Family connections: From special recruitment by the county committee to the pinnacle of power

Upon seeing that it was Xu Hansheng, the security guard hurriedly waved his hand and said, "I dare not take the cigarettes. The Discipline Inspection Commission is on the third floor, on the left. You'll see it as soon as you go up."

Xu Hansheng smiled and said, "Thank you, brother. Please take this cigarette. I might need to deal with you often when I work here in the future."

As he spoke, Xu Hansheng stuffed the cigarettes into the security guard's hand.

Many novices don't take the gatekeeper seriously, thinking he's just a security guard. But that's not the case. Every day, county officials come and go, and no one can escape his eyes.

It's fair to say that no one knows better than him who is in and out of the county committee.

Who knows, Xu Hansheng might need someone's help someday.

As the saying goes, a small favor is enough to secure a good deal!

Why wouldn't Xu Hansheng be happy to give up a pair of eyes for a small gain?

The security guard held the Yuxi cigarette in his hand, watching Xu Hansheng's retreating figure, feeling a warmth in his heart.

To be honest, there are very few people in the entire county government compound who really take him, this little security guard, seriously.

Xu Hansheng wasn't offering cigarettes, but rather heartfelt respect!

For this reason alone, Xu Hansheng is quite extraordinary!

As Xu Hansheng walked up to the third floor, he looked up and happened to run into the young woman with her hair tied in a ponytail.

As their eyes met, the young woman frowned and said to Xu Hansheng in a low voice, "Didn't I tell you not to come to the Discipline Inspection Commission? Why are you so stubborn?"

"You've already offended people before even starting work, causing such a commotion at the county committee. This won't do you any good in the future!"

Xu Hansheng grinned and said, "Thank you for your advice, but I still believe that the comrades in the Discipline Inspection Commission will definitely uphold justice for me!"

The young woman frowned and said, "Justice? It's not that easy to uphold. Listen to me, go back now!"

Xu Hansheng shook his head slightly and walked towards the supervisory office.

"Hey, how can you be so ungrateful!"

The young woman stomped her feet in anger, but Xu Hansheng ignored her and stopped at the door of the Discipline Inspection Commission office.

Thump...thump thump!

He knocked on the door three times, once long and twice short.

In the large office, a clerk stood up and said, "Hello, what can I do for you?"

"Hello, comrade!"

Xu Hansheng stood at the door, not going inside, but facing the clerk, and said with a smile, "I am here to file a formal complaint against Li Dong, a clerk in the Second Section of the Health Bureau, and Lin Minghua, the deputy head of the First Section of the Food and Drug Administration, for abusing their power and using fines as a substitute for proper management."

Ok?

The clerk was taken aback; the terminology was rather technical!

People who usually report abuse of power, which is normal. However, it's even more accurate to mention the company and position, and then to say that fines are used instead of proper management.

This guy's an expert!

Just as the clerk stepped out of his desk to receive Xu Hansheng, a middle-aged man stepped into a separate office and said to the clerk, "Xiao Zhao, bring him to my office."

"Yes, Director Zhou!"

The clerk responded and quickly walked up to Xu Hansheng, saying, "Come with me."

Xu Hansheng smiled and nodded, then followed the clerk into the office inside.

The young people in the office all looked up at Xu Hansheng, secretly wondering who this guy was and how lucky he was that Zhou Kaibin, the secretary of the county discipline inspection commission, was personally receiving him.

Although similar incidents have occurred from time to time, Zhou Kaibin has completely stopped caring about hospitality in the past year.

Before long, Xu Hansheng was led to the door of Zhou Binkai's office. The clerk knocked lightly on the door twice, then said to Xu Hansheng, "Go in."

Xu Hansheng first thanked the other party, stepped forward, knocked on the door twice, and then slowly walked to Zhou Kaibin's desk.

He reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out the two enforcement receipts, held them up with both hands, and placed them on Zhou Kaibin's desk. Then he took two steps back and said to Zhou Kaibin, "Comrade, I am filing a formal complaint against Li Dong, a staff member of the Second Section of the Health Bureau, and Lin Minghua, the deputy head of the First Section of the Food and Drug Administration, for abusing their power and using fines as a substitute for proper management!"

Before Zhou Kaibin could speak, footsteps sounded at the door, and then a middle-aged man in his forties, wearing an executive jacket, walked in with his hands behind his back.

When Zhou Kaibin saw the middle-aged man, his expression stiffened slightly, and he touched the armrests of the chair with both hands, but then withdrew them.

Although it was just a very subtle movement, it revealed a lot of information in Xu Hansheng's eyes!

The person in front of me must be the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission.

There is no one else but the county party secretary who would make the discipline inspection secretary instinctively want to get up and greet him!

Even County Magistrate Lin Hanlong wouldn't receive this treatment.

Xu Hansheng kept his eyes fixed ahead, only glancing out of the corner of his eye at the middle-aged man walking toward the desk.

In terms of demeanor, among all the people in Yutong County, only the county party secretary, Qi Hongchang, has this kind of presence.

Qi Hongchang walked to the desk with his hands behind his back, glanced at the enforcement receipt on the desk, and said with a smile, "Oh dear, you've fined quite a bit. Six thousand is a bit too much."

Upon hearing this, Xu Hansheng took a deep breath and said, "Old comrade, I am not making this report under my real name for my own sake."

"I don't need a single penny of this six thousand yuan, but I cannot allow this situation to occur in our Yutong County!"

Qi Hongchang smiled faintly, glanced at Xu Hansheng a few times, and said, "Oh? Not for yourself? You're quite selfless."

Xu Hansheng turned to Qi Hongchang, looking him directly in the eye, and said, "Old comrade, isn't Yutong County your hometown? Improper enforcement and enforcement based on personal connections are destroying the business environment!"

"I had the privilege of hearing Secretary Qi's speech before, and his words deeply moved me. If Yutong County wants to develop and become prosperous, it must attract investment!"

"What's the use of him alone if he can't improve people's living standards or develop the economy? Please forgive my bluntness, but you're an old comrade, haven't you seen the seriousness of the problem yet?"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Kaibin jumped to his feet and yelled at Xu Hansheng, "How dare you speak to... an old comrade like that!"

Xu Hansheng's expression hardened, and he met Zhou Kaibin's gaze without fear, saying solemnly:

"Why can't I say it? Secretary Qi has poured his heart and soul into making Yutong County prosperous, and the excellent business environment he and all the county's cadres have created has been ruined by two bad apples. Isn't this a serious problem? If they aren't severely punished, who would dare to invest and set up factories in our county?"

At this point, Xu Hansheng glanced at Qi Hongchang and said indignantly, "He's supposed to be an old comrade, yet he lacks even this basic political sensitivity!"
