Huayu Entertainment: The Birth of a Succubus Top Star

At this year's Quality Ceremony, the only one who could outshine the "Fairy Sister" was Gu Zhiyan.

This makes one marvel at how thick the fairy sister's health bar is.

While others need to continuously film, market, and appear on variety shows to "replenish" their popularity, Liu Yifei comes with a massive amount of national sentiment as her foundation. Neither a hiatus, low-scoring works, nor controversies among casual viewers can deplete her core strength. She has a high tolerance for error, long-lasting power, and top-notch resilience. Her ability to withstand risks is far ahead of all other actresses born in the 85s. Like an unkillable tank in a game, she is the number one tank in the Chinese entertainment industry, a well-deserved title.

There's no way around it, the "Fairy Sister" has such a strong foundation of national affection, her basic strength is maxed out.

She debuted at the age of 15 and immediately produced three nationally beloved characters: Wang Yuyan, Zhao Ling'er, and Xiaolongnu, who are collective memories of youth for several generations from the 70s to the 00s.

This kind of sentiment accumulated over more than a decade is a unique "original thick skin" that others don't have. Even if she hasn't acted for many years, the first impression that passersby have of her is always "fairy sister," with an innate filter of goodwill.

If a female star disappears for an extended period, she is easily replaced by a newcomer. However, if she disappears for three to five years, the public's memory of her will not fade.

Gu Zhiyan walked the red carpet last, entered the venue, and exchanged pleasantries with Yu Hewei, Wu Gang, and others for a while before the Quality Ceremony began.

As a highly anticipated industry event, the TV Drama Quality Ceremony has always adhered to the evaluation criterion of "content is king," recognizing high-quality works that are profound in thought, exquisite in art, and excellent in production, as well as the quality drama stars behind these works, thus contributing to the continuous improvement and prosperity of the quality of Chinese TV drama content.

Picking the "fruit of quality" in Shanghai every spring has become a ritual and a source of pride in the industry.

Well, those are just platitudes; take them with a grain of salt.

Over the next two years, both the television and film industries will showcase all sorts of bizarre practices to the public.

Awards were presented one after another.

"Joy of Life 2", "Six Sisters", and "City within a City" were awarded the "Annual Quality Model Drama", and 87-year-old Wu Yanshu was named "Quality Master".

Gu Zhiyan and the "Fairy Sister" were jointly awarded the "Star of Outstanding Quality," the most prestigious individual award at the Quality Ceremony.

The TV Drama Quality Ceremony is indeed widely recognized in the industry as a precursor to the Magnolia Awards.

In the past three years, over 83% of the winners of the "Annual Outstanding Quality Star" award at the Quality Ceremony have been nominated for Best Actor/Actress at the Magnolia Awards that year, and many winners of the Quality Ceremony have subsequently won the Magnolia Award for Best Actor/Actress.

However, this can only be used as a reference and cannot be equated with the results of the Magnolia Awards.

Thinking of this, Gu Zhiyan couldn't help but recall that the feud between the Fairy Sister and Bai Yulan started in this year.

In the previous life, before the Magnolia Awards, there were several other awards, including the CCTV Drama Annual Ceremony, the Shanghai TV Quality Ceremony, and the Drama Directors Conference. These awards were known as the Magnolia "precursor awards," and the Best Actress award was swept away by the gods.

Therefore, the "Fairy Sister" can be said to have attended the nomination banquet as one of the top contenders. According to reports, she even turned down the LV fashion show, where she is a spokesperson, in order to attend the Magnolia Awards banquet.

However, when it came time to walk the red carpet the next day, the "Fairy Sister" was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the entire cast of the nominated film "The Story of Rose" appeared on the red carpet carrying yellow roses, creating a contrasting scene of "roses present, but the lead actress absent," which was full of irony.

An insider revealed that the "Fairy Sister" originally planned to attend, but after learning at 5 pm that she had not won an award, she immediately canceled her trip and flew from Shanghai to Beijing.

There are also rumors that the organizers gave her a "signal" that she would win an award, which is why she went, but then the organizers changed their minds, so she didn't go.

Of course, these claims need to be verified.

The "Fairy Sister's" actions drew ridicule from many netizens, who questioned whether she was a sore loser, while others said she had torn off her "decency" and was the biggest loser in the whole affair.

The Best Actress award at this year's Magnolia Awards went to Song Jia, who last year sparked controversy online for her hairstyle featuring a rat tail and a birdcage.

Ironically, just two days after the 31st Magnolia Awards ceremony in 2026 ended, the official report released the final results, which included the entry "One year since Liu Yifei's escape from the Magnolia Awards".

The problem is that the "Fairy Sister" had no works nominated this year, nor did she attend any events, so this year's awards have nothing to do with her. However, the official summary brought up the old story of her being absent from the nomination last year for "The Story of Rose".

This move was criticized by netizens as "ugly behavior," and they bluntly called it "an absurd attempt to gain attention," believing that the award organizers had abandoned all sense of decorum in pursuit of traffic.

A year later, public opinion has reversed for the "fairy sister" who was previously ridiculed for "not being able to accept defeat".

Well, reality is just that magical; the internet is always turn-based.

Thinking about this, Gu Zhiyan wondered if he should find a reason to get the fairy sister not to attend this year's Magnolia Gala.

However, after thinking about it, I decided against it. With the personality of the fairy sister, she wouldn't care about these things at all.

Hmm, maybe we can ask the organizers if they've given her any "signals" that she'll win. If they have, then Gu Zhiyan can use her connections to make the award a reality.

Gu Zhiyan had never thought about this before; she believed that fair competition was the way to go and that ability should be the deciding factor.

If the skill gap is small, it doesn't matter if you don't give an award, but if you treat people like monkeys, then there's something to talk about.

If others can take it, why can't the fairy sister take it?

This is something we can try. Let's do it first and see if it works or not. If it doesn't work, there's no loss.

Gu Zhiyan didn't care whether he won the award or not. He didn't need the award, so he just let things take their course.

After the quality awards ceremony, Gu Zhiyan spent another night with the older and younger women. The next day, instead of returning to the "Guardians of the Palace" crew, she set off for Pengcheng.

"Kung Fu Women's Soccer" started filming in Shenzhen some time ago.

He took this leave to take care of his promise to Stephen Chow for a cameo role.

Cough cough, he wasn't filming multiple projects at once. When he asked for leave, he had already explained the matter to Yuan Heping, who not only readily agreed but also wanted to grant Gu Zhiyan a few more days off.

Gu Zhiyan politely declined, saying that it wouldn't take up much time and that she would return to filming as soon as possible.

Before heading to the set of "Kung Fu Women's Soccer", Gu Zhiyan had already informed Stephen Chow in advance, but she did not tell Dilraba, intending to give her a surprise.

Upon arriving at the film set, Gu Zhiyan made a phone call to Stephen Chow, who personally came out to greet him and led him to the set.

At Gu Zhiyan's request, Stephen Chow did not tell anyone that Gu Zhiyan was coming.

His arrival on set immediately drew gasps of surprise!
