Noxus Glory

Chapter 19 Inquiry and Conversation

Chapter 19 Inquiry and Conversation

Is it that fast?

Huo Jixing was alarmed; in just one night, the Noxian camp had already sent people over.

The middle-aged man, wearing a red and gray robe, heard footsteps, turned around and saw Huo Jixing returning. He immediately stepped forward.

The middle-aged man wore a long robe with dense gold and red patterns. He stood upright, had a square face, and bright eyes, appearing very capable and experienced.

"Wilson, Legion Advisor, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Legion Advisor?

Huo Jixing was puzzled, but without stopping, he immediately extended his right hand and said softly, "Huo Jixing, you can call me Xing!"

"Aren't you going to invite me in?" Wilson said with a smile, pointing to the simple stone house in front of him.

Squeak!

Pushing open the wooden door, Huo Jixing tidied the wooden table and pulled out a wooden stool from under it.

"I'm sorry, the place is simple and there's not much to offer."

"It's alright!" Wilson bent down and sat down, his gaze shifting as he surveyed the rugged stone house before him.

The walls and corners showed signs of polishing, and the old quilts on the wooden beds were neatly folded. Compared to other soldiers' dormitories, the area was much cleaner and tidier.

"Eric reported on the situation encountered during the mission last night." Wilson withdrew his scrutinizing gaze and stared at Huo Jixing in front of him, a sense of curiosity rising within him.

Judging from his appearance, he had a thin face and an unusually pale complexion, but his vigorous spirit was undeniable.

Its thin, emaciated body was so bony that a splash of water on its chest would reflect onto its back.

However, Eric's words last night seemed to mention that Hoji Star's fire ability was related to his own flesh and blood.

While Wilson was sizing up Huo Jixing, he was also observing the other person.

Unlike the Noxian elite soldiers he remembered, Wilson had a slightly gentle demeanor, especially his bright eyes, which seemed full of goodwill yet could see through everything, making Huo Jixing feel a little nervous.

Legion Advisor!

This is a special military rank unique to the Noxian Empire.

Many Imperial generals highly praised the work and abilities of the Legion advisors, saying they were an indispensable part of the Imperial Legion.

Because they possess ruthless and discerning eyes, they can select the most elite soldiers for the empire, much like picking a sheep from a pack of wolves a mile away. Their abilities are unique and rare.

"Hojistar, the Wanderer." Wilson took out a parchment scroll from his pocket, inside which was wrapped a quill pen. As he unfolded it, a deep voice came out.

"Under imperial orders, I was conscripted into the Noxian army."

"I entered the camp three months ago and carried out two missions in total: one reconnaissance mission and one scout mission."

"He was seriously injured while on a reconnaissance mission and recovered after a month of recuperation."

"Immediately join Eric's scout team and carry out scout missions to infiltrate Freljord."

Wilson paused for a moment, looking at Hoji Star in front of him, whose pale face was unlike that of most Noxians.

"During the fierce battle with the raiders, he unexpectedly awakened extraordinary powers, possibly of the fire type."

"Yes!"

Huo Jixing remained expressionless, having anticipated this all along.

This is indeed everything he went through, and there's nothing to deny about it.

This shows that the Noxian camp reacted very quickly. You should know that before, he was just an ordinary Noxian soldier, but in such a short time, he had collected all the information he had gathered since entering the camp.

"Ionians?"

Faced with Wilson's sudden question.

Huo Jixing frowned, his face trembled, and a strange light flickered in his eyes.

He sensed something unusual in what seemed like a simple question.

It was as if his next answer would directly affect his fate.

Noxus!

Ionia!

A flood of information rushed into Huo Jixing's mind.

Having memories of his past life, he was naturally aware of the blood feud between the two.

Wilson's questioning made him realize some things he had previously overlooked.

Timeline!

His point in time!

Huo Jixing's eyes were obscure, his thoughts churning.

All told, he had only been on the continent of Valoran for a little over two months, and had spent most of that time on missions, so he was unable to get a detailed understanding of the outside world.

But Wilson's sudden question made him vaguely guess at the point in time he was in.

"Noxians!"

Huo Jixing licked his lips, suppressing his inner turmoil, and finally answered with unwavering determination.

This time, Wilson's expression shifted, seemingly surprised by Huo Jixing's firm answer. He dipped his quill in ink and splashed ink across the parchment scroll covered with words.

He then continued writing without a care, adding the words "Noxus" after Huo Jixing's name.

"Here's your token!"

Wilson smiled broadly at Huo Jixing's answer, in a good mood. He reached into his pocket, took out an iron token, and slowly pushed it in front of Huo Jixing.

"The Empire yearns for the participation of every extraordinary individual, especially its citizens!"

"It's a great honor!"

Huo Jixing nodded solemnly, extended his right hand, and picked up the iron token in front of him.

The token is small, easily fitting in the palm of your hand, and is made entirely of refined iron with a simple and clear design.

The iron edges are decorated with rough patterns, and the front is inscribed with Huo Jixing's name and his new position—a centurion.

The back is engraved with the Noxian Empire's double-bladed axe emblem.

When painted with a deep red color, it exudes a strong, bloody, and murderous aura.

"You'll have a new room in the center of the rest area," Wilson said with a smile, looking around the rather simple stone house.

"Furthermore, the Empire will make corresponding arrangements for your awakened extraordinary abilities."

Runes and magic are among the most important strategic resources on the continent of Valoran.

Despite the far-reaching impact of the Rune Wars, every power on the continent is vying to win over the extraordinary individuals who wield these powers.

They are not afraid of repeating past mistakes, but rather of being powerless to resist when disaster strikes.

Even the most conservative Demacia Empire, which despises magical power the most, is undergoing changes.

Huo Jixing calmly put away the token. He understood the actions of the legion advisor and the conditions offered by the Noxian Empire.

In my memories from my previous life, there was information about the Noxian Empire.

This was also one of the factors that influenced his answer.

In this vast and renowned empire, regardless of social standing, background, homeland, or personal wealth, anyone can gain power, status, and respect in Noxus, provided they demonstrate the necessary abilities.

In particular, those with supernatural abilities who can use magic will be given special consideration.

The Noxian Empire would even actively seek out such individuals, allowing their special talents to be honed and utilized most efficiently for the Empire's benefit.

"Any further questions?"

Wilson put away the parchment scroll, set aside the quill, and spoke softly.

I'd love to recommend this book and keep reading!
