Swish!

A golden hue was reflected by the flashlight beam.

Inside the box, gold coins with intricate patterns were neatly stacked.

Gold coins with slight impurities

Effect: Can be refined into the game material [Gold Ingot], which can be used as currency in some game worlds.

Lin Yu's eyes lit up, and he put all the gold coins into his backpack without hesitation.

He then did the same thing, opening the remaining four boxes in succession.

Two of the boxes were filled with gold coins, while the other two contained gemstones, jewelry, and other items.

Unfortunately, these items were not recognized as valuable by the system; they were merely decorations or luxury goods, not materials, and therefore of little significance to Lin Yu.

If Lin Yu had enough compartments in his backpack, he could have taken it all, but it was clearly not enough.

"Not bad, three boxes of gold coins, not a bad haul." Lin Yu was quite satisfied.

These gold coins are a very valuable resource, whether they are melted down into gold ingots as materials or used as hard currency in some worlds.

After his experience in the game, Lin Yu understood that even in the game world, money is a very important resource.

After collecting the gold coins, Lin Yu turned his gaze to other corners of the basement. On the other side of the wall, away from the boxes, there were some weapons and armor piled up.

Lin Yu quickly walked over to check, but his mood soon sank again. Most of the weapons and armor were severely rusted or covered with cracks and dents, and the system message was "Severely damaged and unusable".

He searched through the pieces one by one and finally found a relatively complete breastplate among a pile of broken plate armor parts.

Wiping away the thick layer of dust revealed the silvery-white metal and the faded cross emblem beneath.

【Holy Knight Breastplate (Fragment)】

Category: Armor

Attribute: Physical

Rank: Bronze

Defense: 35 (Severely Damaged)

Durability: 18/50

effect:

Holy Light (Passive): Reduces attack damage from dark creatures by a fixed 20 points.

Description: A breastplate that has withstood a brutal battle. The faint remnants of holy light can still cause some trouble for dark creatures.

-

"Another Holy Knight?" Lin Yu raised an eyebrow. It seems that the Holy Knight series is a complete set of equipment. He wondered if collecting the whole set would give him the set bonus in the game.

Lin Yu thought for a moment, then wiped the breastplate clean from the inside out before putting it on.

The cold metallic feel was palpable. Although 35 points of defense wasn't high, the durability of this breastplate was at least higher than that shield, so it was still usable.

However, it's still far inferior to his original equipment. When we get back this time, I'll have the shadow clone wear other clothes while I change back into my original attire.

After donning his breastplate and carrying his shield on his back, Lin Yu, armed with weapons and a flashlight, headed towards the deepest part of the basement, where the "stone men" Liu Yue'er had mentioned stood—three life-sized stone sculptures.

The flashlight beam focused on the three statues.

The sculptures are sculpted in a style somewhat similar to what the West calls the ancient Greek style.

The statue in the very center is of a young and handsome man.

He knelt on one knee, leaning slightly forward, his right hand gripping a stone sword stuck vertically in the ground, while his left hand was raised high, palm facing upward, as if devoutly receiving something, or as if praying to the sky.

His face bore a lifelike expression that blended pain, determination, and piety, his head tilted upwards, his eyes deep and unfathomable.

Directly in front of the young man, on either side, stands a statue of an elderly man with a solemn face and a long beard.

They wore robes similar to those of clergy, with flowing, draping folds.

The elderly man on the left is holding a cross tightly in his hands, cradling it against his chest.

The cross has an ancient design and seems to have been engraved with intricate scriptures, but these are no longer visible.

The old man lowered his head, closed his eyes, and parted his lips slightly, as if he were silently reciting a prayer.

The old man on the right has a completely different posture. He holds both hands with his palms facing upwards and his ten fingers slightly bent, together in front of his chest, forming a "holding" gesture.

He, too, looked up, his gaze fixed intently on the dome (the direction the young man was looking up), his face bearing an expression of anticipation and awe, as if waiting for something to descend.

The three statues depict a scene: a young warrior kneeling in supplication and receiving, a saint holding a cross in prayer, and another saint focused on receiving and passing on the message.

The whole group exudes a strange sense of ritual.

Lin Yu carefully examined the three statues several times.

The statue is carved from a hard, dense gray rock with a smooth surface. Although covered in dust, it is well-preserved and shows no obvious signs of manipulation.

He tried pushing and rotating various parts of the statue, including the sword hilt in the young man's hand, the cross in the old man's hand, and the supporting hands. He even checked the base of the statue and the ground around it, but it didn't budge or react at all.

"Gods' blessing... Holy light..." Lin Yu murmured to himself, his gaze wandering between the three statues, finally settling on the left hand of the young man in the center, which looked up at the sky and seemed to be supporting the void, and the hands of the old man on the right, which were also pointing upwards and focused on supporting.

"To receive... a blessing?" A vague guess formed in his mind.

Do these three statues depict a scene of some kind of "divine blessing" ritual?

The young warrior is the recipient, the old man holding the cross is the one who prays and witnesses, and the old man with his hands raised may be the key medium for communicating with heaven and earth and transmitting divine power.

So, is the key to "divine blessing" this kind of "transmission" and "receiver"?

It's not a weapon, but rather something like a "consecration" ceremony performed in a temple or Taoist monastery?

Unfortunately, the statues were just statues; they stood silently, unable to offer Lin Yu any further answers.

Just as Lin Yu was about to give up for the time being and prepare to leave first to make further plans, a clear voice suddenly rang out: "Brother, brother, when Yue'er crawled down to play just now, she seemed to see something shiny on the ceiling, right above the stone man with his hand raised."

Lin Yu was startled and suddenly looked up.

The beam of the flashlight shone instantly onto the rough stone ceiling of the basement. The light swept across the dusty and cobweb-covered dome, but nothing unusual was found.

But he didn't give up. Following Yue'er's instructions, he focused the beam of light on the area directly above the young warrior statue and examined it carefully.

Finally, hidden by several spider webs and thick dust, a faint reflection caught his attention.

Lin Yu immediately stepped forward, adjusted the angle, and shone the flashlight beam as vertically as possible onto that spot.

Suddenly, a thin but clear beam of light reflected down from the ceiling.
