Chapter 92 Gray Wolf Fangs: Rage and Killing Intent

Chapter 92 Gray Wolf Fangs: Rage and Killing Intent

Have you heard of the Grey Wolf Gang?

Huo Jixing swallowed the food in his mouth, looked directly at the bartender in front of him, and asked a question.

But the elderly bartender seemed not to hear, keeping his head down and wiping the empty wine glass in his hand with a white cloth.

Huo Jixing raised an eyebrow and casually took out a silver coin from his pocket, placing it in front of the old bartender.

Have you heard of the Grey Wolf Gang?

He spoke again, his gaze growing cold, his fingers tapping on the black tabletop.

The elderly bartender glanced at Huo Jixing, his deep gaze falling on the silver coin. He reached out, took it, and slowly put it into his pocket.

"The Grey Wolf Gang? Let me think."

"Are you talking about the newly risen Gray Wolf Gang in the slums? Before, it was just a small gang in the slums, surviving by collecting protection money."

"As you should know, there are at least dozens of these small gangs in the chaotic slums," the elderly bartender said softly, maintaining his smile.

"But recently, the Grey Wolf Gang got lucky for some reason, recruited some strongmen, expanded their territory, and occupied a lot of slum areas."

"Did they offend the two guests?" The elderly bartender stopped wiping the glasses and stared intently at Huo Jixing and his companion.

"Then I suggest that the two guests leave the slums as soon as possible, as they love to slaughter fat outsiders."

"Heh!" Huo Jixing chuckled, frowned as he finished the drink in his bowl, and looked meaningfully at the old bartender.

"I want to know exactly what they do."

A newly emerging gang in the slums dares to touch the Imperial Chapter's pension funds?

The Grey Wolf Gang doesn't seem as simple as it appears.

It's important to know that Noxian soldiers' compensation is handled by the Imperial Army, and requires Darius, as an Imperial General, to sign the order.

Now someone dares to tamper with Darius right under his nose; the power behind them is definitely not to be underestimated.

Moreover, judging from the bartender's information, the Grey Wolf Gang has not been around for long, but it is ruthless and has already seized a lot of territory.

The two factors combined suggest that the reason for the rise to power might be the imperial pension, and the manipulation of the system occurred recently.

"I don't know exactly what he does." The elderly bartender shook his head slightly, brushing aside the stray hairs on his forehead.

Huo Jixing frowned when he saw that the bartender was silent. He pressed down on DeWitt, who was trying to get up, and placed another silver coin on the table.

"Hehe!" The old bartender glanced at DeWitt, chuckled softly, and collected the silver coins on the table.

"I really don't know what shady things the Grey Wolf Gang does in the shadows, but I've heard they do things for some big shots in the Immortal Fortress."

"The Immortal Fortress? Sure enough, the person behind daring to touch the compensation money is no ordinary individual," Huo Jixing thought to himself.

He then nodded slightly and got up to leave with DeWitt.

Inside the tavern, the people who were eating and drinking saw the outsiders preparing to leave, and many of them started to get up with a flicker in their eyes.

Seeing Huo Jixing and his companion heading towards the door, the elderly bartender put down his glass, quickly went to the kitchen counter, and whispered, "Tell the Gray Wolf Gang that someone is spying on them."

"receive!"

From inside the kitchen came a low, guttural response, as if they were already quite adept at it.

Huo Jixing, who was walking away, remained expressionless, the various expressions of the people in the tavern clearly reflected in his mind.

I had just arrived at the entrance, before I even reached the solid wooden door.

The wooden door in front of him was hurriedly pushed open, and a strong smell of alcohol wafted out. Then, a thin figure, seemingly caught off guard, fell into Huo Jixing's arms.

"Hmm?" Huo Jixing looked down at the drunkard in front of him, a cold smile appearing on his lips.

He was filled with anger and had no way to vent it, so he reached out and grabbed a hand that had slipped into his pocket, and gently twisted it.

"Snap!"

Under the terrifying grip, a sound like metal breaking bones rang out.

Then a high-pitched, piercing scream drowned out the clamor in the tavern and drew everyone's attention.

Huo Jixing released his grip and looked calmly at the thin man who had fallen to the ground.

Then, carrying DeWitt, they stepped over each other's bodies and left the tavern.

Crunch!Crunch!

The thick wooden door, pushed open, slowly closed, letting in the biting winter wind.

The tavern patrons, their expressions shifting, snapped out of their daze. They looked at the departing outsider and remained silent, except for the occasional piercing scream.

"Damn, that's too ruthless. My hand bones are completely shattered; it's a total waste now."

"It's a good thing we didn't make a move. Such ruthlessness is most likely due to soldiers from the Legion who returned from the North."

Hearing the murmurs coming from the doorway, the elderly bartender's eyes flickered. He stopped wiping the glasses, his arm trembling slightly, and he felt the silver coins in his pocket getting hot.

"Wait, don't tell the Grey Wolf Gang." He strode to the kitchen food counter and spoke urgently.

"OK."

The lowest level of the slum, in dark alleyways.

Huo Jixing and DeWitt walked in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

"Um?"

Huo Jixing, who was walking along the alley wall, stopped and stared into the dark depths with his cold eyes. His left hand was on the long sword hanging at his waist, and his right hand was raised to signal DeWitt to be careful.

Soon after, the sound of light footsteps could be heard from the dimly lit path ahead.

Judging from the chaotic sound of footsteps, there seemed to be quite a few people coming from the opposite direction.

In the dim light, Huo Jixing and De Wit stopped, and saw a large number of men dressed in black emerging from the depths of the alley.

They had fierce expressions and held different weapons in their hands, such as sticks or short knives, and they looked like gangsters who frequented the streets.

At the very front was a tall, muscular middle-aged man wearing chainmail.

Upon seeing Huo Jixing and DeWitt making way for him, the middle-aged man's expression changed, but he smiled politely and led his men away from the area.

However, the gang members gave the two of them rather ill-intentioned looks before leaving.

Huo Jixing stood at the alley entrance, watching the departing gangsters. Thinking of the middle-aged man's smile, for some reason, a sense of unease rose in his heart.

He then quickened his pace and arrived at the alley where Moore's widow lived.

"The taste of blood!"

Huo Jixing frowned, stopped again, and twitched his nostrils, catching a whiff of rust in the mixed smells of the air.

As he rounded the corner, he saw Korda lying in the grayish-black sewage, surrounded by a little sticky blood.

"Korda!"

DeWitt, standing beside him, exclaimed in surprise and quickly walked to Korda, first moving him out of the sewage, and then beginning to examine him.

"He has fallen into a coma. He was tortured earlier. The doctors need to examine him for the specifics."

As Huo Jixing listened to DeWitt's report, his expression gradually darkened, and his cold gaze fell on Korda's body.

His body was covered in dark gray sewage, his hands showed signs of breakage, several bloody cuts ran down his chest, and his weapon was missing.

The most noticeable injuries were on his head, with multiple wounds on his face and a gash on the back of his head from which blood was flowing freely.

"So brazenly?"

Huo Jixing glanced at the collapsed houses not far away and the unconscious Korda before him, and murmured, "This is getting more and more interesting!"

He then turned to look back at the path he had come from, and a crimson-gold radiance bloomed in his pupils.
