Ed and Rowling turned pale.

Although they were also famous exorcists, they did seem somewhat weak in the face of true power.

"I suggest you dispose of these things after this is over."

Cao Kun turned around and looked at the two of them: "Burn it, melt it down, or find a place that can truly suppress it and bury it."

Don't stay at home like a ticking time bomb.

Ed looked at the room full of his collection, a hint of reluctance flashing in his eyes.

This is, after all, the culmination of half a lifetime of hard work.

But thinking of the previous prophecy and the strength Cao Kun had shown, he gritted his teeth and said, "Alright, once we survive this time, we'll deal with it."

Cao Kun nodded, then took a walk around the collection room.

He fully activated his spiritual senses and even used the aura-observation technique.

But he found no trace of the nun.

"Not here."

Cao Kun walked out of the basement and then walked around the villa upstairs and downstairs.

The result was the same.

Although there was some yin energy in the room, it was emanating from the collection room and there was no residual demonic energy of the level of Valak.

The three of them returned to the living room and sat down.

"Master Cao, isn't it here?" Rowling asked anxiously.

"It's cunning, or... the time isn't right."

Cao Kun leaned back on the sofa, his fingers lightly tapping his knees.

He was recalling the plot of The Conjuring 2.

In the movie, Valak's true goal, or rather the opportunity that brought him to this, is not in the United States.

But it was in Enfield, in Country Y, across the ocean.

There is a family there who are experiencing inhuman torture.

The Warrens were targeted by Valack because of their involvement in that case, and they almost lost their lives.

If we're going to solve this, we have to get to the root of the problem.

"Have you been paying attention to news from abroad lately? Or has the church given you any new assignments?" Cao Kun suddenly asked.

Ed paused for a moment: "Not for now. We've been anxious about that prophecy lately and have turned down all our work."

Cao Kun pondered for a moment, then said, "Go and investigate."

"Investigate what?"

"Investigate a family named Hodgson."

Cao Kun said with certainty, "It should be in Country Y. Hmm, Country M is also possible. A single mother with four children."

Pay close attention to the girl named Jenny.

"Hodgson?" Ed looked bewildered. "Who is that? Is she related to that nun?"

"It's very important."

Cao Kun stood up: "The nun's true form is right there."

If you want to live, if you want to break the prophecy of certain death.

We need to take the initiative and go there to find it.

Although Rowling didn't understand why, her spiritual intuition told her that Cao Kun was right.

"I'll contact my friends at church right now."

Ed didn't ask any more questions, picked up the phone, and went to his study.

Cao Kun walked to the window and looked at the gloomy sky outside.

Since Vallak wants to play, let's go to its home turf and uproot it.

Less than half an hour later, Ed hung up the phone and strode into the living room.

"Found it."

Aide said urgently, "It's not in Y country, it's in Enfield, Connecticut."

Coincidentally, the place is also called Enfield.

Peggy Hodgson, a single mother with two daughters and two sons.

Local police have responded, reportedly because the furniture moved on its own in full view of the public.

Cao Kun stood up and straightened his cuffs: "Let's go."

Without any hesitation, the three set off immediately.

Enfield is not too far away; it only takes a few hours to drive to the somewhat dilapidated community.

The sky was overcast, and a light drizzle was falling.

The old, two-story wooden house stood alone at the end of the street, its walls peeling and the swings in the yard creaking in the wind.

The car came to a stop.

Cao Kun did not get out of the car immediately.

He rolled down the car window, narrowed his eyes, and his spiritual senses flooded the entire house.

Under the aura-observation technique, the house was tightly enveloped in a layer of gray-black mist.

It was a stale, resentful, and stubbornly cold atmosphere.

Something's not right.

Cao Kun muttered to himself.

Ed unbuckled his seatbelt and turned around to ask, "What's wrong, Master Cao? Did you find anything?"

"The yin energy is very strong."

Cao Kun looked at the tightly closed window on the second floor, "But this smell... is too 'dirty,' but not 'evil' enough."

If it were Valak, one of the seventy-two demons of Solomon, his aura shouldn't be this weak.

Rowling was pale, her hands gripping the cross on her chest tightly: "Perhaps it's hiding something?"

"Two possibilities."

Cao Kun pushed open the car door and got out, his leather shoes stepping on the wet cement floor.

"Either it hasn't truly arrived yet, and this is just an outpost."

Or... it hides itself so well that even the 'original inhabitants' of this house are unaware of its existence.

Ed and Rowling exchanged a glance, their expressions growing even more serious.

The three of them walked to the door, and Ed rang the doorbell.

After a long while, the door opened a crack.

A middle-aged woman with a haggard face and sunken eyes peeked out.

She held a cigarette between her fingers, her eyes wary and weary.

"Who are you? Reporters? I told you to leave us alone!"

Peggy Hodgson's voice was hoarse, tinged with near-collapse and hysteria.

"Ms. Hodgson, I am Ed Warren, and this is my wife, Rowling."

Eddard spoke gently and produced a letter of introduction from the church, saying, "We are sent by the church to help you."

Peggy paused for a moment, her wariness fading slightly, but then a wave of embarrassment washed over her.

She glanced at the three men's respectable attire, then at Cao Kun's expensive custom-made suit.

"church?"

Peggy nervously clutched the hem of her clothes. "But... I don't have any money to pay you."

My husband ran off with someone else, and I'm raising four children on my own. I don't even have money to fix the water pipes..."

Cao Kun stood behind, his expression indifferent.

He had already received the Warrens' checks; he hadn't intended to keep the money from them anyway.

You can't squeeze much profit out of these low-income families.

Of course, this is from his perspective.

For others in Country M, it's a different story.

"Ms. Hodgson, please rest assured."

Ed interrupted her with a smile, "This is a commission from the church, completely free of charge. We just want to help the children."

"free?"

Peggy's tears welled up instantly. She threw away her cigarette butt and covered her face with her hands: "Thank God...please, please come in."

She opened the door and let the three of them in.

Cao Kun stepped into the house.

A musty, musty smell mixed with dampness hit me.

The room was dimly lit, and the furniture was old but fairly tidy.

However, the chilly feeling was even more pronounced than outside.

Cao Kun's gaze swept across the living room and landed on a worn-out brown leather armchair.

The sofa was facing the TV, and there were obvious dents in the cushions, as if someone had just been sitting there.

"The children are all upstairs and too scared to come down."

Peggy closed the door, her voice trembling: "It's been terrible lately."

The bed vibrates on its own, and the chair slides across the floor.

Jenny…my second daughter Jenny, she can even make a man's voice.”

Cao Kun didn't reply; he walked straight to the old sofa.

He reached out and hovered above the sofa, but didn't touch it.

There remains an extremely stubborn obsession there.
