Huayu Entertainment: The Birth of a Succubus Top Star

Gu Zhiyan knew so much about what was going on inside because Hunan TV had contacted him some time ago.

The goal is to get the drama "Go Go Squid!" that Gu Zhiyan just finished filming broadcast on Hunan TV.

The flop of "The Rise of Phoenixes" is not only a financial and reputational loss for Hunan TV, but it also has a significant impact on its future advertising revenue.

To put it bluntly, GG (the broadcaster) was also badly scammed and has serious doubts about the ratings of Hunan TV's future dramas.

Following "The Rise of Phoenixes" is "Many Years You Were Late", starring Huang Xiaoming, Yin Tao, Qin Hailu, and others.

The sponsorship and viewership of GG were not ideal.

Hunan TV urgently needed to salvage the situation, and just then, the drama "Go Go Squid!" starring Gu Zhiyan finished filming.

The top management at Hunan TV knew they had to take it on!

Is there anyone more reliable than Gu Zhiyan to salvage the current situation?

The answer is no!

He has never lost a drama since his debut and is undoubtedly the king of anti-drama shows, a guarantee of high ratings.

Moreover, once the deal is finalized, GG merchants will definitely flock to it.

They may lack confidence in Hunan TV, but they have absolute confidence in Gu Zhiyan.

The reason for contacting Gu Zhiyan is that, as one of the investors in this drama, Gu Zhiyan has a lot of influence.

On the other hand, maintaining a good relationship with Gu Zhiyan will require his full cooperation in subsequent promotional activities.

To this end, Hunan TV spared no expense, offering a price for the first-round broadcasting rights that far exceeded the market price.

It's a fool not to make money if you can get it. What difference does it make which TV station broadcasts it?

Moreover, Hunan TV is among the top-tier satellite TV channels in China.

Ultimately, "Go Go Squid!", which had just finished filming, was acquired by Hunan TV.

Hunan TV plans to air "Go Go Squid!" as its opening drama for next year during prime time.

To be honest, this timeframe is a bit rushed.

Post-production has only just begun.

But money is everything, and Hunan TV also set aside a sum of money as a bonus for the post-production staff.

As long as the post-production is completed on schedule, this substantial bonus will be everyone's.

Currently, the entire post-production process is operating at full capacity, with everyone working overtime to meet the deadline.

Therefore, if you want employees to work hard, don't make grand promises; just pay them enough.

……

Nini is really in a bad situation right now. She had already moved from the film industry to the television industry and thought she could make up for her losses with TV dramas, but unexpectedly, they flopped completely.

The original female-centric drama was changed into a male-centric drama by Chen Kun, so I won't say much about that. Now that the drama has flopped, Chen Kun's fans are actually trying to shift the blame onto her.

This is absolutely outrageous!

Nini now hates Chen Kun to the core.

She's a flop; her script rewrites are terrible and she can't carry the ratings, which has dragged down her resources again!

After complaining for a while, Nini said to Gu Zhiyan, "Little brother, if there are any good projects later, please help your older sister out."

Compared to the others, Nini, who was so disillusioned with life, was even more eager for the opportunity to work with Gu Zhiyan.

"I definitely will if I have the chance." Gu Zhiyan nodded.

The reason he agreed so readily was because he currently had no projects and was in a lull in his schedule.

To be honest, I'm a little unaccustomed to suddenly having so much free time. Looks like I need to urge the production team of "Better Days" to hurry up.

The female lead is still dragging her feet and we haven't gotten anything done yet.

Just as I was thinking about "Better Days," someone brought up this movie.

As soon as Gu Zhiyan sat down in her seat, Li Bingbing came up to her.

Although there was no such thing as a main table, the table where Gu Zhiyan was sitting was the most central round table in the event venue, closest to the stage and the host area.

It gathered the most distinguished guests of the evening and could be considered the "de facto core area".

Huang Xiaoming, Li Bingbing, Zhang Ziyi, Liu Jialing, Xu Zheng and others were all at this table.

Even celebrities like Yang Mi, Zhao Liying, Jing Tian, and Fairy Sister could only sit at the table next to them.

"Little Yan, has the female lead for 'Better Days' been decided yet?" Li Bingbing asked.

"No, I was just about to urge the production team. It's been so long and nothing's been finalized yet. I don't have any acting projects right now, so I'd like to get on set as soon as possible," Gu Zhiyan shook her head. "Does Sister Bingbing have any ideas about this role?"

Speaking of this, Gu Zhiyan couldn't help but think of another Bingbing sister.

Just a few days ago, Fan Bingbing's case was finally settled. She was required to pay back taxes, late fees, and fines, totaling 8.84 million yuan, which is close to 9 million yuan.

Fan Bingbing is also jokingly called "Sister Nine Hundred Million" by netizens.

"I do have an idea. I have a pretty good young lady working under me, and I'd like to try to get her this role." Li Bingbing nodded.

Li Bingbing owns his own company, Hesong Media.

Gu Zhiyan shook her head: "Sister Bingbing, I don't have the final say on who gets the female lead."

"Are you trying to fool your sister too?" Li Bingbing asked, feigning anger.

"I'm not just trying to appease you, sister. When I kicked Zhou Dongyu out, I promised the production team that I would never interfere with the selection of the female lead," Gu Zhiyan explained.

Li Bingbing: "I see. But even if you promise not to interfere, the production team will still consider your opinion. And if you can't get the lead role, the second lead role is fine too. Please help out then."

Gu Zhiyan nodded: "No problem, I'll definitely help if I can."

Li Bingbing's plan was shrewd: to target both the lead and second lead actresses simultaneously. If he couldn't get the lead actress, he would settle for the second lead actress.

"Thank you in advance, little brother," Li Bingbing smiled, then asked, "Do you have time tomorrow? I'll treat you to dinner and introduce you to the girl while I'm at it."

"Alright, then let's do it tomorrow at noon."

Gu Zhiyan really had nothing to do, so he nodded in agreement.

The matter was settled, and the charity gala officially began.

The event follows a similar format every year: opening performances and speeches by guests, a charity auction, and voluntary donations from guests...

Finally, we move on to the annual tradition: a group photo of all the celebrities.

The group photo is a highlight every year. As is customary, the way celebrities stand on stage can reveal their status, and who sits next to whom can show how close or distant they are. So, netizens have developed a keen eye for these details every year.

But today's situation is completely different from previous years. When the celebrities went on stage to take photos, they were very careful about taking the center position, and no one dared to stand there.

Since Zhang Shaohan was pushed to the center area in the chaos last year, sitting in the same row as Liu Jialing, Zhang Ziyi and others, instantly triggering a public opinion tsunami of "fighting for the center position", celebrities now avoid the center position like the plague, for fear of being labeled as "fighting for the center position" if they are not careful.

In previous years, it was all about scrambling and fighting; this year, it's all about giving things away.

However, the whole process was just as awkward and chaotic!
