Courtyard House: Home Alone

Chapter 438 Three divisions, all gone?

As the sun set, Qi Haishan served the prepared meal. The two ate a simple meal, and Lin Yifan then shouldered his packed backpack, left 17 Victoria Road, and used his light-footed skills to run along the path towards the sea.

Upon reaching the secluded beach they had chosen beforehand, and seeing that no one was around, they launched the Type 022 missile boats and quietly sailed out of the bay with the receding tide, heading towards Jeju Island.

The sea was pitch black under the cover of night. The missile boat, in stealth mode, moved quickly with the ocean current and arrived at the designated ambush area in less than ten hours.

Lin Yifan found a sheltered spot on the reef, exchanged a drone from the system store, released the drone to scout the surroundings, and confirmed that there were no passing ships or Japanese patrol boats before climbing onto the reef, putting away the missile boat, and entering the space to rest.

For the next two days, Lin Yifan lay in ambush on the island and took turns launching drones to monitor the sea route in the direction of Lushunkou, waiting for the Japanese troop transport fleet to show up.

On the afternoon of the third day, the drone finally transmitted images back, showing that the massive Japanese fleet had already left Lushun Port and was sailing in a long line towards the southeast.

Leading the way were two light cruisers from the Japanese Fourth Fleet, followed by more than twenty troop transports and more than twenty cargo ships of various sizes. There were only four escorting destroyers, indicating a very lax defense.

Lin Yifan looked at the footage transmitted back by the drone and a cold smile appeared on his lips. These Japanese devils had delivered themselves to his doorstep. He was determined not to let them pass away alive.

He immediately started the speedboat and quietly headed towards the designated interception area. Under the cover of the islands and sea fog, he slowly crept up to the flank of the Japanese fleet and waited quietly for the Japanese fleet to approach.

This wait lasted for more than eight hours. Because the Japanese fleet had troop transport ships and cargo ships, its speed was only eleven or twelve knots. By then, it was completely dark.

Lin Yifan's Type 022 appeared like a ghost on the left side of the convoy, traveling in the same direction as the convoy about two kilometers away. He took a liking to the equipment on the cargo ship: tanks and armored vehicles from a tank division, and artillery from two divisions.

Although Lin Yifan didn't think much of these equipment, the Red Party was severely lacking in heavy firepower, and even the island nation couldn't just produce such equipment casually.

If this equipment had appeared on the Chinese battlefield, countless anti-Japanese soldiers would have sacrificed their lives in vain. Rather than leaving it for the Japanese to harm our compatriots, it would be better to intercept it and use it for our own people.

Lin Yifan located the last few cargo ships in the convoy, which were loaded with heavy equipment. Instead of making a move, he first used missiles to lock onto the two light cruisers and four destroyers at the front. Since he was going to do it, he had to take out the Japanese escort force first and cut off their thoughts of escaping and counterattacking.

As the anti-ship missile launch button was pressed, eight YJ-83 missiles streaked with flames and hurtled straight toward their targets. Lin Yifan could even see the towering flames that exploded on the sea surface from afar. In less than ten minutes, all six Japanese escort ships sank to the bottom of the sea without a trace.

The Japanese soldiers in the fleet finally realized what was happening and were thrown into chaos. The troop transport ships were packed with soldiers, and they couldn't even turn around to dodge.

Lin Yifan remained calm and reloaded the missiles. He first used grenades to destroy the propulsion systems of the twenty-odd cargo ships loaded with heavy equipment and supplies, letting them drift slowly on the sea surface instead of sinking them directly. He planned to collect the spoils at the end.

The remaining troop transport ships were launched one missile at a time. Within half an hour, all thirty-odd ships had either sunk or come to a stop, and the sea was filled with struggling Japanese soldiers crying for help.

Lin Yifan sneered, having no intention of leaving any survivors. He drove the speedboat around the sea, using the large-caliber machine gun on board to mow down all the Japanese soldiers in the water. After all, these were Kwantung Army soldiers with Chinese blood on their hands, and none of them could be spared.

Once he had seen that it was about time, he drove his missile boat to the vicinity of the cargo ship. By then, the Japanese sailors on the cargo ship were in complete chaos. Many people jumped into the sea in a panic to survive, while others clung to planks and drifted away. No one dared to stay on the immobile cargo ship and wait.

Lin Yifan was too lazy to deal with these stragglers, so he directly operated the machine gun on the boat and fired a few rounds, clearing out all the Japanese soldiers on the lifeboat and deck.

He then slowly approached the cargo ship, using his spatial abilities to store the equipment and supplies inside. Finally, he piloted a speedboat alongside the cargo ship and tried to store it in his spatial storage, and surprisingly, he succeeded.

However, a wave of dizziness washed over him, clearly indicating that the cargo ship, weighing several thousand tons, had reached the limit of his current mental capacity.

He would rest for a while and then collect one ship, rest for a while and then collect another ship. It took him more than ten hours to collect all the cargo ships.

By this time, the eastern sky was beginning to lighten. Lin Yifan drove the speedboat around several more times to make sure there were no fish that had escaped before heading west.

Meanwhile, the island nation's headquarters was already stunned by the news that its fleet had been attacked and completely annihilated.

These were the last telegrams sent from two troop transport ships and four cargo ships, all of which were civilian transport vessels requisitioned by the military and belonged to different shipping companies.

They telegraphed their respective shipping companies, informing them that their fleet had been attacked by an unidentified fleet at sea, that all the escorting warships had sunk, that they were surrounded and would be sunk at any moment, and that they were suffering heavy casualties on board. They requested that a fleet be dispatched immediately for rescue.

Upon receiving the news, the shipping companies immediately reported it to the military. The military initially couldn't believe it, but after receiving calls from several shipping companies, they finally accepted the news that three divisions, along with the Fourth Fleet's escort force, had all perished at sea. The entire island nation's headquarters was thrown into chaos by this news.

The news quickly reached the Fool, who swept everything off his desk, looked up at the Navy Minister, and asked in a deep voice, "Is the news confirmed? Three divisions, all gone?"

The Minister of the Navy stood ramrod straight and replied respectfully, "That's right. The naval air force has confirmed that all six capital ships of the escorting Fourth Fleet have sunk, and not a single lifeboat has drifted back. Two infantry divisions and one tank division have all perished off the coast of Jeju Island."

Upon hearing this, the fool's lips twitched almost imperceptibly, but he quickly suppressed it. He reached for his cigarette case, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, took a puff, and then slowly spoke: "Do you know who did it? Was it an American submarine? Or did the Russian navy come?"

The Navy Minister shook his head: "The military has investigated and found no trace of American submarine activity in this area in the past two days. The Russian fleet has not left Vladivostok at all. They can't figure out who did it."

They only said that they were attacked by an unidentified fleet, whose firepower was very strong, and several large ships were sunk in an instant.

After hearing this, the fool stubbed out his cigarette hard, his knuckles turning white from the force: "The Russians are too busy taking care of themselves right now, how could they possibly come right under our noses and wipe out three divisions?"

China currently has no navy available, so even if they wanted to attack us, they wouldn't have the capability.

I think it was the Americans. Their Pearl Harbor was attacked by us, so they must have organized this retaliatory operation.

"Summon everyone in the cabinet and military to me immediately. We must come up with a remedial plan right away to guarantee victory in the Australian campaign. Only by completely occupying Australia can our holy war be guaranteed."
