Bai Yishu looked up from a stack of documents and pretended to be confused as she looked at He Yunshen.

"What habits?"

"coffee."

He Yun Shen narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone revealing neither joy nor anger.

"I thought Zhou Sheng had already told you to bring me a cup of coffee every day at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

He walked in, leaned over and rested his head on Bai Yishu's desk, looking directly at her.

"Or does Assistant Bai feel that this is outside your job scope?"

Brother, you didn't say you wanted to make coffee before we came.

Bai Yishu inwardly grumbled, but on her face she wore an innocent expression.

"It's my first day here, and there's so much to remember."

He Yun Shen stared at her for a few seconds, his expression softening slightly.

"So, you forgot?"

He Yun Shen straightened up and ordered her expressionlessly, "Go now."

Bai Yishu clenched her fists under the table, slowly stood up, gave a fake smile, and bowed perfunctorily, saying, "Yes, President He."

After saying that, she walked out of the office and headed towards the break room.

"Hurry up, I don't have that much time to wait."

He Yun Shen watched her retreating figure, a barely perceptible smile flashing in his eyes, before returning to his office to begin his work.

Bai Yishu walked to the coffee machine, where a note clearly indicated how to use the machine, the amount of coffee beans, the grind setting, and the water temperature.

"You want coffee, right...?"

Bai Yishu muttered to herself as she took coffee beans out of the cabinet, completely disregarding the instructions and pouring them in by feel.

She deliberately ignored the water temperature and poured in boiling water.

"Hmph, I'll make you suffer."

A moment later, Bai Yishu walked into the president's office with a cup of coffee and placed the cup on the table.

The aroma of coffee wafted over with the rising steam. He Yun Shen keenly sensed that something was wrong with the smell, but said nothing. He picked up the cup and took a small sip.

The bitterness of the coffee instantly filled his mouth, so bitter that he almost lost control of his facial expressions.

He Yun Shen put down his cup without changing his expression and looked up at Bai Yi Shu.

"Assistant Bai, is this the coffee you made?"

Bai Yishu blinked, a smile plastered on her face.

"Is there a problem?"

"Hmm...the taste is quite unique. Are you sure you brewed it to my liking?"

He Yun Shen pushed the cup forward a little.

"Why don't you try some yourself?"

Bai Yishu stared at the dark brown liquid in the glass, feeling a little uneasy, and quickly shook her head.

"I won't try it."

He Yun Shen chuckled lightly, his expression revealing a hint of displeasure, his gaze fixed on Bai Yi Shu's face.

"What? You brewed this coffee yourself, and you don't even want to drink it, yet you serve it to me. Do you think that's appropriate?"

Bai Yishu avoided He Yunshen's gaze, her eyes casually falling on a few green plants in the office, muttering nonsense to herself.

"I don't like coffee."

He Yun Shen raised an eyebrow, leisurely sizing up Bai Yi Shu, his fingertips lightly tapping the table.

"I don't like drinking it, so I don't know what a good taste is, okay?"

He picked up the cup and took another sip, forcing back the bitter taste, and forced a half-smile at the corner of his mouth.

"Then let me tell you, it's too bitter, so bitter that it's hard to swallow."

He Yun Shen slammed the cup down, spilling some of the liquid onto the tray.

"Soak it again."

"cut."

Bai Yishu reluctantly picked up the plate and walked out of the office.

He Yun Shen heard her disdainful snort and his voice turned serious.

"Ms. Bai, I am your boss in this company. You'd better put away your temper and take your work seriously."

He stood up and walked to Bai Yishu, looking down at her.

"Now, go and make the coffee."

Bai Yishu's hand holding the tray tightened suddenly. She gritted her teeth and said, word by word, "Yes, President He."

Bai Yishu returned to the tea room and threw the cup, tray and all, into the sink, the sound attracting the attention of other employees.

She braced herself on the table with both hands, took a deep breath, and gradually calmed her agitated mood.

Nothing more...

What's the difference between working for someone else and living under someone else's roof?

Since she agreed to the internship, she should just do her best.

Going against He Yun Shen wouldn't do her any good.

Anyway, she can't possibly make coffee for people forever.

Bai Yishu quickly calmed herself down. She took out a clean cup and made another cup of coffee according to the instructions on the paper.

The taste was much more normal than the first time. He Yun Shen picked up the cup, took a sip, and his brows gradually relaxed.

"This time it's barely acceptable. Remember this flavor, and stick to this standard from now on."

Bai Yishu forced a smile and nodded respectfully.

"Ms. Bai, I don't want to see something like this happen again. As an intern, you need to understand your responsibilities."

Seeing that Bai Yishu did not refute, He Yunshen softened his tone.

"Go ahead and get busy. If there's anything you don't understand, you can ask Zhou Sheng, or come and ask me directly."

Bai Yishu clasped her hands together and bowed slightly to He Yun Shen in a perfunctory manner.

"Yes, Mr. He."

He Yun Shen's gaze followed her back until she returned to her workstation, at which point he looked away.

He picked up the document again, but was somewhat absent-minded. The image of her wanting to lash out but having to hold back kept replaying in his mind, and a faint smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.

Bai Yishu returned to her workstation. She slumped in her chair for a while, her eyes drifting to the pile of documents on the table, before she had no choice but to sit up and get back to work.

The rest of the day went quite smoothly. Apart from delivering a cup of coffee to He Yun Shen as usual at 3 p.m., Bai Yi Shu didn't say a word to him.

When she encountered a problem with the document, she would take the document and run to the other end to find Zhou Sheng.

Zhou Sheng was curious about the relationship between Bai Yishu and He Yunshen, but he didn't show it.

Actually, it wasn't just him who was curious; the other employees also wanted to know about their relationship, but no one dared to step forward and ask.

As soon as it was time to leave work, Bai Yishu immediately got up to pack her things, but He Yunshen suddenly appeared outside her door.

"Come here, I have something to tell you."

After He Yun Shen finished speaking, he walked towards his office. Bai Yi Shu felt helpless, but she could only follow him in.

The office was dimly lit, with only a desk lamp on, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the city's dazzling lights.

"How was your first day of internship?"

He Yun Shen slowly approached her, and only stopped when he could feel the person in front of him breathing.

"well enough."

Bai Yishu spoke in a calm tone, and she took a step back to create some distance between herself and him.

He Yun Shen examined her in the dim light, then took a step forward, completely enveloping her in his shadow.

"Then please don't deliberately make me such bitter coffee again in the future."
