Wielding a butcher's knife, a seven-year-old wicked girl supports her family and abuses her wic

Follow Cai Youjin out of the side hall and through the connecting corridor.

Yang Xiaoman's eyes were immediately drawn to the spacious main courtyard of the Tu Xingfu government office.

Rather than being the main courtyard, it felt more like a training ground converted for butchers.

Because all she could see were the tools that butchers used on a daily basis. In addition to the dozen or so pig-slaughtering knives hanging on a wooden frame in the corner of the yard, there was also a slaughtering table and a sharpening table that was even more professional than a whetstone.

Clearly, the so-called county-level assessment of butchers was being conducted right here in the main courtyard.

"You are Yang Chenglin's daughter?"

Just as Yang Xiaoman was carefully examining everything in the courtyard, a deep voice suddenly came from the main hall in front of the courtyard.

She subconsciously looked up and saw a middle-aged man with a beard slowly walking out with his hands behind his back.

At Cai Youjin's prompting, Yang Xiaoman instantly understood the newcomer's identity. Holding the butcher knife, she bowed respectfully and said:

"This humble woman, Yang Xiaoman, greets Lord Shen."

The middle-aged man in front of her was none other than Shen Zhiqi, the person in charge of assessment at the Tu Xing Shu, who had a past conflict with her father.

Seeing Yang Xiaoman admit it without hesitation, a cold glint flashed in Shen Zhi Qiu's eyes.

"As Yang Chenglin's daughter, don't you know that your father and I had a past relationship?"

"How dare you come to the Butcher's Office, attempting to pass the butcher's assessment?!"

As he spoke, his voice suddenly turned colder.

Seeing this, Cai Youjin quickly braced himself and stepped forward, gently reminding him:

"Lord Shen, Butcher Yang had an accident a few days ago, leaving behind a widow and her daughter. If they don't find a way to make a living, I'm afraid..."

"Shut up!" Before he could finish speaking, Shen Zhiqi interrupted him sharply, "You, a mere gatekeeper, dare to interfere with my words?"

Upon hearing this, Cai Youjin turned deathly pale.

"My lord, please calm down."

He immediately bowed, clasped his hands in greeting, and took two steps back, not daring to say anything more.

Although he sympathized with the little girl in front of him, he wouldn't offend his boss over it.

Looking at Shen Zhiqi's furious face, Yang Xiaoman frowned imperceptibly.

It seems that the feud between her father and this person is not as simple as she imagined.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been left hanging for an hour or two before being verbally abused.

Every word and phrase is a threat.

"Your Excellency, I am unaware of the feuds between the previous generations."

"I just think that, regardless of whether there is any connection, the Butchers Administration's assessment is to select the butchers who are capable and skilled in the county, and has nothing to do with their identity."

"The magistrate appointed Lord Shen to be in charge of the assessment, which clearly shows that he values Lord Shen's abilities and trusts that Lord Shen will enforce the law impartially rather than settle personal scores."

Yang Xiaoman's calm words caused Shen Zhiqi's pupils to shrink slightly.

He narrowed his eyes and then sneered:

"You're quite the quick-witted little girl. You're right. Although I have a grudge against Yang Chenglin, I wouldn't use my position to settle personal scores and make things difficult for a mere child like you."

"Since you yourself said that the butcher assessment is based on ability, then I would like to see how much of your father Yang Chenglin's skills you can inherit at the age of seven or eight."

After he finished speaking, he waved his hand, and a minor official walked out of the hall, holding an account book in one hand and a writing brush in the other.

"Clerk Wang, has all the information in the butcher's register been recorded?"

Upon hearing this, Clerk Wang quickly nodded and replied:

"Reporting to Lord Shen, everything has been written down, and we can conduct the assessment at any time."

Hearing this, Shen Zhi Qiu looked down at Yang Xiao Man, who was standing in the center of the main courtyard, and said indifferently:

"If you've made up your mind, then let's begin the assessment."

"But let me make this clear from the start: if you fail the assessment, your father's butcher's license... will be held at the butcher's office."

"After the three-year term, you can choose to take it back yourself, or you can be re-evaluated."

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiaoman frowned, looked up at Shen Zhi Qiu, and asked in return:

"If you fail the assessment, you have to wait three years to be reassessed? When did the Butcher's Office establish such a regulation?"

If so, the village head would definitely have reminded himself the day before yesterday.

Before Shen Zhi Qiu could speak, Cai You Jin, standing behind her, quickly whispered:

"Miss Yang, this regulation is not something that Lord Shen made up or fabricated on a whim."

"This rule has existed since the day the Slaughtering Bureau was established."

As he spoke, his voice grew softer and softer.

The look of sympathy in their eyes as they looked at Yang Xiaoman grew stronger.

Because there was one more thing he hadn't said.

Although this regulation exists, it has never been truly implemented since the establishment of the Slaughtering Bureau.

Over time, it became a little-known abandoned case.

If he hadn't spent so much time at the Slaughterhouse, he probably wouldn't have remembered this regulation.

It is obvious that in order to take more justifiable revenge against Butcher Yang, Shen Zhiqi probably went through all the files of the Butcher's Office.

The reason why I was turned away for more than an hour must have been due to this.

"Of course, if you're scared, you can always take your father's butcher's license back and leave the butcher's office."

"Although I have a grudge against your father, I would not stoop to the level of a little girl like you."

Seeing that Yang Xiaoman fell silent after Cai Youjin finished speaking, Shen Zhiqi couldn't help but mock her.

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiaoman subconsciously glanced at the butcher's manual in the clerk's hand, and then saw Shen Zhiqi looking down at her. Her hand holding the butcher's knife tightened slightly.

"Does Lord Shen have any other rules? If not, then let's stop talking nonsense and get straight to the test."

As soon as she finished speaking, the faint smile on Shen Zhi Qiu's face suddenly froze.

"As expected of Yang Chenglin's son, his reckless arrogance is just as bad as his."

"Very well, I've already made it clear. Since you're determined to court death, then I'll grant your wish!"

Having said that, he disdainfully flicked his sleeve and snorted coldly:

"Wang, the clerk, let's begin!"

Upon hearing this, Wang the clerk nodded in response, then picked up the book and walked towards the center of the main courtyard. He stopped when he was only a step away from Yang Xiaoman.

"The butcher assessment consists of three stages."

"At each stage, you must complete the assessment requirements before you can proceed to the next step."

As he spoke, he suddenly looked to his right, his gaze falling on the slaughtering platform not far away.

"First of all, to become a qualified butcher, knife skills are the most crucial element."

"So you have to divide the pork belly on the slaughtering table into three equal parts within the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, and then further divide it into three grades: lean, pure fat, and moderately fat."

"Take another incense stick's time to chop the three portions into fine minced meat. If there are any meat chunks mixed in, the test will be considered a failure."

"Otherwise, it's considered a success."

Upon hearing this, Cai Youjin's expression changed drastically.

His eyes were filled with utter disbelief!
