The rebels surged in like a tidal wave; the war came too quickly, like a pot of boiling water being poured over someone's head, making their eyes water.

After a night of fighting, the river was covered with corpses and blood. When Xie Yan boarded the ship and rushed over, he saw Murong Huang waving and laughing at him. There was a person hanging from the mast of the warship. Judging from the figure, he looked very similar to Ning Yu.

He sneered and immediately turned around to send people downstream to search.

The somewhat swollen body was pulled out of the water by Murong Huang. After a night of fighting, the warship he was protecting was attacked by the sailors, causing Ning Yu to accidentally fall into the water. When he went into the water to retrieve him, he was already dead.

He immediately brought the corpse up and hung it on the ghost pole, waiting for Xie Xun to come, intending to lure him into a trap and force him to open the North Pass. However, Xie Yan caught up with the troops as they quickly retreated, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry.

Xie Yan was in no hurry. He originally wanted Ning Yu to die in front of the southwestern rebels, so he created a fake corpse. However, Murong Huang came to the ferry and interfered. Xie Jingchen is really something.

Xie Yan was in a bad mood. Looking at the signal flare overhead, he said coldly, "Hurry up and chase after them."

After a night of chaotic fighting, Xie Yan's troops escorted Ning Yu away. Because the ferry crossing was opened, the rebels in the southwest somehow got wind of it, resulting in the river being filled with fighting troops who wanted to enter Beihai Pass.

The army inside the pass also received the news, and a fierce battle ensued.

Ning Yu had no choice but to turn back and leave the river crossing. Under the escort of soldiers, he detoured through Hanchuan Pass, intending to enter the main camp of the Beihai Empire by waterway outside the pass.

These are all things that General Zhang said. He personally said that Xie Yan wanted to arrange for her to fake her death at the ferry, but he did not expect the unexpected turn of events with Murong Huang.

But it's better this way. Everyone saw her fall into the river and die in that great battle, and now no one knows that the real her is still alive.

"understood."

With things having come to this, Ning Yu had no other choice but to flee for her life overnight, her face pale and unsightly.

General Zhang had no choice. If it weren't for Murong Huang, they would already be meeting up with the Crown Prince downstream and sending the Crown Princess to Ximisha. How could they have been forced to come here?

"We still have several days of travel ahead, Your Highness, please have something to eat first."

In the dense forest, Ning Yu sat on the straw, clutching her stomach, and slowly ate the naan bread and water that General Zhang handed her.

After resting for half an hour, the escorts went ahead to clear the way. They needed to hurry through the pass, leave the North Customs through the West Gate, and head to Ximisha.

The weather has been bad these past few days. After traveling through the jungle for most of the day, we boarded a large ship docked at the shore.

The Beihai Sea is vast, with crashing waves. Under the midday sun, you can see the approaching convoy.

The series of defeats in the war had brought Xie Jingchen's anger to the brink of breaking, but then, in the middle of the night, an explosive piece of news arrived.

A major battle took place at the Beihai Pass ferry crossing, and Murong Huang fled in panic into Beihai.

Xie Xun was coming to the southwest in person, and Xie Jingchen no longer had time to carefully plan his troops. Upon receiving the news, he immediately led his troops to the North Sea.

Upon arrival, he discovered that he had been tricked by Murong Huang. The waterway to the north had been opened, and he had no choice but to send troops back to stop the pursuing army from within the pass.

The sun high in the sky seemed to be shrouded in a bloody light. Xie Yan split his forces into three groups and chased Murong Huang all night. In order to prevent others from discovering Ning Yu's whereabouts, he did not go to look for her himself.

But fate is so cruel. By sheer coincidence, Murong Huang ran into that towering ship floating at sea while fleeing for his life.

"You really didn't die, Ning Yu. We meet again."

The sound of unrestrained laughter echoed across the vast sea. The approaching ships slowly emerged from the thick fog. Ning Yu stood on the bow of one of the ships and immediately spotted Murong Huang's flamboyant red robe.

Their eyes met, and he smiled and blew her a kiss. Ning Yu's face darkened. What a show-off.

"Drive over there and stop them."

Upon hearing the Crown Prince's words, the female general immediately gave the order, and several warships quickly formed an encirclement and approached.

Beihai is not a shallow river with few waves; if you fall in, you could be wiped out. General Zhang's heart sank as he looked at the pursuing troops. He no longer cared about concealing his tracks and quickly threw a smoke bomb above his head.

In an instant, the surrounding air seemed to burst into flames, crackling and burning. With a whooshing sound, arrows, like a sudden rain, pierced the sea breeze and shot towards them in rows.

The people of Shangliang quickly set up defenses, and a large crossbow, more than half a person tall, was carried up.

Murong Huang stood behind the crowd, looking at the figure behind the cabin, and laughed, "Don't hurt anyone with the crossbow. Get closer, I want to board her ship."

The sea was turbulent, with the surging waves crashing against the ships. The soldiers of Shangliang were unable to advance and instead launched sheepskin rafts to try and get closer, crossing the sea.

Ning Yu looked at the boundless sea. There was nowhere else to go on the sea except this ship, but the disparity in manpower was too great, and they would be attacked sooner or later.

"Princess Consort, you go first. I will cover your retreat."

Ning Yu looked at the soldiers who had protected her all the way from Beihai Pass, glanced at the spare boat that had been lowered into the water, and said with difficulty, "If I leave, none of you will survive."

The enemy was on the other side, and Murong Huang's target was her. She knew very well that if she escaped, the soldiers covering her retreat would all die in this sea area.

"To die for one's lord is an honor."

Ning Yu couldn't understand their thoughts. She stared at the map on the sea, trying her best to find a way to reach the shore.

"Don't fight them, head towards the north ferry crossing as quickly as possible."

Looking at the circle she pointed to on the topographical map, General Zhang sighed, "This can only buy us a temporary reprieve."

"Their troops came from the southwest waterway, which means that the Great Xia army is pursuing them. We just need to hold them off for a while and wait for reinforcements."

That was the only way to proceed. General Zhang immediately ordered his men to set sail quickly towards the southeast waterway.
