Huayu Entertainment: The Birth of a Succubus Top Star

Aside from bringing Gu Zhiyan a little trouble, the title of "Mr. Billion-Dollar Box Office" brought him a great deal of benefits.

Recently, many new brands have offered endorsement contracts, with endorsement fees increasing by at least 20% compared to before.

Many brands that Gu Zhiyan already endorses have started to frequently contact Xiuxiu, trying to poach her and eyeing her endorsement contracts for the next cycle.

This news was naturally leaked by an insider at Gu Zhiyan's company.

The original brands were no longer willing to sit still; they had to secure Gu Zhiyan's next endorsement contract and were determined not to let their competitors poach her.

Whatever conditions the other party offers, we'll offer even more!

Many brands have even proactively increased endorsement fees for the next few years of their contracts before the contracts have expired.

Recently, CBN Weekly, in conjunction with Weibo, released the "2017 China's Most Commercially Valuable Celebrities Ranking," with Gu Zhiyan topping the overall list!

Another top contestant, the popular young idol Lu Han, ranked second on the overall list.

Zhao Liying ranked third on the overall list, topping the list of female celebrities, while the controversial Yang Mi ranked fourth.

The fifth to tenth places are: Fan Bingbing, Zhou Dongyu, Hu Ge, Wu Jing, Liu Tao, and Cheng Long.

Gu Zhiyan naturally saw the list, but didn't pay it any mind.

For artists, their work speaks for itself.

As long as your work is strong enough and your achievements are good enough, you'll get all the opportunities you're meant to have.

Gu Zhiyan then refused all interviews and focused on filming on set. She had already missed a lot of filming time due to her recent movie promotions.

But the tree may wish to be still, but the wind will not cease.

"Brother Xiaoyan, take a look at this." That day, Xiuxiu rushed over and handed Gu Zhiyan a folder.

Gu Zhiyan opened it and saw that the contract Fan Bingbing mentioned last time had finally arrived.

These people are so generous; even he couldn't help but be tempted.

Most people really can't resist this temptation.

This thing is like honey coated with poison. Once you accept it and submit to it, you will slowly be corrupted, degenerate, and become deeply trapped in it, unable to extricate yourself.

"Brother Xiaoyan, I've heard of this stuff. Although many people in the industry do it, it's best if we don't get involved."

Xiuxiu spoke up anxiously, her expression showing that she was afraid Gu Zhiyan would accept the gift.

Gu Zhiyan knew what Xiuxiu was thinking just by looking at her expression, and gave her a light tap on the forehead: "What are you thinking! Do you think I'm that kind of person? Don't forget what I studied!"

Xiuxiu gave an embarrassed smile: "Brother Xiaoyan, they're just confused because they're concerned. So how should we reply?"

Gu Zhiyan thought for a moment and said, "Just reply to them like this: Given your weak legal awareness and lack of legal knowledge, we are now offering you a free legal education class."

"Okay, then copy Article 146 of the Civil Code, Article 63 of the Tax Collection and Administration Law, and Article 201 of the Criminal Law to the other party verbatim."

"Finally, I'd like to offer you sixteen words: 'There must be laws to follow; laws must be followed; enforcement must be strict; violations must be investigated. You're welcome!'"

"That's fine, send it to them as I said."

"This is practically a direct hit right in our faces!" Xiu Xiu hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Brother Xiao Yan, isn't this a bit too much..."

Gu Zhiyan waved his hand: "It's alright. Just send it to them as I said, word for word. That's already giving them face."

Some people, used to being local tyrants in the entertainment industry, have become so arrogant that they think capital can control everything and do whatever they want, especially when dealing with celebrities, thinking they can be manipulated at will.

They seem to have forgotten that this is China, not a capitalist society, where the sword of Damocles hangs over their heads.

Gu Zhiyan was well aware of these people's tactics; it was nothing more than "inviting them to dinner, beheading them, and then taking them in as dogs."

This contract is basically a "treat"; once we accept, everyone's on the same page, and we'll make money together—it's a win-win situation for everyone.

If the order was refused, the next step would naturally be "beheading".

Thinking of this, Gu Zhiyan felt inexplicably excited, hoping that the other party would not back down and would make a move as soon as possible.

Indeed, men are inherently "combative" in their genes.

Gu Zhiyan had no intention of exposing the secret contract; it wasn't worth it!

On the one hand, he only had a blank contract, which did not constitute any evidence at all. This is why some people dared to openly present the contract.

If you sign, great, we're all on the same side, there's no risk at all.

If you didn't sign it, that's fine too; the contract isn't valid.

Collecting evidence is a time-consuming and laborious task. Besides, Cui Yongyuan has probably already done most of the work. It's highly likely that before he even finished collecting evidence, Cui Yongyuan's side has already exploded.

Most importantly, Gu Zhiyan still wants to have fun in the entertainment industry. If he were to expose this, he would immediately become the target of public criticism, and no one would dare to cooperate with him!

Anyway, there's still Cui Yongyuan. It's already March, and Cui Yongyuan will make his move in two months.

Hearing Gu Zhiyan say this, Xiuxiu nodded: "Okay, Brother Xiaoyan, I'll go and do it right away."

Now that Brother Xiaoyan has made up his mind, she just needs to carry it out.

……

The office of the general manager of a listed entertainment company.

"Mr. Wang, Gu Zhiyan has replied." The secretary reminded him cautiously.

"Oh, how so?"

"Well... you'd better take a look yourself. I've already forwarded the email to your inbox," the secretary said hesitantly.

Do I have to see it myself?

Upon seeing this, Wang Er guessed that something must have gone wrong.

He opened the email and immediately felt his blood pressure spike. He laughed angrily, "Fine, fine... This guy's really asking for it, lecturing me on law now. Does he really think he's someone important?"

So what if you're a top star? So what if you're famous?

He's just a minor celebrity, isn't he? He's young and arrogant, and doesn't know his own limitations.

Young people, you don't understand this society. Do you really think everyone is equal?

In this society, social classes are everywhere, and an ordinary person may not be able to achieve upward social mobility even if they spend their entire life trying.

Since you don't understand, then I'll give you a proper lesson.

However, considering that Gu Zhiyan is currently enjoying great popularity and his influence is far beyond that of ordinary minor artists, Wang Er decided to condescend to meet him and give him a chance to reform.

If the other party still doesn't know what's good for them, then he can't blame himself for being ruthless.

Although there were rumors that Gu Zhiyan had some connections, Wang Er didn't take it to heart at all.

He's been in the entertainment industry for decades; he's experienced all sorts of ups and downs.

The entertainment industry may seem to be of low rank, but it is a very closed circle with intricate relationships and intertwined interests. Moreover, it involves cultural and ideological issues, so not just anyone can get involved.

For people who aren't at a high enough level, Wang Er doesn't need to give them any face at all.

What extraordinary background does a top student who graduated from Tsinghua University really have that he would need to come to the entertainment industry?

Wang Er thought that there didn't seem to be any problem.

But there are always exceptions, and some people like to take the road less traveled!
