HP: Wormwood and Lightning Wood

Chapter 89 Suppression Operation

After burying Regulus, West and Snape returned to the Hogwarts cellars.

West closed the door gently, and silence filled the air.

West hesitated for a moment, then took two cups from the cabinet in the corner, poured steaming hot black tea into them, and placed one of them in front of Snape.

"Severus, you're sad. Why?" he asked softly.

Snape opened his mouth, felt the dryness in his throat, and took a sip of black tea.

"...I'm not as pure as him," he said.

West sat down opposite Snape, his gaze calm. "You made your choice, Severus. That's enough."

Snape looked up. "You're always like this..." Unconditional indulgence.

His brows relaxed, and he seemed much more at ease.

The silence was suddenly broken by the hooting of an owl outside the door.

West stood up and opened the door. An owl was standing in the doorway, pecking at the cellar door.

West accepted the letter delivered by the night owl.

"Whose?" Snape asked.

"From Remus Lupin." West opened the letter, read it, and handed it to Snape.

Snape took the letter, read it carefully, and his gaze gradually turned serious. "Fenrir Greyback executed a 'traitor'?"

"The werewolf leader who bit Lupin, is it, Severus?" West's lips curled into a playful smile. "Do you think he'd be willing to submit?"

"Impossible," Snape said with disgust, his eyes cold. "He has completely lost his humanity."

"That makes things easier." West pulled out a brand new parchment, his pen tip gliding across the paper with ink.

After writing his reply, he whistled to summon an owl and tied the letter to its leg.

"What are you going to do?" Alarm bells rang in Snape's mind.

West squinted, his expression flickering with the candlelight. "If we can't win them over, then kill them."

Moonlight filtered through the broken clouds and spilled across the English wilderness. Guided by the Marauder's Map sent by Lupin, West led his men into a deep forest shrouded in mist year-round.

The damp, decaying leaves crunched underfoot, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of blood mixed with the scent of earth.

Caspard followed silently beside West.

Behind the procession, thirty-two wizards marched in unison, their black cloaks billowing in the night wind like a flock of silent crows.

These private armed forces, secretly trained by Somerset, consist entirely of wizards skilled in combat magic.

It's worth mentioning that each of them carried a small Muggle pistol on their belt—a deadly weapon modified with magic, capable of firing ordinary bullets as well as being loaded with specially made magical ammunition.

West named the team Oroporo.

"Vester?" Lupin's figure suddenly appeared in front of the group, the blue light of Apparition not yet completely dissipated.

He looked at the fully armed team, a look of surprise and unease appearing on his pale face.

"Lead the way, Lupin," West said. He brushed the fallen leaves from his shoulder, his expression indifferent.

Lupin gripped his wand tightly, his Adam's apple bobbing. "I want to ask you, what exactly are you planning to do? Greyback captured three werewolves who had recovered, he..."

"I will rescue them," West interrupted him, his dark green eyes gleaming in the moonlight.

Lupin's tense shoulders finally relaxed, and he turned and walked at the front, the blue light from the tip of his wand illuminating the thick fog of the night.

The group moved silently under the moonlight, winding its way into the depths of the woods.

As Lupin pushed aside a clump of thorns, a dark cave suddenly appeared before him.

At the cave entrance, three or four werewolves were lying prone on the mangled deer carcass, their sharp fangs brutally tearing at the still twitching legs, and dark red organs dripping from their claws onto the ground.

A cheerful greeting abruptly broke the deathly silence.

West walked out of the shadows of the trees, his hands in his pockets, the smile on his lips appearing particularly serene in the moonlight.

The werewolf suddenly shook its head, its murky, beastly eyes flashing with ferocity, and let out a deafening growl. In an instant, it arched its back and pounced.

West remained motionless, his dark green pupils snaking with serpentine vertical lines.

An invisible force swept out like a hurricane, sending several werewolves flying backward with screams, crashing heavily into the surrounding old trees.

The bark was cracked like a spiderweb, and the trees twitched and slid down, leaving long trails of blood on the ground.

The loud noise startled the depths of the cave, and a group of werewolves rushed out one after another.

West's gaze swept across the pack of wolves, landing precisely on Fenrir Greyback standing at the very back. "How come there are only these? Where are the other werewolves?"

"...We've already won over the other werewolves," Lupin muttered to himself.

Lupin and Oroboros had cast illusion spells and were not exposed at this moment; West was merely bait to lure the werewolves.

Fenrir Greyback stared coldly at West, "You reckless wizard, daring to come to the werewolves' territory to die."

He roared to the sky, his voice so loud it shook the leaves of the surrounding trees, "Today, this will be your burial ground!"

"How boring. I'll leave it to you, Caspard." West, feeling utterly bored, yawned and stepped aside.

As the illusion spell was lifted, the Oroboros appeared like ghosts, forming a magical circle that trapped the wolf pack in the center.

Fenrir flew into a rage, enraged, "How dare you!"

Before he could finish speaking, Fenrir pounced on Wester with such speed that it caught everyone off guard.

Caspard drew his gun and fired without hesitation; the bullet struck Fenrir precisely in the thigh.

Fenrir knelt on the ground, staring at his bleeding thigh, his face filled with terror and fear of the unknown. He screamed in horror, "What kind of magic is this?!"

He didn't have time to launch a second attack.

Without hesitation, Caspard pulled the trigger, sending a silver-plated bullet imbued with a spell into Fenrir's head.

Graybuck's pupils dilated instantly, and his body crashed to the ground, his brains mixed with bone fragments splattering onto the earth.

West played with the intricately crafted pistol in his hand and remarked, "The wisdom of Muggles should not be underestimated."

No matter how strong a wizard is, his body is just as fragile as a Muggle's. If he is hit in a vital spot, he will not escape death.

This was a suppression of absolute strength.

As their companions fell one by one, lifeless, the remaining werewolves finally broke down, trembling as they prostrated themselves on the ground: "We surrender! Please spare our lives!"

Lupin's tense nerves, strained by the killing, suddenly relaxed. "Alright, if you're willing..."

He was quickly stunned, because he realized that the wizards present had no intention of stopping.

"Vest..." Lupin looked at Vest helplessly.

West smiled faintly at him. "Too late, Lupin. Dangerous beasts have no reason to exist."

As West finished speaking, the last few werewolves were killed.

The wizards of Oroboros quickly ventured deep into the cave and rescued several humans who had been abducted by werewolves, as well as werewolves who had taken a modified wolf venom potion.

They plan to later transfer these survivors to a safe place of residence to ensure they receive proper care and shelter.

At this point, the werewolf tribe completely submitted to the Order of the Phoenix and stood on the opposite side of the Dark Lord.
