Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 51 Yu Meng's First Mission

The group went upstairs and heard that Dali and Yu Meng were going on a mission with Li Yiqing. Xiu Jie felt envious.

She took out her notes and placed them in front of Dali. "These are the things I've learned from Grandma recently. There are still some parts I don't quite understand, could you help me take a look?"

Yu Meng always treated Xiu Jie differently; look at what she said.

It's not about teaching Dali what I've learned, but about letting Dali see the problem she doesn't understand. If her older sister knows the answer, she can teach her.

Dali didn't say anything, but instead pushed the notebook in front of Yu Meng. "My little sister knows more words than I do."

Yu Meng didn't refuse and took it to examine it carefully. With the family's legacy, every aspect was indeed much more detailed than what she had figured out on her own.

Niannian, the little rascal, sat there without saying a word, just looking at this older sister and then at that older sister.

Yu Meng closed the notebook and pushed it towards Sister Xiu. "It's very detailed."

Dali didn't stand on ceremony and took the notebook herself to look at it again.

"Hmm, this is a question I don't understand either." Dali pressed the question with her finger and pushed it in front of Yu Meng.

Yu Meng glanced at Niannian, and Xiu Jie immediately understood. "She's just as pitiful as I am. Her parents are away from home most of the time, and she has no one to take care of her."

"Then you must tell her not to tell anyone about this," Dali instructed.

Yu Meng released the two lines from her mind. Right before their eyes, she tied a knot and looped it around a water glass on the table. She then tied the other end above the glass. The glass was then lifted into the air, swaying gently.

Niannian's little mouth was wide open; this fourth sister is amazing.

Sister Xiu glanced at her.

"I swear, I promise I won't tell anyone. But you have to teach me this. I want to learn too!"

"No problem, I'll teach you once I've learned it. You're still too young, and your brain doesn't have enough lines yet," Sister Xiu said softly.

Dali and Xiujie were eager to try it out. They both wanted to give it a shot. Yumeng gestured for them to use a lighter object first.

"I have a bead here, do you think it will work?" Niannian took out the bead she had made.

And so, the four girls stayed in their room all morning without going downstairs.

Grandma Zhao asked people not to disturb them and instructed that lunch be prepared.

Dali and Yu Meng did not refuse the lunch. At the table, Dali and Sister Xiu were both excited, and even Xiao Niannian looked at Yu Meng with admiration.

"You're Sister Xiu's sisters, so feel right at home here. Make yourselves at home, and don't hesitate to tell this old woman if you need anything," Grandma Zhao said with a smile as she served food to Dali and Yu Meng. "Stay here tonight, and tomorrow when you go out, Sister Xiu will take you around town."

"Grandma, my eldest sister and younger sister are in the city on a mission. Someone will be here to pick them up soon," Sister Xiu explained softly from the side.

Grandma Zhao looked at Sister Xiu with a puzzled expression. "On a mission?"

"It's a task from my cousin Li; he invited my younger sister and me," Dali explained from the side. "It's also a good opportunity to bring some things Mom made, all of which are Sister Xiu's favorites."

"You're leaving soon? Then think about what you might need. I'll have someone prepare it right now," Grandma Zhao said, hurriedly putting down her chopsticks.

"Grandma Zhao, no need, everything is already prepared by my cousin. Seeing that Sister Xiu is doing well here, I know that Grandma Zhao must be a good grandmother." Dali got up, pulled Grandma Zhao back to her chair, and sat down again.

"Grandma, please sit down. Sister Dali has been with the Cai Group for three years now, she'll take care of everything that needs to be prepared." Sister Xiu also stood up and pulled her grandmother to sit down.

"When you come back from your mission, you must come and see Sister Xiu so she knows you've returned safely."

"Of course," Dali readily agreed.

Li Yiqing came to pick them up in his car. Sister Xiu watched enviously as they got into the car and drove away.

In the car, Li Yiqing handed a stack of documents to Yu Meng. "Take a look, this is the place we're going to this time. It shows the terrain, landforms, and possible flora and fauna."

"What is our mission? There must be a specific goal," Yu Meng asked in a deep voice.

"The terrain here is quite complex, so there are a total of 10 mining groups going there. Our area is about 10 kilometers away," Li Yiqing explained as he drove.

"Our task is to collect everything that can be peeled off this place."

"There are no restrictions," Yu Meng asked.

"Of course, the more valuable the better. In the final settlement, we'll receive rewards based on the value of the product."

"If there are any small items that I like, can I keep some of them?" Yu Meng asked another question.

"Yes, but it can't exceed one-quarter of that thing."

Yu Meng nodded and said nothing more.

Upon arriving at the meeting point, they discovered it was a large airport. Dali nervously clung to Yu Meng. She had never been on a plane before.

Noticing Dali's nervousness, Jiang Mingfeng said from the side, "It's okay. When you sit down, if you're scared, just cover your eyes. If that doesn't work, you can lean against me."

Dali angrily stomped on Jiang Mingfeng's foot.

This fool, shouldn't he have said this quietly to Dali alone? Saying it in public like this makes his older sister so embarrassed.

Jiang Mingfeng stomped his feet and spun around, staring blankly at Dali and laughing.

Yu Meng pulled her older sister a few steps forward, to keep her away from this idiot.

Dali looked at Yu Mengxiao helplessly. "Is he a little silly? Don't laugh at him."

Yu Meng shook her head. "He's truly sincere towards my older sister. He'd be a suitable brother-in-law."

Dali's face flushed slightly. "I'll listen to my little sister."

A few more people were led over by Li Yiqing. "Our group has a total of 10 members. Now that everyone is here, please introduce yourselves."

There were three other mask-revealing experts in the crowd, who looked Dali and Yu Meng up and down.

"Brother Li, is this the person you hired at such a high price? And there's a child with him?"

"Her name is Yu Meng, and I'll be with her." Li Yiqing didn't explain, only stating the result. "You guys form your own teams. We're here with a mission, and you're all talented individuals recommended to me by my family. I hope this collaboration will lead to future opportunities for cooperation." His cool voice declared his decision.

The meaning is clear: just focus on your own group. Other people's results are irrelevant to you. If you get along well this time, there will be opportunities to collaborate next time.

With a single sentence, he silenced everyone. Yu Meng looked at him and gave him a thumbs up. A one-man show—that's probably what they mean by someone like him.
