Quick Transmigration and Childbirth: The Target is Not Human
Chapter 52 What evil intentions could an elf possibly have?
The first conversation ended in a breakdown.
Samuel seemed determined to make her forget the elven forest of the past and adapt to this brand-new icy world.
He lifted her onto the snow leopard's back, the powerful muscles beneath his rump making it difficult for her to sit still.
A chest as hard as iron followed closely behind her, and two arms reached from behind to the front, grabbing the snow leopard's collar and wrapping it securely around her.
The scent emanating from him was no longer the familiar fragrance of white magnolia blossoms, but a more refreshing aroma of cedar.
Xia Yangyang frowned and looked at the new elf who had settled in the Elf Forest.
These elves followed Samuel back from the battlefield.
How come they are not afraid of the cold winter?
As he was thinking this, Samuel urged the snow leopard forward and began to introduce them: "These are all fir tree spirits, living at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, but there are different kinds."
"Those short-haired youths chopping wood are fir trees, those with thick beards are cedar trees, and those tallest, strongest men are hemlock trees..."
Xia Yangyang looked listless; after all, anyone would look like that if their hands were tied while looking at the scenery.
As soon as he started introducing something, she turned her head to look at the other side, so he followed her gaze and introduced something new.
"That's an ice sprite. She has a bad temper because she's only born in winter and has a short lifespan..."
He seemed to come alive and full of vigor whenever he introduced this new elven kingdom.
They don't seem like elves who have always lived in the forest.
They crossed towns, streets, and frozen lakes, arriving at a snow-covered forest, beyond which lay the solemn and majestic snow-capped mountains.
The snow leopard stopped here and began to gnaw on a frozen hare.
Xia Yangyang exclaimed "Hey!" in a panic, and Samuel immediately slapped the snow leopard on the head.
The snow leopard whimpered pitifully and spat the rabbit, which had been covered in saliva, onto the ground.
Xia Yangyang twisted her waist and slid off the leopard's back. Samuel, afraid she would fall, used magic to release the restraints on her hands.
He watched as she jogged over, picked up the little rabbit, and wiped the drool off it.
Xia Yangyang: [What delicious rabbit meat.]
System: [Shh! Aren't you afraid he can read your mind?]
Xia Yangyang: [I believe you, Master Tong.]
Samuel sat on the back of the snow leopard, the girl in the red fox fur coat shining brightly in the snow like a flame in winter.
She anxiously hugged the little rabbit to warm it, and quickly rubbed its body with both hands until the little rabbit flapped its front paws twice. Only then did she relax her brow and warm it in her arms.
She was the kindest, most sincere, and purest girl he had ever met.
Therefore, he was incredibly tolerant of her anger when she saw him again, and he understood her grief over the death of the elf. He was willing to explain to her and give her time to adjust.
He admired her kindness and resilience, but ironically, these were also the very qualities that were giving him the biggest headache right now...
The snow leopard beneath him tossed snow with its paws and let out a mournful howl.
Samuel looked up and noticed the small figure walking silently further and further away.
His lover is a bit clever.
She pretended to stroke the little rabbit in her arms, but actually carefully tilted her head and glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. When she found him lost in thought, she moved her feet deeper into the dense forest.
After making eye contact with him, he immediately started running.
Samuel was indeed lost in thought, wondering why he couldn't take advantage of the fact that he had such a kind lover.
Suddenly, a hand landed on Xia Yangyang's shoulder, pressing her to the spot.
Her tense nerves were suddenly startled, almost jumping out of her skin, but she managed to hold it in.
Samuel walked silently through the snow, forgiving her escape, for he could always easily guide her back to the right path.
He put his arm around her shoulder to shield her from the wind and snow, and led her back along the footprints on the ground:
"Perhaps I shouldn't have been in the forest at all. I should have lived at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. That's my true home."
Xia Yangyang subconsciously replied perfunctorily, "Yeah, that's right."
"What's wrong with this new Elven race? My skin is not suited to sunlight but to this gloomy, snowy weather. I have my naturally strong brethren who can protect the Elven race even without consuming blood."
"As soon as I was born, the elves worshipped me and brought me to the elven forest, without asking me if I wanted to."
"It has always been the elves who need my support, not the other way around."
"Yangyang, just like you said, now it's just a kidnapped soul breaking free from the shackles of morality. I don't want to live in that kind of self-sacrifice anymore."
Samuel's eyes revealed a vulnerability, a softness hidden beneath a strong exterior.
It evokes pity in people, making them want to lend a helping hand and dispel the gloom in his heart.
Xia Yangyang didn't understand why he suddenly said these things at first.
Hearing this, it became clear.
He wanted her to change her perspective, to understand him, and to be more tolerant of him.
But it was all a disguise. Xia Yangyang knew that there were people who were even better at using appearances to gain benefits than she was.
"And what makes you any better?" Her voice carried a hint of sneer.
It was as if mocking his supposedly clever but actually flawed tricks.
The two continued walking back step by step, leaving two rows of footprints on the ground, one large and one small, very close together.
With an extremely soft voice, Xia Yangyang tore off his magnificent mask: "Are you really as pitiful and innocent as you claim? You killed the Grand Elder, you killed the Green Elf..."
"..."
"Before I caught you... or even during the time I was here, you had a habit of devouring elves. You said you were supporting the elves, but now the forest elves are on the verge of extinction. Isn't that your revenge? No one should put all the blame on anyone else."
"..."
"You even tried to kill me several times, but you just didn't succeed."
Her tone was so resolute, each word like a carefully chosen arrow, pointing straight to the heart of the matter.
A cold wind howled, and the two people who had been standing still separated and looked at each other.
"What's wrong with you?" Samuel asked casually, helping her put her hat on to keep warm. "You look like you've discovered some big secret."
Xia Yangyang forcefully slapped his hand away, leaving a red mark on the back of his snow-white hand.
The cold wind blew her hat off, and her eyes, red-rimmed and gleaming with hatred, screamed: "Don't try to fool me with that again! I know you're that red-eyed monster!"
Ignoring her struggles, Samuel put the hat on her head again, and with his slender, nimble fingers tied the red string securely under her chin.
He gently brushed away the snowflakes that had fallen on her eyelashes, as if this could erase his dirty and hypocritical past from her eyes.
He put his arm around her and continued walking back.
The sound was light and airy, as if it had been gently blown away into the air, leaving no weight behind.
"That's all in the past."
