The boy soldier next to the famous detective

Chapter 78 An Unexpected Reunion

Forced to sit on the sofa by Conan Edogawa, Jonah obediently put his legs together, placed his hands on his knees, and looked innocently at the angry Conan Edogawa and Ai Haibara.

Unfortunately, this tactic had no effect on the two who were both worried and angry. Even Professor Agasa, who was not far away, could only sigh and shrug helplessly at Jonah.

"Jonah, what have you been doing today? You had Haibara contact me and then we lost contact. Do you know how worried we were?"

Taking off his glasses and pinching his brow, Conan Edogawa tried to calm himself down, but he couldn't quite manage to stay composed.

"Did Conan talk to my uncle for me?"

"I'm telling you, we're all staying at Professor Agasa's house tonight. Don't interrupt; I'm asking you a question!"

Subconsciously answering Jonah's question, Conan Edogawa glared at him and slammed his hand on the table in annoyance.

"Tell me, what exactly did you do today? Why can't I contact you?"

"Because I turned off my phone, I knew you would keep calling me, Conan."

"So you did it knowingly, huh? That's impressive! Jonah, you're really something!"

Conan Edogawa suddenly realized that he couldn't be the one to ask the questions; otherwise, before he could get any valuable information, Jonah would have already made him faint from anger.

Giving Ai Haibara a look, Conan Edogawa stepped back, crossed his arms, and glared angrily at Jonah.

"Jonah, although I helped you, it doesn't mean I approve of your actions. Just like Kudo said, your sudden disappearance has made us all very worried."

With a soft sigh, Ai Haibara's gaze towards Jonah softened considerably, and her tone remained largely unchanged, displaying Haibara's unique gentleness.

"While we know Jonah is very powerful, that doesn't mean we want to see you face danger alone."

"So Jonah, if you're going to do anything dangerous in the future, could you please talk to us first? We'll respect your ideas and help you think of a better solution."

"I know, I'll be more careful next time."

Jonah nodded obediently. He could see the deep worry in the eyes of Conan and the other two. He knew that what he had done today was indeed wrong, and he apologized sincerely with remorse.

"Jonah, can you tell us now what happened that you need to deal with so urgently, without even having time to reply to our messages?"

Under Ai Haibara's questioning, Jonah recounted his experiences from the previous night in detail, making Conan, Edogawa, and the other two's eyebrows twitch as they listened.

Upon seeing Jonah pull out the several handguns he had found from his backpack, Conan Edogawa raised his hand and slammed it against his head, trying to alleviate the internal pain with external pain.

But what can Conan Edogawa do now? Should he let Jonah hand over these pistols to the police?

Taking a deep breath, Conan Edogawa decided that instead of worrying about trivial matters like the gun, it would be better to focus on Jonah's contact with the Black Organization members.

"Rum? Haibara, do you know this person?"

"I've only heard of him, but I've never seen him. Rum is the organization's second-in-command and the BOSS's most trusted subordinate."

With a serious expression, Ai Haibara shook her head and, meeting Conan Edogawa's gaze, explained her understanding of Rum.

"Except for a very few people, no one else in the organization knows what Rum looks like. Some say he is a man, some say he is a woman, and he may be an old man, but the only thing that is certain is that Rum seems to have only one eye."

"The organization's second-in-command."

Stroking his chin, Conan Edogawa hadn't fully figured out what was going on with Gin and Vodka, and now Rum had appeared. Conan Edogawa felt a lot of pressure.

However, there isn't much information available, and Jonah is completely silent about Dave, clearly not intending to give Conan Edogawa and Dave any foundation.

There was nothing Conan Edogawa could do but come to the bed that Professor Agasa had made for him, exhausted, and close his eyes to go to sleep.

I'm tired, really tired.

Seeing this, Ai Haibara didn't intend to ask any more questions. With a faint fear of hearing Rum's name again after so long, she ran to the basement laboratory to continue researching her antidote.

"Jonah, Jonah, come with me, and I will show you something good."

For a moment, only Jonah and Professor Agasa remained in the living room. Professor Agasa's eyes darted around, and he smiled and waved to Jonah before leading him to the storage room on the second floor where Jonah had previously hidden his gun.

"Jonah, see this decorative wall lamp? Pull it and then rotate it to the right."

Upon hearing Professor Agasa's words, Jonah curiously did as he was told, and then discovered that the original wall suddenly bulged up and split in the middle, slowly sliding open to both sides under the action of electromechanical mechanisms, revealing the space inside.

"This is the hidden gun cabinet I made for you. How does it look? Doesn't it look great? After that, Jonah, you only need to register one more fingerprint, and we'll have triple security."

"With this, you can keep all your guns here instead of hiding them in a corner of your backpack."

"Professor Agasa, you're amazing!"

With his eyes gleaming, Jonah enthusiastically displayed all the guns he had on the entire wall of gun cabinets, making it look like some kind of exhibition hall.

Seeing Jonah so happy because of his modifications, Professor Agasa stroked his beard and smiled.

But soon, Dr. Agasa's smile faded.

Watching Jonah intently studying the layout, seemingly intent on filling the entire wall with it, Professor Agasa secretly wiped the sweat from his brow and chuckled dryly.

"Actually, it doesn't need to be filled to the brim, Jonah."

"I won't let Professor Agasa's hard work go to waste!"

"...Haha, ahaha, that's a really good kid."

For the next week, Jonah was very happy every day, and he was looking forward to what new weapons Dave would prepare for him.

Conan Edogawa and Ai Haibara both noticed this, but there was nothing they could do to stop it. They could only hope that Dave's abilities were limited and that he wouldn't actually bring something that would cause a major disaster.

On the day he had arranged to meet Dave, Jonah called Dave early in the morning to confirm the time, and then set off alone to keep the appointment.

This time, Conan Edogawa didn't even have the intention of following them; the famous detective has already given up somewhat.

What's wrong with kids liking to play with guns? It's not like we don't have the means to do it at home.

Jonah arrived at Dave's house happily and opened the door to his new safe house using the code Dave gave him. As soon as he entered the living room, he saw a familiar-looking man with wheat-colored skin and light blond hair covering his swollen eye with one hand and raising the other hand to greet him.

"Hello, little brother Jonathan."

"We meet again~"
