Yongcheng, Qinglonggang.

The entire cemetery was eerily quiet, with only the pattering rain echoing softly through the green hills.

Lu Hao stood in the drizzle, his gaze fixed on a brand-new tombstone before him, his expression complex.

In the very center of the tombstone is a photograph of Qin Shou taken when he had just graduated from university.

The boy in the photo has bright eyes and a high-turned-up smile. His smile is radiant and pure, and his eyes are full of vitality, sparkling with anticipation for the future.

That was the cleanest and most carefree Qin Shou in Lu Hao's memory.

Lu Hao stared at him for a long time, then murmured to himself, "It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen him smile like that."

Su Yu, who was standing next to her, spoke up, "Aren't you the same?"

Lu Hao gave a wry smile and slowly sat down on the wet ground, letting the icy water seep through his clothes and soak his body.

He gazed at the bright smiling face on the tombstone, his voice filled with regret: "Yes, it's been a long time since I've smiled like that. We were so innocent back then."

"Those were the best times of our lives," Su Yu whispered in agreement, her gaze tenderly falling on the tombstone. "Only after leaving school can one understand how cruel this society is, and how powerless we are in it."

"We are like a lone boat on the sea, aimless, drifting with the current, never having a say in our own destiny." Lu Hao's voice was low, full of weariness and relief.

"Lu Hao, don't think about it too much," Su Yu said softly, afraid that he would get too caught up in his emotions.

"I'm fine."

Lu Hao waved his hand, his gaze remaining fixed on the vivid photograph on the tombstone.

Raindrops dripped continuously from his stray hair. He remained silent for a moment, then turned to look at Su Yu beside him and asked softly:

"Su Yu, do you still remember what Qin Shou looked like that left the deepest impression on you?"

Su Yu was slightly taken aback and fell into a brief silence.

A light rain fell softly in the mountains, so quiet that you could hear each other breathing.

A few seconds later, she slowly spoke, her voice gentle and tinged with reminiscence: "What I remember most vividly is him, soaking wet and looking disheveled, kneeling beside me in front of the doctor."

Lu Hao's pupils dilated, a flash of realization crossing his eyes. He turned to look at her: "Was it the time I was in the hospital?"

"Hmm..." Su Yu nodded gently.

Lu Hao twitched the corners of his mouth, chuckled softly, and said with a sigh, "But what I remember most is not that time."

"Which time was it?"

Lu Hao didn't answer. He just reached into his pocket, pulled out a pack of Zhenlong cigarettes that cost twelve yuan, tore open the packaging, took out two cigarettes, and put them in his mouth.

Just then, a slender, jade-like hand reached out with a lighter and lit it for him.

Lu Hao smiled, took a lit cigarette and placed it in front of Qin Shou's tombstone. It was quickly extinguished by the rain.

He looked at the extinguished cigarette and muttered under his breath, "You rascal, you don't think the real dragon is too good for you, do you? Too bad I didn't bring Hua Zi today."

Letting the drizzle fall on his face, Lu Hao held the remaining cigarette between his fingers, quietly smoking most of it before slowly opening his mouth to answer Su Yu's question amidst the swirling smoke.

"The image of Qin Shou that impressed me the most was every time he would excitedly run over to tell me that he had found out where you were."

Upon hearing this, a look of surprise flashed in Su Yu's eyes: "My news?"

Lu Hao gently exhaled the smoke from his mouth, his eyes tender yet wistful. "Our first encounter was a coincidence. But in this world, how many coincidences are there?"

Su Yu suddenly realized, her eyebrows curving into a beautiful crescent moon as her gaze gently fell on Qin Shou's photo. "I see, then he's quite cute."

Lu Hao stubbed out his cigarette and spoke softly and calmly: "As for Jiang Yun, the evidence is conclusive; she's guilty of intentional homicide and will most likely be sentenced to death."

Hearing this, Su Yu's heart sank slightly, and she softly asked, "What about Qin Shou's child?"

Lu Hao sniffed, picked up a bottle of Liquan spring water from beside the grave, and poured it little by little in front of Qin Shou's tombstone.

"The child is at the Sunshine Welfare Home," he said slowly, his voice low. "Qin Shou has already made all the arrangements for the aftermath."

Su Yu's pupils dilated slightly, her tone filled with disbelief: "He...he foresaw this day would come?"

Lu Hao nodded slightly, his eyes filled with a complex understanding of everything. "He also had a lawyer draw up a will, transferring all the shares of Yuanshan Company to my name. And the Santana that Jiang Yun drives was a gift from Qin Shou a few days ago."

Su Yu frowned slightly, her face full of confusion: "What is Qin Shou trying to achieve?"

Lu Hao chuckled, a laugh tinged with sorrow: "His greatest hobby in this life is gambling."

He set the empty bottle aside, picked up a new one, opened it, tilted his head back, and gulped it down in one go. He continued, "If Jiang Yun hadn't gone to such extremes, I think... Qin Shou would most likely have planned to remarry her."

Su Yu looked up, her eyes filled with shock: "You mean... Qin Shou is using his own life to give Jiang Yun a final test?"

Lu Hao didn't answer the question directly, but instead sighed, "Do you know what Qin Shou said to me before?"

"What did you say?"

He told me: "Don't worry, I've made all the arrangements. My son will not lack a mother's love."

Su Yu fell silent, her heart filled with mixed emotions, unable to utter another word.

The drizzle in the mountains continued to fall, and a cold mist enveloped the entire cemetery, creating a somber atmosphere.

Lu Hao wiped the rain off his face, turned to look at Su Yu, and said gently, "You should go back first. You haven't fully recovered yet, don't collapse again."

"Then you'll be all alone here..." Su Yu looked worried and hesitated to move.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be home tonight. Don't worry, I won't do anything wrong, there are people waiting for me at home."

Su Yu gazed at him quietly for a long time, seeing the determination in his eyes, before slowly nodding and softly reminding him, "You must remember, all of us are waiting for you to come home."

After saying that, she turned and walked away slowly, her slender figure disappearing at the end of the misty mountain road.

In the end, only Lu Hao remained in the vast Qinglonggang Cemetery.

He sat quietly on the wet, muddy ground, facing the brand-new, solitary grave, letting the drizzle soak his entire body, silently keeping company with the deceased who rests here.

Time passed slowly, the rain continued unabated, and the wind rustled.

After an unknown amount of time, a steady sound of footsteps came from the quiet mountain path, piercing through layers of rain and mist, and slowly approaching.

Old Meng, holding a black umbrella and a pure white chrysanthemum in his hands, walked step by step to stand beside Lu Hao.

He slowly squatted down and placed the flowers in front of Qin Shou's grave.

After finishing all this, he straightened up, looked at the misty mountains and forests in the distance, and said in a low and calm voice, "I'm going back to my hometown later."

Lu Hao scoffed, "You haven't finished dealing with your own business yet, are you just going to leave like this?"

Old Meng paused slightly, turned to look at Lu Hao, his eyes filled with an unreadable emotion.

After a long silence, he spoke in a low voice: "It seems you know everything."

Lu Hao looked up and met Lao Meng's gaze. "I'm standing right here, why aren't you making a move?"

Old Meng stared into Lu Hao's eyes for a long time, then finally shook his head without offering any explanation.

Amidst the drizzling rain, he turned around, opened his umbrella, and walked step by step toward the end of the mountain path.
