The boy soldier next to the famous detective
Chapter 29 The Electric Pistol Makes Another Great Contribution
"You're such an idiot! How could you have such a misunderstanding? Shinichi Kudo is a boy! Look at my lips, 'boy!'"
When Hattori Heiji returned after making the phone call, he was taken aback to see Toyama Kazuha suddenly appear. After learning what had happened, he laughed mercilessly.
What followed was a hilarious farce, but Jonah wasn't interested in any of it. He was only focused on eating the different flavors of tamagoyaki, which earned him the chef's admiring glance.
When everyone came out of the tamagoyaki shop, Toyama and Hajime unsurprisingly joined the group for the next round of sightseeing. Fortunately, the police car prepared by Hattori Heiji was spacious, and since Edogawa Conan and Jonah were both children, it was convenient for them to sit on the adults' laps.
However, just as Yusuke Sakata was about to drive off, helping Heiji Hattori take Kogoro Mori and the others on a trip to Osaka, he suddenly noticed that the residents near the police car were all looking up in surprise.
"What happened?"
Heiji Hattori, who also noticed this, leaned out of the passenger seat and looked up curiously. He saw a figure fall from above and crash directly into the hood of the police car.
The sudden turn of events startled everyone around, and Hattori Heiji and the others immediately opened the car door and ran out to check on the person on the hood.
"He's already dead."
Hattori Heiji's face turned grim as he looked at the corpse, which was clearly dead.
"There are people in higher positions."
Jonah, who also came out immediately and unzipped his backpack, gripped the electric gun but didn't pull it out. He looked up at the roof of the building next to the police car and pointed to the figure who was still there watching something.
"What?"
Following Jonah's hand, Heiji Hattori also spotted the figure and rushed into the stairwell without a word, with Conan Edogawa close behind, afraid that the suspect would escape.
Compared to his previous surprises, Jonah is now completely used to it.
Jonah counted the number of murder cases he had encountered while out with Kogoro Mouri and Conan Edogawa, and he was inexplicably puzzled. Could it be that the high crime rate in Beika City was due to the large number of detectives?
And now it's not just Beika City, but Osaka as well.
The original travel plans were ruined by the sudden discovery of the dead body. Heiji Hattori and Conan Edogawa were like cats who had spotted a mouse. They were extremely excited because of the serial murder case that was involved in the case. Conan Edogawa even asked Jonah to help cover for them and ran out to investigate with Heiji Hattori.
After thinking about it, Jonah realized that Heiji Hattori and the police were with Conan Edogawa, so it would be better for him to stay with Ran Mouri for protection.
They waited until evening, and with the help of Goro Otaki, Kazuha Toyama finally found Conan Edogawa, who had been running around all day.
Originally, they were going directly to Hattori Heiji's house to receive a meal, but halfway there, Otaki Goro suddenly received a phone call saying that they had discovered the fugitive murderer Numabuchi Kiichiro. So they changed their direction and ended up in a forest.
Jonah, unfazed by Conan Edogawa's sneaky escape from the car, followed Ran Mouri to the abandoned cabin in the forest, where, as expected, he found Conan Edogawa there.
Standing aside watching Ran Mouri squat down and reprimand Conan Edogawa for running around again, Jonah felt that Ran's reprimand would probably not have any effect. Given Conan Edogawa's personality of being unable to extricate himself from a case, he would not stop his actions because of danger.
Jonah shifted his gaze to the murderer being escorted out of the room by the police, a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
According to information overheard in the car, this murderer named Numabuchi Kiichiro has killed three people, but he doesn't look like one at all.
Rather, Jonah felt that there was a deep, unconcealed fear in the man's eyes, as if he were being chased by something terrifying that would take his life.
Clang -
As he was being led forward, Numabuchi Kiichiro suddenly fell into a pile of junk in the corridor. Just as the police were about to pull him up, Numabuchi Kiichiro grabbed a kitchen knife he found in the junk, swung it wildly to force the police away, and then charged madly toward the door.
"Get out of my way!"
A frenzied Kiichiro Numabuchi, gripping a kitchen knife in both hands, charged relentlessly towards Ran Mouri, who was still crouching on the ground and unable to dodge in time. Upon seeing this, Conan Edogawa instinctively spread his body to shield Ran Mouri from the danger.
But Jonah was even faster than Conan Edogawa, sensing something was wrong as soon as Kiichiro Numabuchi collapsed.
Unzip the zipper, pull out the electric gun, aim, and fire!
Worried about the safety of Ran Mouri and Conan Edogawa, Jonah emptied an entire magazine, and the powerful anesthetic took effect. This caused Kiichiro Numabuchi, whose vision had already been suddenly taken away by the tranquilizer dart, to fall down in a sorry state, and then quickly fell into a deep sleep.
"Are you all alright?"
Startled by the sudden turn of events, Goro Otaki roared and ordered the police to subdue Kiichiro Numabuchi. He then crawled to Ran Mouri and Conan Edogawa, nervously watching the two of them.
"Conan, are you alright?"
The fear on her face hadn't subsided when Ran Mouri instinctively reached out and grabbed Conan Edogawa's shoulders, making him turn around so she could check if he was alright.
"I'm fine too. He fell down before he rushed over."
Turning to look at Jonah, who had already put his gun away, Conan Edogawa breathed a sigh of relief and gave Jonah a thumbs-up without making a sound.
"It seems that Kiichiro Numabuchi has fainted from exhaustion. I'm so sorry, our mistake almost put you in danger."
Because he was further inside and hadn't seen Jonah's actions, Goro Otaki shared his assessment, which surprised Kazuha Toyama, who had witnessed the entire event.
After glancing at Goro Otaki, who had been brushed off, and then at Jonah standing outside, who was calmly looking at him, Kazuha Toyama blinked and chose to remain silent for the time being.
Whether it was just his imagination or not, Kazuha Toyama sensed a threat in Jonah's eyes, as if he were warning him not to meddle.
It's absurd, but Kazuha Toyama felt it was necessary to ask Heiji Hattori about this brown-skinned, white-haired boy when he got back.
"What?! You're saying Heiji got shot?!"
