On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Bai Yishu and her parents came to the He family home.

The vehicle slowly drove into the gate. The trees on both sides were covered with Chinese knots and lanterns. The courtyard with its blue bricks and gray tiles lost its usual coldness and solemnity and was warmed by a splash of vibrant Chinese red.

He Yun Shen withdrew his gaze and bowed to Bai Yi Shu's parents to greet them.

Bai Yishu walked over and handed the gift she brought to He Yunshen, winking at him in a moment when no one was paying attention.

"Mr. He, Happy New Year."

He Yun Shen took the thing Bai Yi Shu handed him, his fingers lightly brushing against the back of her hand as if by accident, so quickly that it was almost imperceptible.

"Thank you, Ms. Bai, and Happy New Year."

He handed the gift to the servants beside him, gestured for them to come inside, and then walked beside Bai Yishu.

"Please come in."

Bai Yishu entered the house and, together with her parents, greeted Grandmother He, who was sitting in the center of the living room, and then greeted He Wanqing's parents, who were also He Yunshen's elder brother and sister-in-law.

The grandfather of the He family passed away early, and the entire He family listened to the grandmother. The grandmother was nearly eighty years old and in excellent spirits.

Several other elders of the He family were sitting nearby, and Bai Yishu greeted them one by one.

He Wanqing heard the noise and came downstairs. Her eyes lit up instantly when she saw Bai Yishu, and she ran towards her.

When it was time for dinner, the group went to the restaurant.

Grandmother He sat in the main seat, while Bai Yishu and He Wanqing sat next to their respective parents.

He Yun Shen was the last to enter the restaurant and sat down next to Bai Yi Shu.

The perfume He Yun Shen was wearing today was a gift from Bai Yi Shu some time ago. The faint fragrance wafted over as he sat down, making Bai Yi Shu's heart skip a beat, and her hands clenched together under the tablecloth.

Bai Yishu glanced at the man beside her before looking away, pretending to listen to the elders' conversation at the dinner table, and eating her meal absentmindedly.

While He Yun Shen appeared to be talking to someone, his long leg under the table lightly touched Bai Yi Shu's knee.

When no one was looking, he used serving chopsticks to put a dish that Bai Yishu liked into her plate, his voice mixed in with the noisy conversation.

"Try this, it tastes good."

Bai Yishu pretended to be calm as she picked up some food and put it in her mouth, but when she looked up, she saw He Wanqing looking at her with a maternal smile.

She deliberately ignored He Wanqing's gaze, lowered her head and quickly swallowed her food, but her reddened ears betrayed her.

Bai Yishu felt she was half full, so she drank a few sips of water, put down her chopsticks, and leaned back in her chair to rest.

She noticed that the elders seemed focused on their conversation, and a wicked thought flashed through her mind.

She secretly reached her hand towards He Yun Shen, who was standing next to her, and then placed it on his thigh under the table.

"Yi Shu, I heard from your mother that you're a senior in college this year. Where are you planning to do your internship?"

Grandmother He suddenly put down her chopsticks and looked at Bai Yishu with a smile.

Bai Yishu didn't expect the topic to suddenly shift to her, and she calmly let go of He Yunshen's hand.

"I'm looking at a few companies, but I haven't made a decision yet."

"Come to our He family, Yi Shu."

He appeared to be leaning against the wall looking at his phone, but in reality, he was observing the surrounding activity.

A few minutes later, Bai Yishu came out of the bathroom and was somewhat surprised to see He Yunshen standing outside the door.

Before she could speak, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a small room to the side.

The room was dimly lit, with boxes of various sizes and some supplies on the shelves; it looked like the He family's storage room.

He Yun Shen closed the door behind him, and the small space was instantly filled with the sound of their breathing.
