"Jonah, aren't you coming to pick mushrooms?"

Seeing that Jonah hadn't gone with them to prepare for mushroom picking, Ayumi Yoshida curiously ran over to see what was going on, only to be surprised to find that Jonah had actually taken a hunting rifle from the boss.

"Hey Jonah, why are you allowed to have a gun?!"

Ayumi Yoshida's surprised shout attracted the attention of the other children. When they saw Jonah carrying a rifle that was almost as tall as him, Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya and Genta Kojima also ran over and looked at the hunting rifle in Jonah's hand with envy.

Despite their envy, neither Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya nor Genta Kojima reached out to touch Jonah. Although Jonah was also a member of their Junior Detective League, the two of them were actually somewhat afraid of him.

The main reason was that they once received a commission and encountered a murder case during the investigation. At that time, Conan Edogawa told them to stay outside and not disturb the scene. They were somewhat unwilling and wanted to sneak in.

Then, apart from Ayumi Yoshida, who escaped by hiding next to Ai Haibara, Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya and Genta Kojima were bound hand and foot by Jonah with the elastic rope he carried in his backpack. Jonah even gagged them because he found their constant chatter annoying.

Not to mention that ever since they met Jonah, whenever they went out to play and encountered some bad older kids or adults, they would normally have to stay away for safety reasons, but as long as Jonah was around, it was always those people who ended up getting hurt.

A child the same age as them, yet capable of beating adults to a pulp, and who rarely smiled, was incredibly intimidating to them.

"Alright everyone, come on over. Although we're having dinner together tonight, our daytime activities are quite different."

She clapped her hands and called the others over. Ai Haibara nodded to Jonah, told him to be careful, and then didn't say anything more.

Jonah initially wanted to go mushroom picking with them, but little did he know that the shop owner was actually a good friend of Junichi Morimoto from Tokyo Wargame. He had seen Jonah's photo at Morimoto's place and had also heard Morimoto talk about how good Jonah's shooting skills were while drinking together.

Having seen Jonah in person today, the owner was naturally tempted, so he handed the inn over to his wife and prepared to take Jonah hunting.

Conan Edogawa and Ai Haibara didn't say anything about this. They could tell that Jonah wasn't really interested in mushroom picking and had just wanted to hang out with everyone. But when the boss recognized Jonah and suggested going hunting together, Jonah's eyes lit up.

"Jonah really likes guns."

"Yes, that's the part that's giving me the biggest headache."

With a sigh, Conan Edogawa watched Jonah leave with a smile as he followed the boss away, then turned and led the children into the jungle to pick mushrooms for dinner.

Are there many bears here?

"Well, for a while the number of bears decreased, but then a hunting ban was issued, and suddenly the number of bears increased again, which is why the government is now encouraging hunters to go into the mountains to hunt bears again."

"Of course, we only hunt large bears, and we don't bother with cubs. However, recently some hunters have been too malicious, using cubs as traps to lure large bears. We have found several such traces during our patrols. It's really going too far."

The owner chatted with Jonah while leading him through the jungle, teaching him many hunting techniques.

Jonah also demonstrated his excellent shooting skills to the boss on the way. Before the old hunter could react, he shot and killed two rabbits, leaving the boss in awe.

"It's a real shame you couldn't stay longer. If it were you, you should have been able to hunt the bear successfully."

After packing the rabbit, the boss couldn't help but praise Jonah, but he turned to look at the other side of the woods halfway through his sentence.

Three hunters carrying guns appeared there. The hunters recognized their boss and came up to greet him.

Following behind the hunters were Conan Edogawa and his friends, who shouldn't be in the hunting area.

"Ah, it's Jonah!"

Upon seeing Jonah, Ayumi Yoshida and Genta Kojima rushed over and anxiously told him that Ai Haibara and Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya had gotten lost.

Normally, the three kids trust Conan Edogawa more, but in this dangerous forest, Jonah with a gun in his hand makes them feel safer.

"Why did you get lost in the hunting area?"

"I'm sorry, I climbed over the fence to pick mushrooms, and they got lost while looking for me."

Meeting Jonah's gaze, Genta Kojima lowered his head in shame.

Jonah glanced at Kojima Genta but didn't say anything more. Children in the city naturally couldn't mature as early as children in war zones, and since they were usually noisy and disruptive, Jonah was used to them causing trouble from time to time.

"Conan, have you discovered anything?"

Having reached Conan Edogawa's side, Jonah placed his hopes for assessing the situation on Conan.

"We've found some traces left by Haibara along the way. It gives me the feeling that they weren't hiding from bears, but from people."

Lowering his voice, Conan Edogawa glanced subtly at the Hunter trio in front of him and stated his deduction.

"I suspect that Haibara and the others might be hiding from one of those three hunters."

"So, there are suspicious people among them, right?"

Having figured out who the enemy was, Jonah knew what he should do.

Jonah silently approached the three hunters. Just as Jonah was about to act, a rustling sound suddenly came from the bushes nearby. Then, Ai Haibara and Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, who had been missing for a long time, came out.

"Jonah, the bearded man next to you!"

"What?"

When he saw Ai Haibara suddenly appear, Saiga Matasaburo was stunned for a moment. Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt a gust of wind on the side of his head.

Jonah swung his hunting rifle and smashed Saiga Yuzaburo down with the butt. He immediately turned the gun around and aimed it at the hunter who was still on the ground and hadn't had time to get up. He spoke in an icy tone.

"Don't move, or I'll kill you."

"Haibara, Mitsuhiko, I'm so glad you're alright!"

"Haibara, what's going on with that person?"

Reaching Jonah's side, Conan Edogawa helped remove the hunting rifle from Saiga Matsusaburo, leaving him unarmed. Then, he pulled Jonah back slightly, helping him to his feet.

"This hunter killed someone, and we saw the scene of his murder."

"What?"

Staring in shock at Saiga Matsuzuro, just as everyone was about to continue questioning him, Jonah noticed something, suddenly turned around and pointed his gun at the other side, his expression extremely serious.

"Everyone, come to me!"
