Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 517 Another Great Use of Lines

Once everyone had gone far away, the people inside the house finally relaxed.

"Hey, you with long hair, what's wrong with you? I couldn't stop you!"

The lame man's wheelchair returned to its original place.

The long-haired man was also full of doubts. "I know now that I was set up, but at the time, I really thought you were chatting with me."

Both of them fell silent. This was the primary battlefield; who had the ability to evade Yu Meng's people and come specifically to find them?

"Can't we stay here either?" the cripple said dejectedly. "We've already hidden here, and they still won't leave us alone?"

If Yu Meng heard this, she would know that these two people were hiding something from her.

"So it was Jing Er's arrival that startled the people in the shadows, which is why I didn't reveal more."

The lame man nodded. "That must be it. You're about to tell me your regrets; they can't be trivial, can they? But you suddenly became clear-headed, perhaps because the person in the shadows has left. But will he come back?"

"Could it be that in the decades we were gone, they cultivated another outstanding genius? Or perhaps a mind control type?" the long-haired man muttered to himself.

"Impossible. If they were that kind of talent, they wouldn't send anyone here. All of us combined aren't worth as much as they are," the cripple immediately denied.

"Tell me, if I hadn't come here tonight, would he have succeeded?" The long-haired man paused here, "No, there were two of us, and he still made a move. Doesn't that mean they were desperate?"

"Let's talk to Yu Meng about this tomorrow. Her people are still too incompetent. They didn't even know someone like that had infiltrated the area." The cripple pressed his brow, looking troubled.

Let's go back to Yu Meng and Niannian.

"Fourth Sister, he was about to speak, why did you leave?"

"Niannian, you should have some boundaries. It's fine to make harmless jokes, but why should we listen to other people's regrets? We can't make up for their regrets anyway."

"That's true. Fourth Sister, tell me how you did it, I want to learn too."

"Go back to sleep. I need to organize my thoughts and see how I can teach you."

"Okay, I'm off then. Remember to teach me first." Niannian skipped away.

Yu Meng wasn't asleep; her mind was racing. She felt like she had set a precedent.

The book says that drawing talismans requires paper, a special brush, and special ink.

But now she can make talismans with just a single line. Isn't that a bit too simple?

Yu Meng decided to strike while the iron was hot, and she took out the talisman book that the long-haired man had given her.

Following the above method, coil the lines, then complete the energy loop and find the nodes. Done!

Looking at the line drawing that was completed in just one minute, Yu Meng felt an urge to rush out and try it out herself.

Looking at the pitch-black night, the wild horse in my heart could no longer be restrained.

Her right eye darted around, and Yu Meng disappeared into the darkness.

After a while, a muffled thud came from afar. Yu Meng stood on the treetop, staring blankly at the large crater blasted out before her.

She never imagined that the use of lines, simply by changing her approach, would have such great power.

She suddenly wondered whether she should teach these things to the people in the sect.

The joy in her heart was replaced by melancholy, but Yu Meng was still happy. Even if she couldn't teach others, this could still be her deepest trump card.

And so, Yu Meng didn't sleep all night. When the lame man, the long-haired man, and Niannian came looking for her, Yu Meng wasn't in very good condition.

Her hair was disheveled, and large dark circles hung over her eyes. The table was a mess, with books, drawings, and other unidentifiable objects scattered haphazardly.

"Fourth Sister, you didn't sleep all night?" Niannian circled around her twice, asking with a curious look.

Yu Meng looked at the three people in front of her. "So early, is there something you need?"

The lame man hesitated for a moment, but finally said, "It's nothing."

The long-haired man nodded in agreement, "It's just a routine check-in, nothing serious."

"Fourth Sister, go get some sleep. You don't have to work so hard." Niannian pulled Yu Meng and pushed her into the bedroom.

"Then you can sit down, and don't touch anything on the table." Yu Meng was really tired.

Yu Meng went into the bedroom.

The three people outside, however, began to study the table.

"What is Yu Meng trying to research now? Isn't she learning how to draw talismans?" The long-haired man was the first to speak.

"Maybe she's just lacking ideas. Try doing something else to find inspiration," the cripple said, speaking up for Yu Meng.

"Stay up all night looking for inspiration?" the long-haired man retorted.

Niannian didn't hear anything important from them, and turned to leave.

"I'm going to see my third brother, do you want to come with me?"

"Together." The lame man hurriedly turned his wheelchair, intending to follow Nian Nian out the door.

The long-haired man glanced at the table again. "Wait, I'll go too."

Niannian stopped in her tracks. Could she say that she was just being polite and didn't actually want you to go?

"Let's go." The cripple seemed oblivious to Niannian's hesitation. "It's been several days already, I wonder how his recovery is going?"

"I think I saw a figure in the yard that day, I wonder if it was him?" The long-haired man walked past Niannian and went outside with the cripple.

Niannian's smile vanished. She followed behind the two seniors, inwardly blaming herself for being so talkative.

Jing San's courtyard was quiet. Several people stood at the entrance. "Is he still not awake?"

Niannian didn't go forward. This was Jing San's residence, and she, a girl, couldn't barge in.

"Sigh, no need to go in. This one's a night owl too, don't bother him." The cripple turned his wheelchair and walked back.

Niannian peeked out and then followed her away.

Inside the room, Jing San wasn't asleep; he was staring wide-eyed at the image on the communication bell.

In the darkness, the low hills seemed to have been cleaved by some sharp weapon, and a faint light shone from the night.

It was a very faint light, but it had a shape! It started as a line, then slowly bulged outwards from the middle, as if someone were tearing it apart with their hands. After a few breaths, a doorway appeared, big enough for a person to squeeze through.

Then, Jing San saw that person, not one, but three.

Most importantly, someone was waiting for them not far away.

Those who were waiting for them knelt down and bowed.

Jing San's palms were sweaty, and his back was soaked with sweat. Suddenly, Jing San's eyes narrowed; he felt as if he had been discovered.

A person made a throat-slitting gesture in his direction.

Although Jing San was very brave, he had never experienced anything like this before. But in that one glance, Jing San recognized that this person looked very much like the man who had broken his legs.
