Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 58 Relatives Make Things Easier

"Little sister, can I do it? Besides, I don't think it's that difficult. Will anyone even listen?"

"Just look at the attitude of those three people, and you'll know whether anyone is listening or not," Jiang Mingfeng remarked from the side.

Yu Meng's eyes darted around. "Big sister, let's peel off a piece of the stone pillar."

Dali's eyes lit up. "Shall we go now?"

Yu Meng nodded.

The three of them tidied up and left a note for Li Yiqing.

Upon arriving at the stone forest, Yu Meng placed her hand on a stone pillar. "Big sister, come and feel it. What does it feel like?"

"Every stone has its own artistic conception. You wrap lines around it and carefully feel it with your heart," Yu Meng demonstrated.

"Big sister, this is crucial information, don't spread it around."

"I know."

Dali closed her eyes, and Jiang Mingfeng watched from the side. He looked at his own hands, then placed them on the stone pillar as well, and closed his eyes.

Yu Meng found it amusing, but didn't say anything.

After a long while, Dali opened her eyes. "I think I can feel that it's about to die."

"Why does it feel so cold to me?" Jiang Mingfeng said, looking at Dali.

Dali glared at him. "Is the stone still warm?"

The two then arrived at another stone pillar. Dali repeated the process from before.

"Little sister, I think it's crying."

Jiang Mingfeng's eyes widened. This was too unbelievable! Stones can cry?

Yu Meng nodded. "This is what people often call artistic conception. When you can put these into a bead, it has a spirit and thus has a certain value."

Yu Meng kicked a stone at her feet. "Take a look at these again?"

Dali sat on the ground, holding a stone in her hands. "Little sister, it seems to like me holding it like this."

"Let's find a stone pillar, peel off a large one, and make a name for our eldest sister," Yu Meng said, walking ahead.

"I'll do whatever you say, little sister," Dali said, following behind.

"Brother-in-law, go over there and keep an eye on things for us. If anyone comes, let them know."

Jiang Mingfeng was already some distance away from them. He knew the rules and knew this was a secret technique, so he naturally wouldn't get close.

This was the first time Yu Meng had ever seen such a large stone pillar. She walked around it once, saying, "This thing also has a center point. This is my first time too, I don't know if it will work?"

"It's alright, there are so many stone pillars here, enough for us to practice on," Dali said optimistically.

Two people, four hands moving rhythmically on the stone pillar, "Little sister, it's done," Dali whispered happily.

Yu Meng nodded. "Call your brother-in-law over."

"Jiang Mingfeng!" Dali called out, and Jiang Mingfeng quickly turned around. "Come here quickly."

Jiang Mingfeng ran over, his mouth wide open, "You guys did it!"

"Come over here quickly and help. This one is for the eldest sister to demonstrate and set the tone." Yu Meng folded it up using a special technique.

Jiang Mingfeng carefully put the things away. "It wouldn't be good if my cousin found out."

"Little sister, your technique isn't quite there yet. How about we do another one?" Dali's eyes were fixed on Yu Meng. Her bright eyes held an eagerness.

"As long as you're not tired."

"I'm not tired. How can I be afraid of being tired when I'm learning new skills? I'll find one that's bigger than the one I just had." Dali was full of enthusiasm.

And so it went, one after another, until the fifth one, when Dali leaned against the stone pillar and looked at Yu Meng with a silly grin.

"I'm going to use them to trade for a house, so when we come back to the city, we'll have a place to stay and won't have to stay with other people," Dali said softly.

Yu Meng smiled and nodded, knowing that her older sister had noticed her slight unease.

"Let my cousin help us find someone. We're family, we know each other inside and out." Jiang Mingfeng looked at Dali. "The ones he finds will definitely be better than the ones we find ourselves."

Yu Meng admires Jiang Mingfeng; he naturally knows how to handle interpersonal relationships in the best way.

He put the five stone sheets into a box and handed it to Jiang Mingfeng, saying, "The house is in your hands."

Jiang Mingfeng's lips curled up. "I promise I'll get things done."

After finally dealing with Chu Jiao's matter, Li Yiqing returned to his tent, saw the note, and sighed.

The Chu family and the Li family had business dealings, and he also knew Chu Jiao; they were almost engaged in a marriage. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to his aunt's house to hide.

Chu Jiao is now even more unreasonable. Arrogant and domineering are the best words to describe her.

When Jiang Mingfeng and the other two returned, Li Yiqing was sitting on a rock, writing something.

Yu Meng waved her hand and carefully walked past him without disturbing Li Yiqing.

Seeing Yu Meng's expression, Dali followed suit. It wasn't until Jiang Mingfeng's turn that Li Yiqing looked up, "You're back. How was the harvest?"

Jiang Mingfeng placed the box he was carrying in front of Li Yiqing. "Cousin, can you do me a favor? My wife and younger sister are planning to buy a house in the city. You know this area best."

"Houses in the city aren't cheap, how come they can come up with so much money?" Li Yiqing raised an eyebrow.

Jiang Mingfeng patted the box. "Use this in exchange, see if it's enough?"

Li Yiqing smiled faintly, "Everything here belongs to the team."

"Of course we know that, we absolutely won't break the rules." Then he pointed to the box, "Not even a glance?"

Li Yiqing took the box, gently opened it, and then quickly closed it again. Her heart was pounding uncontrollably.

Five bluish-gray leather scrolls lay quietly in the box.

Jiang Mingfeng looked at him smugly, "How about that? Wasn't I a good brother?"

Then she took out another box, "This is the first one the two sisters have opened; they're going to use it as a demonstration in class."

"What class? Who's going to give the lecture?" Li Yiqing frowned.

"Dali will talk about how to peel back the stone's outer layer. You decide on the list of attendees to increase your visibility so that your work won't be embezzled." This time, Jiang Mingfeng's voice was very soft. "It's my sister's idea."

"Such advanced techniques, Yu Meng is willing to share them? And she doesn't even show her face?" Li Yiqing was quite puzzled.

Jiang Mingfeng chuckled, "Don't try to guess what Xiao Si is thinking. It's too tiring, and you might not even be right."

"You trust him a lot. Aren't you afraid he might betray you one day?"

"Cousin, Dali and I were tricked by her once at the beginning. But later I found out this girl isn't simple. She's very good to Dali." Jiang Mingfeng gestured with his chin towards the box. "This is what she taught Dali, a live demonstration."

Li Yiqing narrowed his eyes. "You can do this much after just being taught? Little cousin, you don't seem to be entirely honest."

"Why would I lie to you about something like this? I was just too far away to hear what she said clearly," Jiang Mingfeng said with a hint of regret.

"This is the skill of a mask revealer. Even if you knew it, would you be able to do it? Or do you want to write it down? Who knows who might get hold of it someday?" Li Yiqing's eyes were filled with blatant contempt.
