After spreading out the mushrooms, Bai Ze planned to wash all the red dates in the cave and dry them into dried dates for storage, taking advantage of the recent sunny weather.

First, pick out the dates with wormholes and damage, then put the rest back into the animal skin bag. Mo carried it on his shoulder and led Bai Ze to the nearby stream.

After walking through layers of dense forest for a short while, you can hear the gurgling sound of water.

Parting the tangled grass and branches, a stream about two meters wide meanders down from top to bottom, with many stones of different sizes and heights in the middle, and those near the edge are covered with moss.

The water was exceptionally clear. Bai Ze moved some stones by the stream and simply formed a pool. Mo squatted down beside it and poured the red dates from the animal skin bag into the pool, rubbing them back and forth with his hands.

The two squatted side by side. Bai Ze washed two handfuls of water, but his gaze was soon drawn to something in the cracks of the rocks.

He stood up, took off his animal-skin shoes, and waded barefoot into the water. The stream water was still quite cold in this weather, and he gasped when it first touched his skin, but he got used to it after a while.

Mo looked at him suspiciously and asked, "What's wrong?"

"I saw something good," Bai Ze whispered, his eyes shining.

He crept closer to the rock, bent low, and quietly slipped his hand into the water, then quickly closed it when the rock was off guard.

A few small splashes appeared on the water's surface.

"Look!" Bai Ze held up a river shrimp that was only six or seven centimeters long, waved it at Mo, and laughed happily.

The people in the tribe don't eat this kind of thing; the meat is scarce and hard to catch. But seeing that Bai Ze seemed to like it, Mo quickly washed the red dates and put them into the water as well.

He said, "You go up, I'll catch you."

Bai Ze wasn't about to just stand by and watch. He bent over, getting more and more excited as he grabbed at things, and he wanted to flip over every stone he came across.

"Here, here!"

"By that patch of grass!"

Needless to say, Mo's eyesight is exceptional, and coupled with his agile speed, he can almost always catch a target accurately.

Soon, a lot of fish, about the size of a palm, were piled up on the rocks by the stream.

Bai Ze became more and more excited as he caught fish and shrimp, and when he encountered large fish and shrimp, he was so excited that he kept tugging at Mo's clothes.

"Stand still." Mo looked at his swaying little body and couldn't help but grab his arm.

"It's alright, it's alright, Mo, there's something under this rock!" Bai Ze couldn't move it, so he immediately called for help.

Mo bent down and moved the stone aside, but Bai Ze, quick as a flash, grabbed it and splashed water all over Mo's face with the large white and blue fish in his hand.

"Haha!" Bai Ze, his eyelashes glistening with moisture, held the glass high. "Look, we're in for a treat tonight!"

Looking at him, Mo felt inexplicably relaxed, and even smiled, a rare occurrence for her.

Bai Ze paused, then raised the corner of his eye: "Mo, you smiled?"

Mo didn't answer, his gaze falling on Bai Ze's hands and feet, which were red from the cold, and he said in a low voice, "Let's go back."

"Okay." Bai Ze was in a great mood, feeling like he had discovered a good place. "I'll make a few cages and try them out next time."

"Um."

Mo casually tore off a few large leaves to wrap the fish and shrimp, and Bai Ze held them contentedly, glancing down at them every now and then.

After arriving home, he first put the fish and shrimp into a stone basin, added water, and kept them there. Then, together with Mo, he poured the washed red dates onto the stone and spread them out evenly.

Around noon, the sun was shining brightly, warming the skin, and the gentle breeze helped the mushrooms and dates to dry.

Bai Ze was hungry, but since Mo didn't have the habit of eating lunch, there was no need to prepare much food.

He went into the storage room, cut off a piece of lean Hmph Beast meat, chopped it into small pieces with a stone knife, then found a handy stone, washed it clean, and pounded it back and forth on the stone slab.

Mo asked, puzzled, "What's going on?"

Bai Ze twisted his wrist: "I want to grind this Humming Beast meat into mince and make meatballs."

"ball?"

"It's a very delicious food."

Mo reached out and took the stone that Bai Ze was holding, and began to pound the meat in imitation of him.

That force was much stronger than Bai Ze's.

Bai Ze wasn't idle either. He started preparing chopped green onions and minced ginger. Once Mo had pounded the meat to a near-perfect consistency, he put the minced meat, chopped green onions, and minced ginger into a bowl and mixed them together. He then added three duck eggs, sprinkled salt on top, and mixed it well.

Add water and ginger slices to a stone pot and bring to a boil. Use your left hand to squeeze the seasoned minced meat into round shapes using the space between your thumb and forefinger. Use your right hand to pick them up and put them into the boiling water. Then add some tender green wild vegetables. Once the meatballs float to the surface, sprinkle with chopped green onions and salt, and they are ready to be served.

Mo was stunned. Just like that, with a squeeze and a swipe of his two hands, small round balls appeared in the pot.

The pink accents with touches of green are quite pretty.

"This is meatball soup." Bai Ze served himself and Mo a bowl each.

The meatballs are bouncy and juicy, the soup is delicious, and the wild vegetables are refreshing.

Mo ate one after another, and the whole bowl of soup was gone in no time. After finishing, he licked his lips as if he still wanted more.

He couldn't help but say, "This dish called meatball soup is delicious."

"If you make it next time, I can pound more meat."

Bai Ze laughed and said, "There's still some in the pot, have another bowl."

Mo nodded, then went to serve himself, but not too much, leaving a lot for Bai Ze, which of course ended up in his stomach.

In the afternoon, when the ink bowl was half-washed, the clan chief sent someone to summon him.

Bai Ze said he would finish the rest, but Mo shook his head and insisted on finishing before leaving.

After Mo left, Bai Ze wandered around the cave out of boredom, his gaze suddenly falling on the pile of bright red hawthorns in the storage room.

Mo also brought back honey this morning, which was very sweet.

After considering it, he started to take action and prepared to make apple and hawthorn cake, which is appetizing and refreshing.

Remove the cores from the hawthorn and apple, cut them into small pieces, put them in a pot with water and cook until they soften. Then mash them into a paste, add honey and continue to simmer over low heat, stirring constantly. Once it thickens, pour it out and let it cool.

Since Bai Ze didn't have a mold, he laid the leaves in a large stone bowl, poured in the hawthorn and apple puree, and then put the stone bowl in water to cool it down.

While waiting, Bai Ze scooped out a few more spoonfuls of honey, put them in a pot and simmered them over low heat. Once the honey in the pot bubbled and turned caramel color, he poured it onto the leaves in small clumps.

He broke off some thin twigs, peeled off the outer bark, washed them clean, and put them in before the syrup set.

Just like modern lollipops, but even healthier, all-natural with zero additives, filling the entire cave with the aroma of fruit and the sweet smell of sugar.

After Bai Ze finished doing all that, he took a few pieces of animal hide from the cave. Jue's clothes were a bit too small and uncomfortable to wear, so he sat outside the cave in the sun, thinking about making some clothes for the child.

The red one looked like a fox fur. Bai Ze picked up a charcoal stick and gestured with it, thinking that it would make a nice coat. Jue was fair-skinned, so it would probably look good on her.

The grayish-white piece is perfect for making pants, and the extra piece can be used to make a scarf.
