Chapter 24 Visiting the Female Father

After leaving the marriage registration office, Jun Ming's expression softened slightly.

"Lord Junming, would you like me to escort you back first?"

"My things are packed, but they're still at my father-in-law's place. I need to go back and get them."

The slight foreign sensation on his neck was unfamiliar to Atal, and the suppressed mental power made him feel very insecure.

Jun Ming had a stern face ever since he entered the marriage registration hall, which made Atar afraid to say anything.

"May I go with Atal to visit the female father?"

Jun Ming suddenly had a whim and felt that since he had married Atar, he should at least visit his "mother-in-law".

Atal was somewhat surprised, after all, no male insect would visit the female's father after marrying her.

Generally speaking, once a female insect marries, it's equivalent to selling herself to a male insect, and she has no further connection with her original family.

Families that care for their female insects might even give them gifts to please the males, hoping to make their females suffer less.

"If you'd like, of course you can."

"I'll send a message to my father-in-law and tell him to get ready."

Atal immediately responded.

"Atal, please take me home first."

"I'm going to prepare some things to take with me as a gift for my father-in-law."

Atal naturally wouldn't refuse.

He took Jun Ming aboard the starship he had arrived on.

"Your Excellency Junming, please be seated."

After saying that, Atal got into the driver's seat.

Jun Ming then sat in the passenger seat.

Atal piloted the starship with composure, and the pride and nobility emanating from his very being almost mesmerizing to Jun Ming.

Atal felt his heart race when he noticed Jun Ming's gaze.

The male insect's undisguised admiration ignited Atar's heart, leaving him somewhat bewildered.

I felt a little dazed when I was piloting the starship.

Once home, Jun Ming disembarked from the starship, turned around and called to Atal, "Atal, let's go together."

"......good."

Suppressing the inexplicable throbbing in his heart, Atar followed them into the house.

"The two main insects are back."

Dun Dun immediately noticed that Jun Ming and the other person had returned home and excitedly went to greet them.

"Where are the Atar Lord's belongings?"

Dundun circled around the two of them, then looked outside again. Not seeing that Atar had taken anything, he asked in confusion.

"It's still with his father-in-law. We'll go get it together later."

Jun Ming watched Dun Dun's actions with amusement and slowly explained.

"Okay."

"Should we prepare some gifts for the female of the Atar chief beetle?"

Dun Dun had lived on Earth before. Although he came from the Zerg, he knew some Earthly etiquette and was not corrupted by the Zerg's distorted worldview.

"Go to the glass room and pick out some fresh fruit for the female father to take with him."

Jun thought for a moment, then turned to Atal and asked, "Wouldn't it be too little to just bring some natural fruit?"

"What else does the female father like?"

"Should we go to the mall and buy some jewelry or clothes for Daddy?"

Jun Ming really wanted to leave a good impression on Atal's father, after all, this was the second elder he had actually met besides the ranger.

Moreover, he is the female father of his beloved "wife".

She is his "mother-in-law".

"My father doesn't really like those fancy jewelry pieces, but the fruits that Lord Junming prepared are quite nice."

Atal tasted the so-called natural fruit at Junming's house yesterday; it was big, sweet, and fresh.

Natural fruits are expensive because they are difficult to cultivate, and generally only male insects can afford to eat them; some female insects may never even see one in their entire lives.

Therefore, Atal genuinely felt that these fruits were very valuable.

"It doesn't need to cost too much."

Atal hastily refused.

"Um......"

"Okay, we'll do as Atal says."

Junming knew that natural fruits were expensive, and he was afraid that giving too many gifts at once would frighten Atal's father, so he planned to give something else next time.

As they spoke, Dundun moved quickly, packing two large boxes of fruit, which were still fresh and juicy, with some water droplets floating on their surfaces.

"Can."

Jun Ming glanced at it, inspected it, and thought it was pretty good, presentable enough.

"Let's go."

Dundun led the way with two large boxes of fruit on his head, while Junming pulled Atar behind.

Upon arriving at the main gate, Jun Ming intended to carry the box onto the starship, but Atal pulled his arm.

"How could we possibly entrust such a matter to Lord Junming?"

"Leave it to me."

As he spoke, he picked up the fruit from Dun Dun's head and boarded the starship.

Junming did not refuse. He patted Dundun's head and told it to guard the home, then followed Atar onto the starship.

The flight was fast, and we arrived at Susie's home.

After receiving the news from Atal that the male insect was going to visit her, Susie was restless and very uneasy.

"Beep, beep, beep."

Because Atal was carrying fruit, Junming went to knock on the door first.

Susie heard the noise and quickly came to open the door.

"Greetings, Lord Junming, please come in."

Susie tried her best to appear calm.

Atal placed his things on the coffee table in the living room and was also pulled by Jun Ming to sit on the sofa. Susie then took her seat as well.

"You're welcome."

"You are Atal's mother-father, and naturally you are my mother-father as well."

"After I was rescued from the junk planet by Atal, I did not find any family members whose genes matched mine."

"So you are now my only elder."

"I should also call you Father, just like Atal."

"I hope you don't mind."

Jun Ming's words left Susie somewhat at a loss.

"Of course I wouldn't mind, please don't joke around."

"I am truly surprised that you would think this way."

As Susie spoke, she carefully observed Jun Ming's expression, afraid of seeing even the slightest displeasure.

After all, if you displease the male insect, the one who will suffer in the end will be your own child, Atar.

Seeing Susie's restraint, Junming didn't say anything more and opened the box containing the fruit.

"This is a small token of my appreciation for you, some fresh fruit, as a gift."

Susie had never seen a male beetle so generous before, suddenly bringing out two large boxes of fresh fruit, which surprised her.

"You...you're too kind."

"These two large boxes of fresh fruit are too valuable; please take them back."

"Now that you've recovered, you should eat more fruit to replenish your nutrition."

Susie hurriedly refused.

"I have many more at home. These were specially brought for you. You can keep them for yourself."

After some initial refusal, Susie finally agreed to leave the two large boxes of fruit.

"Please don't call me 'Your Excellency' anymore; it sounds too formal."

"Just treat me like you would Atal, like a junior."

Seeing you always feels very warm and familiar.

Susie glanced at Atal, and seeing Atal give a cryptic nod, she finally agreed.

They talked for a while longer, but it mostly revolved around the matchmaking between Junming and Atal.

After a while, Atal said he was going upstairs to get his packed luggage. Susie got up too, saying she was going to help out and that she had some things to give to Atal.

Sensing that the two seemed to have something to say to each other, Jun Ming did not get up and remained seated, waiting.

Susie poured tea for Junming, nodded to him to wait a moment, and the two went upstairs together.
