, with a penchant for causing trouble.

If her father hadn't secretly accepted a large sum of child support, she wouldn't have agreed to let that lecherous bastard live in the office!

Whose child, at such a young age, enjoys watching movies?

It's the kind of thing that's out of curiosity.

She felt disgusted just thinking about it.

"Sister Ran, Sister Sonoko..."

When Genta and Mitsuhiko saw Ran exuding her powerful aura, they shrank back in fear and stood obediently at attention.

Sonoko walked over, hands on her hips, bent down, and scolded the kids: "You little rascals, causing trouble again! You even knocked someone unconscious! That's really outrageous!"

Xiaolan walked apologetically to the long-haired man and bowed deeply: "I'm so sorry the children have caused you trouble. Is your friend alright? We'll cover all the medical expenses!"

The long-haired man looked at the girl who was sincerely apologizing in front of him, then at Sonoko who was standing next to him with a fierce expression, and his companion who had fainted on the ground. He was full of anger but couldn't take it out on the girl. He could only scratch his head in frustration: "Never mind... but our stage play is about to start. What are we going to do if we're missing an actor?"

Lin Ran continued to rub Ayumi's little head.

The little girl squinted her eyes, her face showing satisfaction and enjoyment.

He smiled and said to the three little ones who were hanging their heads, "If you make a mistake, you can't just think about running away, that's cowardly."

"A good child should learn to take responsibility and find ways to make up for the losses they cause, right?"

……

A moment later, backstage at the Teitan University anniversary mystery theater.

"Hurry, hurry! Put this coat on!"

"You, and you, squat down! Yes, just like that!"

"Little kid, lie here. Yes, smear more ketchup on your face. Can you play dead? Just stay perfectly still!"

Inside the open-air theater of the school festival.

Lin Ran sat leisurely in the front row of the audience, with Sonoko and Ran sitting on either side of him.

On stage, a mystery drama is unfolding.

The long-haired man was talking to a "mysterious person" who was wearing a large black coat, sunglasses, and walked unsteadily and clumsily.

"Who...who are you? Why are you doing this?"

The long-haired man was reciting his lines.

"Hmph... Hmph..." The "mysterious person" in the coat made indistinct sounds, stuttered his lines, and swayed unnaturally from side to side, as if he might fall apart at any moment.

The audience was somewhat confused, only feeling that the actor's acting skills were a bit poor.

However, the three people in the front row who knew the situation could see it clearly—under that large coat, Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Genta were clearly standing together like a human pyramid.

Conan was at the top, responsible for making sounds and controlling direction, while Mitsuhiko and Genta were at the bottom, responsible for support and movement. With the three of them crammed into one coat, how could their movements not be stiff and strange?

And at their feet.

Ayumi lay obediently on the ground, her little face smeared with bright red "tomato sauce," motionless, playing the role of a "victim's" corpse.

Yuanzi watched the comical scene on stage, laughing so hard she almost fell over. She slapped Lin Ran's arm vigorously, "Hahaha! Lin Ran, your idea was so wicked! Look at those three, they're about to collapse! Hahaha!"

Xiao Lan couldn't help but chuckle, covering her mouth as she giggled.

Lin Ran admired her "masterpiece" with satisfaction.

If I transmigrated into Detective Conan, wouldn't it be a waste of my time if I didn't bully the big-headed detective?

Conan, squeezed between Mitsuhiko and Genta in that stifling coat, struggling to maintain his balance and recite his lines, peered through the gaps in the coat at Lin Ran, who was sitting comfortably with two women on either side of him, and felt a surge of anger.

He knew it! Running into this guy was never going to end well!

"That damned Lin Ran...you just wait..."
