The dining hall at Peking University was much larger than Jiang Che had imagined. It was a three-story building with over a hundred tables in the lobby alone.

Today is the registration day for new students. There weren't too many people eating, but there were still queues at each of the food windows.

The air was filled with the aroma of various dishes mixed together. Xu Wenbin took two deep breaths, looking extremely hungry.

"Wow, this cafeteria is huge! The variety of food at the food stalls is more than five times that of my high school cafeteria."

"Where did you go to high school?" Song Mingxuan asked, pushing up his glasses.

"Liaobei Experimental School, I don't know if you've heard of it, but the school is pretty good in every way except for the cafeteria, which is small and run-down."

Speaking of high school life, Xu Wenbin couldn't help but sigh, "It made us students fight for food like it was a battle every noon. And we Northeasterners don't eat as fast as people from other provinces. If we went late, there were no seats in the cafeteria, so we could only stand and wait."

Xu Wenbin then launched into a long rant about his high school life to the three people beside him.

Jiang Che didn't pay much attention, though; his focus remained on his phone.

He sent a message to Su Qinghe before entering the cafeteria, but several minutes had passed and she still hadn't replied.

Jiang Che glanced at the time again; it was 11:42.

Just as I was wondering whether I should urge them again, my phone vibrated.

"Ah Che! We're here! It's on the first floor, to the right of the entrance!"

"Hey, I see you! Over here! Can you see me?!"

The message was followed by a string of excited emojis.

Seeing this, Jiang Che looked up to the right in the direction Su Qinghe had indicated, and sure enough, he saw Su Qinghe not far away in a window seat.

She was standing next to the chair, tiptoeing and looking in his direction, with three other girls standing beside her.

A tall girl with her hair in a bun was looking at her phone while munching on some snacks.

Another short-haired girl wearing round-framed glasses sat quietly in her seat, with a plate already set in front of her.

There was another girl in a pink dress with delicate features standing next to Su Qinghe, seemingly talking to her.

When Su Qinghe saw Jiang Che, her face lit up, and she waved to him from a distance of more than ten meters.

That curve, that amplitude, as if afraid he wouldn't see it.

Jiang Che smiled helplessly, then put away his phone and walked towards Su Qinghe.

"Brothers, come on, let's sit over there."

Upon hearing this, the three of them, though confused, obediently changed direction.

Xu Wenbin followed Jiang Che with a curious look and asked, "What's wrong, Lao Jiang? Did you run into someone you know?"

"Yes, my girlfriend."

"Holy crap? Your girlfriend is also from Peking University? What's her major?" Xu Wenbin perked up immediately and quickly continued to ask.

Jiang Che truthfully replied, "He's also from our college, majoring in accounting."

"Accounting? I've looked at the schedule. Some of our classes are taken together with accounting, so does that mean you two can go to and from get out of class together?"

"almost."

Xu Wenbin shook his head with a sigh, "It's true what they say, comparisons are odious. I'm still figuring out how to meet girls, and you've already brought your wife to school."

Song Mingxuan added casually from behind, "That's why I said that shadow doesn't affect you much."

"...Old Song, can you please keep quiet today?"

Soon, Jiang Che led his three roommates to Su Qinghe.

Su Qinghe hopped over like a puppy waiting for its owner and hugged Jiang Che's arm affectionately and naturally.

"Ah Che, you guys got here so fast."

"You guys are faster." Jiang Che glanced at the three girls behind her. "Are these your roommates?"

"Hmm!" Su Qinghe turned around and began to introduce her like a little tour guide, her tone filled with obvious joy, "This is my roommate Shen Shiyu, she's in the same major as me."

The elegant girl in the pink dress smiled slightly and greeted him generously: "Hello, my name is Shen Shiyu."

She has a soft voice and is very tactful in her interactions with others; she's clearly the kind of girl with good upbringing.

"This is Lin tide, majoring in International Economics and Trade."

The tall girl with her hair in a bun mumbled "Hi" while chewing snacks, then looked up and saw Jiang Che's face, her chewing motion noticeably slowing down.

She turned her head to look at Su Qinghe, then at Jiang Che, opened her mouth, but finally swallowed the snack that was about to be eaten before finally uttering a sentence.

"Your boyfriend?"

Su Qinghe nodded, her expression revealing a hint of obvious pride.

Lin tide's gaze swept over Jiang Che's face twice. "Handsome enough."

Concise and powerful, highly praised.

"The last one is Zhao Weilan, who majored in financial engineering."

Su Qinghe pointed to the short-haired girl with glasses sitting in the seat.

Zhao Weilan smiled politely and nodded, "Hello."

He doesn't talk much and has a rather introverted personality, much like Song Mingxuan.

After greeting the three people in turn, Jiang Che also briefly introduced his own group.

"This is Xu Wenbin, my roommate, majoring in business administration."

Xu Wenbin, unable to contain himself any longer, took a step forward excitedly, "Hello everyone! I'm from Liaobei! I'm outgoing, warm, and a great conversationalist. If you ever need any help, just let me know!"

Although he seemed to be addressing everyone, his eyes betrayed him.

His gaze kept drifting unconsciously towards Lin tide.

It's obvious that he's interested in Lin tide.

Jiang Che continued, "This is Song Mingxuan, majoring in financial engineering."

Song Mingxuan adjusted his glasses and nodded slightly, "Hello."

Zhao Weilan looked up at him. "Financial Engineering? What a coincidence, me too."

"I heard it just now." Song Mingxuan nodded.

The two looked at each other for a second, then simultaneously looked away. One sat back down in his chair and started looking at his phone, while the other stood still with a calm expression.

Xu Wenbin muttered to himself, "Why do these two seem so strangely similar? Is it just my imagination?"

Finally, it was Lu Ziang's turn.

He stepped forward, smiled, and nodded to the girls.

"Lu Ziang, Business Administration. Nice to meet you. Please take care of me."

During the introductions, Lu Ziang's gaze swept steadily over everyone, but when it finally fell on Su Qinghe, it lingered on her face for a few more seconds.

Then it was moved away as if nothing had happened.

Jiang Che noticed this detail, but didn't say anything or show any unusual behavior.

He's probably overthinking it.

It's probably just because Su Qinghe's outfit today is really good, so it's normal for anyone to take a second look.

But Jiang Che always believed in an ironclad rule: it's better to be overly cautious than to be careless.
