Chapter 40: Hell Mission Team Members Meet

Chapter 40: Hell Mission Team Members Meet

The cold winter wind was biting, and scattered snowflakes gradually covered the bluestone streets.

Huo Jixing stepped through the fresh snow, lowered his eyes, and examined the black wooden box in his hand, his thoughts churning.

Inside the side hall of the council hall.

Although Darius's mission briefing consisted of only a few sentences, it vividly conveyed the cruelty and cold-bloodedness of war.

Venture deep into Freljord!

Disrupt the Winter's Claw tribe's supply route!

Slaughter all the clan warriors you encounter along the way!

This was no longer a simple scout mission, but rather a task involving small teams penetrating deep behind enemy lines.

All Noxian scouts not only have to fight clan warriors, but also cope with the harsh environment, and even have to source their own supplies.

"This is truly a hellish mission!" Huo Jixing murmured.

He recalled the many Noxian soldiers in the side hall just now. He had expected there to be dissent or refusal, but to his surprise, not a single one of them refused the mission.

"No wonder he's a war maniac; even if hell lies ahead, he won't hesitate to jump in."

Following the crowded flow of people, Huo Jixing returned to the front of the three-story building.

Just as he was about to step inside, he seemed to sense something and quietly stopped.

"Are there outsiders here?"

Extending his spiritual perception, he sensed the life force of many strangers inside the small building, some of whom were no less powerful than Eric.

"etc.!"

Huo Jixing had a sudden flash of inspiration and seemed to realize something: "Could it be a member of my team?"

The war has begun.

Those of them who had special missions, who were to meet Darius, remained at the camp temporarily.

Meanwhile, many other Noxian soldiers have already set off for Freljord.

Push open the door and enter the reception room.

The room, which was originally empty, now had quite a few people, some standing and some sitting, gathered in twos and threes.

Huo Jixing's gaze swept across the room and found that in addition to Eric, DeWitt, and Moore, there were six more people, making up a ten-person scout team.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Eric nod slightly to her.

Huo Jixing walked to the center of the room, his right hand resting on the slender long sword at his waist, and said with a soft laugh.

"May I introduce myself?"

"Sharuba!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a deep voice sounded from his right side.

As Huo Jixing turned to look, a Noxian veteran clad in heavy armor and carrying a sharp axe came into view.

His temples were gray, with a few gray strands mixed in with his hairline, and wrinkles appeared on his resolute face.

It is somewhat short, but its waist is straight, like an old pine tree standing tall, giving it a sense of unyielding strength.

Noxus veteran!

A veteran who has fought countless battles and crawled out of piles of corpses!

"Bueno!"

Huo Jixing's eyes flickered, and he saw a Noxian soldier beside Sharuba who was undoubtedly exceptionally outstanding.

Clad in armor, with a cold and stern expression, his eyes were calm yet fervent; beneath the sturdy composite armor stood a tall and imposing figure.

His preferred weapons are two sharp longswords.

"Tulio!" a slightly deep voice rang out.

What came into view was a round face with a kind smile on its lips, giving off an honest and simple vibe.

He was clad in chainmail, of medium build, with a well-proportioned waist and strong limbs.

The black shield he carried and the short blade hanging at his waist indicated that he was a shield guard skilled in defense.

"Korda!"

A rough voice sounded from behind.

Huo Jixing turned his head and looked at the burly soldier in front of him.

He had a straight nose, a wide mouth, thick hair, and bushy eyebrows. His eyes, though small, had very dark eyelashes and a sharp edge.

Just standing there, I felt a slight stinging sensation.

Huo Jixing raised an eyebrow. Judging from his aura, the burly Korda in front of him was extremely strong, on par with Eric, or even stronger.

"Rand!"

A cold, piercing sound rang out from the corner of the room. Huo Jixing looked over and saw a Noxian soldier leaning against the wall.

He was lean and wiry, as fierce as a wolf, with a scar across his left eye on his cold face.

In particular, his gaze was staring unabashedly at Huo Jixing, as if he intended to challenge the newly appointed squad leader.

"Hagger!"

A deep, resonant voice boomed like muffled thunder.

Huo Jixing felt a dark shadow loom over him. Looking up, he saw a minotaur with dark brown skin looking down at him.

"A minotaur?"

He was the most eye-catching person among everyone present.

According to Huo Jixing's estimation, the minotaur named Heig was at least eight feet tall, much taller and stronger than everyone else in the room, looking like a small giant.

He wore special steel armor, with short, thick horns tipped with menacing steel points that gleamed with a chilling light under the bright lamplight.

He carried a menacing iron shield as tall as himself on his back, thick and sturdy, casting a deep shadow.

"Shield Guards again?" Huo Jixing thought to himself.

He then immediately realized that this mission was not a traditional scout mission.

Instead, they went deep behind enemy lines!

A direct confrontation is definitely inevitable.

In this situation, the importance of the shield guard becomes very apparent in small-scale skirmishes.

"Tsk tsk, no wonder he's a legion advisor." Huo Jixing thought to himself, "Wilson has thought things through so thoroughly that I don't have to worry about anything."

He then looked at his scout team members with great interest, unable to hide his excitement, and stretched his body as he walked over.

"Who wants to go first?"

Suddenly.

A silent atmosphere filled the room.

Everyone, including Eric and DeWitt, looked at each other, seemingly confused about the new decimator's intentions.

The atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

Huo Jixing slowly stopped what he was doing, looked at the crowd, and saw some strange looks in their eyes.

Like watching a play?!

With a slight twitch of his brow, Huo Jixing's right hand, which was resting on the hilt of his knife, began to tremble slightly, his inner emotions becoming increasingly difficult to contain.

No, what's going on? Why isn't anyone coming forward?

Generally speaking, if a new recruit like me, with less than six months of military service, becomes a scout captain, wouldn't anyone try to challenge me?

Perhaps it's because he's known Huo Jixing for a long time.

Eric knew that his former subordinate occasionally had some wildly imaginative ideas.

He suppressed a laugh, walked up to Huo Jixing, and spoke, breaking the silence.

"What is our mission?"

Huo Jixing loosened the hilt of his knife, calmly and collectedly took out a mission briefing from his pocket, and tossed it over.

"We need to go deep into Freljord and disrupt the Winterclaw clan's supply lines."

As the words fell, the silence dissipated, and a restlessness emerged in the room.

Without needing many words of explanation, all the Noxian soldiers understood the difficulty of this mission, but no one withdrew.

Instead, he lowered his head and began to silently tidy up his armor and weapons.

"When are we leaving?" Sharuba asked.

The Noxian veteran was staring at Hoji Star, his weathered face filled with unwavering determination.

Even if the task at hand represents hell, he will not hesitate.

"Tomorrow, at dawn!" Huo Jixing said in a deep voice.

Immediately afterwards, he took back the mission briefing that everyone had read from Eric's hand, rubbed his fingers together, and a burst of crimson-gold flames burst forth, scorching the parchment.

In an instant, the ashes fell at his feet.

"Alright, now that everyone knows the mission, let's get some rest!"

Huo Jixing looked around at everyone, then turned and walked upstairs.

In this scout squad that belonged to him, apart from him being a superhuman, the rest were all ordinary people.

However, their skills are quite good; at the very least, they are advanced warriors, and many have already reached the level of Conqueror's Blade.

Upon arriving at the upstairs room, Huo Jixing closed the door and took out a black wooden box from his pocket.

"A gift from Darius?"
