Around noon, Bai Ze lit the fire in the stove, then added water to the stone pot, along with some rice, and peeled two sweet potatoes, cut them into chunks, and put them in to cook together.

Qing and Xing carefully noted down his cooking methods.

While waiting, Bai Ze prepared to make some tomato sauce to eat with the fries.

Since Qing and Xing were both there, let them try this food too.

I'll make another one for Mo when he gets back.

Otherwise, Bai Ze felt very embarrassed, especially when he thought about how Mo stood by the cave entrance last night, silently watching him and Jue eat fries.

It makes me feel inexplicably guilty.

Bai Ze took a few tomatoes, lit another stove, and waited for the water in the stone pot to boil before putting the tomatoes in to blanch for a few seconds. Then he rinsed them with cold water and peeled off their skins.

Chop the prepared tomatoes into small pieces, put them back into the pot, and simmer over low heat until the water evaporates and the juice becomes thick and viscous.

The simple, original, additive-free tomato sauce is now ready.

Xingwei peered over the stove, craning her neck: "Bai Ze, what delicious food is this now?"

He now looks forward to every time Bai Ze uses the stove, always feeling that Bai Ze has magic, and that mouthwatering food appears with just a few taps of his hands.

"This is called tomato sauce." Bai Ze dipped his chopsticks in it and let them taste it.

Xing and Qing tasted it carefully: "Sweet and sour."

"This is meant to be eaten with another dish," Bai Ze said, bringing over some potatoes. "You'll probably like it."

Having learned from their experience peeling persimmons, Qing and Xing were also very adept at peeling potatoes.

Following the method from last night, Bai Ze fried another full plate of French fries.

Xing, who was standing nearby, couldn't wait any longer. When she saw the golden food coming out of the pot, she didn't care about getting burned and quickly reached out to grab a piece.

"Delicious!" he exclaimed, staring at the fries on the plate. "I never knew sweet potatoes could be cooked like this!"

"Bai Ze, you're a true genius!"

Qing nodded repeatedly: "This ketchup with fries tastes really good."

Compared to orcs, the sub-orcs have a more human-like palate and are quite fond of carbohydrates.

Bai Ze enjoys cooking in this world for two reasons: firstly, he can't get used to primitive food, and secondly, the people here are very good at providing emotional support.

People who cook feel a great sense of accomplishment.

Bai Ze opened another pot; the porridge inside was cooked to the perfect consistency, neither too thin nor too thick, and the steam wafting out carried a sweet aroma.

Xing and Qing's taste buds have been completely conquered; they absolutely love this food that Bai Ze calls "porridge."

I never expected the rice I picked that day to taste so good. It was soft and sticky, and the rice warmed my stomach when I drank it. It was also very filling.

Having a bowl of this on a cold day would be pure bliss.

In the afternoon, Qing and Xing brought over animal hides to sew, and Bai Ze also taught them how to gather the collar, armpits, and cuffs.

Xing also needs to learn how to make the most fashionable hats. Wearing them on her head will definitely make her the most dazzling presence in the tribe.

Because Yan and his group took the cubs to learn hunting in the western part of the tribe, they would pass by Mo's house on their way back.

There was no courtyard wall outside the cave, and the scene at the entrance was clearly visible.

Qing, Xing, and Bai Ze were fiddling with several animal hides under the sun, creating a very warm and cozy scene.

Hearing the commotion nearby, they looked up and saw Mo and Yan leading a line of children, emerging one after another from the woods.

The cubs have a very good impression of Bai Ze ever since they ate the food he made and heard the stories he told.

Qing has a gentle personality, and Xing can get along well with children.

So the cubs, in their childish voices, ran over to greet them: "Bai Ze, what are you doing?"

"Qing, are you making new clothes?"

"My father-in-law also made one for me, it was very beautiful, he said you taught him how."

"Wow~ Xing, the hat you're holding is so pretty!"

Although his head was still covered in leaves and his face was covered in dust, his energy was so high that it didn't seem like he had just returned from a hunting trip; it looked more like he had just gone on a kindergarten field trip.

Bai Ze looked at Mo and the others again. Sure enough, whoever takes care of a child is exhausted; they all looked several years older.

The three cubs, Xi, Hao, and Ying, hung their heads listlessly and didn't dare to approach.

Jue carried the gray rabbit he had hunted on his shoulder as he passed by Bai Ze.

Bai Ze asked in surprise, "Jue, did you hunt this?"

Jue nodded.

"Wow, that's amazing." Bai Ze was quite pleased and patted Jue's head.

I was overjoyed, just like when my son brought home a test paper from school with a perfect score of 100.

Xi carefully moved over.

"What happened to the child's mouth?" Bai Ze noticed the cut on the child's lip and squatted down to take a closer look.

Qing knew her cubs well. Usually, if they were injured, they would come crying for comfort. The way they were behaving now meant they must have done something wrong.

"Tell me, what's wrong?"

The child stammered.

Yan spoke up for him: "That brat, he led Hao and Ying to catch the thorny beast."

"Good heavens, if we come down any later, they'll be riddled with holes."

Qing looked at the two cubs beside her, bent down, and asked gently, "Hao, Ying, are you alright?"

The cubs shook their heads.

Xi muttered under her breath, dissatisfied, "Father, why didn't you ask me?"

Qing asked helplessly, "Are you alright?"

Xi shook her head: "It's nothing."

inflammation:"……"

It's really speechless. How could such a brave man give birth to such a delicate baby?

Xi had originally aimed for the spiky beast's belly, but the moment his lips touched the spikes, he slammed on the brakes, instinctively pulling his teeth back and accidentally cutting his lip, though it wasn't serious.

For the next two days, the wound would sting when I ate hot and flavorful food.

Bai Ze went back to the cave and brought back a handful of candy, which he then distributed to the cubs.

"Thank you, Bai Ze!"

"It's so sweet!"

Wow!

The cubs held it carefully, examining it again and again in the sunlight, before putting it in their mouths and gently licking it.

Their eyes sparkled with tiny, bright stars.

Xi was looking really down just now, but she immediately cheered up after eating the delicious candy.

Hao and Ying were so engrossed in the fruit candies in their hands that they forgot all about the pain in their bottoms.

Xi squatted down next to the stone with the two of them.

Hao and Ying asked Xi hesitantly, "Are we considered to have made up now?"

"Yes." Xi nodded seriously. "I forgive you."

"Yay!" the two children immediately grinned and cheered, "Then we can play together from now on!"

Xi warned in advance: "But if you dare to bully Jue again, I will definitely beat you up again."

Hao and Ying quickly shook their heads: "No way."

They were very confused. Why did Xi think Jue was the one being bullied when they were the ones getting beaten up?

We can't beat them at all.

That's how friendships between children are; conflicts come and go quickly.

Mo picked up the porcupine by its leg and temporarily placed it next to a rock at the entrance of the cave.

Bai Ze was drawn over, but his gaze first fell on Mo's hand, where there were several bloodstains.

"What happened to your hands?" He carefully held Mo's hands, his brows furrowed. "Why are there so many wounds?"

Mo let him hold her without pulling back, saying, "I accidentally got pricked by a thorny beast."

"It looks painful." Bai Ze's eyelashes drooped, and his face fell.

"No—well, it's okay." Mo instinctively wanted to say that it didn't hurt, but seeing Bai Ze's furrowed brows, the words suddenly took a different turn.

Bai Ze: "I'll go find the Great Shaman to get some medicine later."

Although the wounds weren't deep, seeing them lined up was quite distressing.

Mo nodded: "Okay."
