Huayu Entertainment: The Birth of a Succubus Top Star

Actors with lower status often have fewer scenes but spend more time on set, a common phenomenon in the film and television industry.

Big-name actors' schedules are usually calculated by the day or even by the hour, and their fees are extremely high.

For the lead actor, staying an extra day means costs of hundreds of thousands or even millions of yuan.

The crew had to work like a jigsaw puzzle, completing all the main actors' scenes efficiently and in the shortest amount of time so that they could leave the crew on time to move on to the next project.

In contrast, lower-profile actors have more flexible schedules and receive much lower pay.

Having them stay on set for extended periods increases costs for the production company to a limited extent, while ensuring flexibility in filming, making it a very cost-effective option.

To accommodate the lead actors' schedules and the overall filming plan, the production team requires them to be "on set the whole time" and ready to be called upon at any time.

We might film one scene today, and another three days later.

Essentially, this is an efficient way of allocating resources within the film and television industrialization system.

By sacrificing the time flexibility of lower-profile actors, the efficiency of high-profile actors is maximized.

For actors at the bottom of the industry, this is a difficult but often necessary "apprenticeship" and "reflection period".

Sister Meng is in this situation now; what can she do when she's Little Karami?

Recently, Sister Meng signed with a new agency, and her resources are much better than before.

This company isn't very well-known; it's Yuekai Film & Television.

But the owner of this company is no nobody.

Jia Shikai, a famously sensitive agent in the entertainment industry, is affectionately known as "Spicy Strip Kai".

Jia Shikai has a rich professional resume, having worked for companies such as Tianyu Media, Dongwang Culture, and Tangren. He has also been responsible for the work of artists such as Na Ying and Chen Kun.

He later served as vice president of Huanrui Century, and after leaving Huanrui, he founded Yuekai Film & Television.

When Jia Shikai was with Tangren Film & Television, he served as the director of talent agency, responsible for the agency work of Tangren's core artists such as Hu Ge and Liu Shishi.

After the sensational "Little Lion Bloodbath" incident, Liu Shishi's fan base became famous overnight.

Some netizens joked that his fighting power was exaggerated, and even said that his enthusiasm back then was comparable to the powerful Tianya group that could deal with gossip storms such as "Yan Z Gate", handle public issues such as "saving giant pandas", and dare to confront controversial figures such as Wang Sicong. He became the synonym for "fans who can't be messed with" in the early fan circle.

From then on, Jia Shikai was also known as the "leader of the online army".

This guy treats his artists well, always at the forefront of online feuds, readily jumping into battle at the slightest disagreement, even swearing for his artists. It's hard to imagine that this guy is a Buddhist youth.

Besides Sister Meng, Yang Yang and Song Qian are also artists under his company.

It seems that Gu Zhiyan and this guy have some kind of complicated relationship.

Recently, Sister Meng has been "harassed" by Jia Shikai.

After attending the Weibo Night event, Sister Meng went back to the company for a short while. Since both events were in Beijing, it didn't take up much of her time.

As soon as she arrived at the company, Jia Shikai called her into his office.

"Ziyi, how's work lately? Don't hesitate to let the company know if you're having any difficulties..."

The company boss immediately started showering Meng with concern, leaving her a little bewildered.

This is the kind of treatment only Yang Yang and Song Qian get. When did it become her turn, a nobody?

Unsolicited kindness is either a sign of ulterior motives or theft!

"Boss, just say what you want to say." Sister Meng looked warily at Jia Shikai, who had a "malicious" look on his face and a "lecherous" smile.

If the other party makes any unreasonable demands, she is prepared to fight to the death.

Okay, first shout loudly to attract attention, then call Brother Yan for help...

Jia Shikai: ...

As a seasoned veteran in the entertainment industry, Jia Shikai knew from Meng Ziyi's expression that he had misjudged him and thought Meng was a predatory boss trying to take advantage of him.

"Ahem... Don't be afraid, I'm not the kind of person you think I am," Jia Shikai decided to stop beating around the bush, "I heard you're quite close to Gu Zhiyan?"

"what?"

Only then did Sister Meng realize that she had misunderstood the boss. However, she knew she couldn't make a move on Brother Yan, so she shook her head and said, "We just know each other, we're not that close."

Jia Shikai: You think you're kidding me? You think I don't go online?

If you're not familiar with each other, will he introduce you to a group of big-name celebrities at the Weibo Night event?

Who doesn't know you're "Sister Meng" now?

This is like using your own boss as a personal notebook for protection!

"You don't need to be so wary of me. I don't mean anything by it; I just want to introduce everyone sometime. Maybe we'll have a chance to work together in the future, which would benefit you too, wouldn't it?"

"Alright then."

Although Sister Meng said that, she didn't really mean it.

We need to consult Xiaoyan's opinion on this matter. She can't make decisions on her own. What if it causes trouble for Xiaoyan?

After returning to the company, Sister Meng didn't dare to linger and immediately set off back to the film set. She wasn't a big star and didn't have any special privileges, so she couldn't afford to be late.

The atmosphere in the entire "Ever Night" crew was actually quite good, since the main actors were mostly young people.

Sister Meng was just complaining a little to Gu Zhiyan; she didn't really think about anything else. Little Karami wasn't worthy of thinking about it.

"Meng Ziyi, someone has come to visit the set."

When the crew informed Sister Meng, she was quite surprised.

who can that be?

Could it be her best friend Tongtong?

When the curious Sister Meng saw Gu Zhiyan, her face was filled with undisguised surprise.

"Brother Yan, what brings you here? Haven't you been very busy lately?"

"The movie just finished filming, and I happened to have a few days of free time, so I came to see you."

Sister Meng: Waaah, Brother Xiaoyan is so kind, I'm so touched.

At that moment, Sister Meng didn't care about anything else and impulsively threw herself into Gu Zhiyan's arms.

A crew member who witnessed this scene said: "The rumors are actually true. It seems we need to change our attitude towards Meng Ziyi from now on."

"Okay, there are still many people around."

Gu Zhiyan's reminder made Sister Meng realize that she had been a bit abrupt.

"Brother Yan, will there be any trouble?"

"It's okay, I'll talk to the director later."

As if on cue, before Gu Zhiyan could even visit, the director, who had heard that Gu Zhiyan was visiting the set, had already come over to say hello.

The director of "Ever Night" is a female director, and she was very enthusiastic when she met Gu Zhiyan.

This director, who shares the same name as the celebrity Yang Yang, is no ordinary person either. Her works include "Holding Hands," "Heaven and Earth, People's Hearts," and "The Heart Surgeon." She will also direct "Dream Record" and "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality" in the future.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the director waved his hand and gave Sister Meng a half-day off.

Anyway, Meng Ziyi spends most of his time waiting on set, so why not do him a favor?
