The boy soldier next to the famous detective

Chapter 116 I Don't Have Any Smaller Knives

Although Jonah had strong objections to going into the distant seaside restaurant, as other people who had also received invitations from Asahi Katsuyoshi arrived, Jonah realized he couldn't stop them and could only walk into the cable car leading to the restaurant with a stern face.

Upon entering the crystal, Jonah kept a close eye on his surroundings and quickly sensed something was wrong, pulling on Conan Edogawa beside him.

"Conan, why haven't we seen a single staff member since we entered this place?"

"That...that makes sense. Is it because it hasn't officially opened for business yet?"

Jonah's question startled Conan Edogawa for a moment, and he thought for a moment before giving an answer.

But clearly, this answer did not satisfy Jonah. While the others were marveling at the unique view from the underwater restaurant, Jonah quietly slipped away from the crowd, took out his phone, and made a call to Dave.

Upon receiving the call, Dave patted his chest and assured Jonah that he would arrange for a speedboat to be on standby near the Water Crystal within an hour, and that he could provide immediate assistance should any problems arise.

Jonah then began a quick and detailed investigation around the outside of the Water Crystal. Unfortunately, due to limited backpack space, Jonah did not bring the rope gun that Professor Agasa had made for him this time, so he could not climb some of the higher places effectively.

There weren't many discoveries, but the fact that Jonah found a safety exit blocked off by haphazardly piled-up cement at the back door was enough to tell him that this was definitely not a safe place.

Ding-ring-ring

Jonah's phone suddenly rang, interrupting his investigation. Seeing that the caller ID showed it was Dave, Jonah quickly answered the call.

"Hey Jonathan, didn't you send me that picture of that guy named Murakami Takeshi and ask me to investigate him? You know what, it actually came up."

"But this Murakami Jo died seven days ago."

"Dead? Why?"

"I don't know. I sent the photo to a friend who sells information. He used his connections to investigate and found out from a person who specializes in being a 'cleaner' in the industry that someone contacted that cleaner seven days ago and asked him to help dispose of a body, which is Murakami Takeshi in the photo."

"...Dave, where are you now?"

"I just got a speedboat, it will take at least 20 minutes to get there."

"I understand, please hurry."

"receive."

After hanging up the phone, Jonah rushed straight to the main entrance of the Water Crystal without saying a word.

Since the investigation began, everyone has identified Murakami Takeshi as the murderer, but Dave claims that Murakami Takeshi was murdered seven days earlier, the day after his release from prison.

If that's the case, then who attacked Inspector Megure, Eri Kisaki, Professor Agasa, and Hiroki Tsuji?

As he ran, Jonah pulled out his phone and dialed Conan Edogawa's number.

"Hey Jonah, haven't you finished your search yet? We haven't found Xu Shengyi either; he's in the restaurant right now..."

"Conan, Murakami Joe is dead. He was murdered seven days ago."

"What?"

Jonah's news was so shocking that even Conan Edogawa couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. He then quickly pretended to be funny to prevent the others from asking further questions.

Is the news confirmed?

"It's certain, so someone else was behind the attack. Conan, give me an idea. I need to decide how to proceed."

"Wait a moment, Jonah, let me think about it."

Hearing the sound of Jonah running rapidly, Conan Edogawa knew that the situation was urgent, and he frowned as he quickly racked his brains.

"If the murderer wasn't Murakami Jo, then he deliberately used the order of the cards to launch the attack, partly to shift all the suspicion onto Murakami Jo, and partly to use the numbers to cover up who he really wanted to kill."

"In other words, the real culprit might be in the Crystal Restaurant, one of those invited here!"

"I understand, Conan. I'll be there soon. You need to find the culprit as quickly as possible and then tell me."

"...Jonah, there are so many people here. If you try to make a move, you'll be exposed."

"I'll figure something out. You just need to tell me who the killer is."

"...Phew, I got it."

After hanging up the phone, Jonah continued running towards the main entrance and finally arrived at it five minutes later.

After trying to press the button to open the door and finding no response, and pulling hard to no avail, Jonah narrowed his eyes, opened his backpack, took out C4 explosives, and attached them to the front door. He then took out the fuse and completed the installation.

With everything ready, Jonah took out his phone and called Conan Edogawa.

"Conan, everyone's gathered in the restaurant right now, quite a distance from the main entrance, right?"

"Yes, what's wrong, Jonah?"

"Don't let them near the main entrance."

Leaving behind a message, Jonah pulled the fuse and quickly ran to the side to hide. A moment later, a loud explosion and tremor followed, causing Jonah to unconsciously shake his head before getting up from his hiding place.

Looking at the door he had blown open, Jonah rushed in with a tranquilizer gun, only to encounter a group of shocked people as he smashed open the restaurant door.

"Jonah? What's happening outside?"

Upon seeing Jonah suddenly appear, Kogoro Mouri quickly approached and anxiously asked what had happened.

"The door is locked. Someone's trying to tie us up. Uncle, let's go out now!"

With his eyes fixed on the others present, Jonah glanced at Conan Edogawa and, upon receiving a shake of the head, knew that Conan had not yet found the real culprit.

With Inspector Megure and Shiratori Ninzaburo still around, it would be troublesome to attack them directly in front of them. Jonah had no choice but to take Kogoro Mouri and Ran Mouri away from this dangerous area.

Just as Jonah was about to pull Ran away, a series of explosions suddenly rang out. The violent tremors shattered all the glass walls around the restaurant, and seawater rushed into the restaurant, scattering everyone in all directions.

After spinning several times to maintain his balance, Jonah instinctively swam upwards, only to find that Ran Mouri was not around when he reached the surface.

Seeing Conan Edogawa re-dive into the water with an empty plastic bottle, Jonah realized something and followed suit.

At the bottom of the restaurant, Conan Edogawa and Jonah found Ran Mouri trapped under a sports car. Seeing that Ran had fallen unconscious due to lack of oxygen, Conan quickly brought a bottle of oxygen to her mouth, while Jonah immediately removed his elastic belt and used a nearby pillar to pull the sports car away, working with Conan to rescue Ran.

Everyone safely swam through the gap created by the bomb to the restaurant's outer platform. Just as Jonah was checking on Ran Mouri, who was dazed from lack of oxygen, Conan Edogawa had already anesthetized Kogoro Mouri and was eagerly starting his deduction.

When Jonah heard Conan Edogawa, through a combination of intimidation and deception, identify the real culprit as Kohei Sawaki, he blinked, realizing that Conan Edogawa was trying to use this method to make Sawaki confess and submit to the law, thereby depriving Jonah of the opportunity to directly kill him.

A cold glint flashed in Jonah's eyes. Just as Jonah was contemplating whether to team up with Dave to attack the police officers holding the prisoners and kidnap Sawaki Kohei, Sawaki Kohei, whose identity had been exposed, pulled out a small knife with a maniacal smile and charged menacingly toward Jonah, then grabbed Jonah and "held him hostage".

Seeing Jonah being "held hostage" without any struggle, Conan Edogawa slapped his forehead, realizing that his little trick had failed.

Just kidding, how could Jonah possibly be held hostage by Sawaki Kohei with a folding knife like that!

Jonah's toy knife at home was bigger than that!
