Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 500 The number of aliens has decreased.

The memories are unlocked, and Yu Meng is transported back to the time when she and her brother were catching fish.

At that time, she was sitting on a large rock on the shore when she accidentally peeled off its crust, and then pressed it back down.

She complained that it was too cold, but it suddenly became hot, and at the time she thought the stone had come to life. Now it seems that it wasn't a stone coming to life at all; it was something she didn't even know existed.

But that doesn't make sense. The cripple said that the existence of these aliens can only support one alien mother.

She patted the sitting egg, then thought about the stones by the river. Could she have guessed wrong?

But why do I want to look it up?

With Yu Meng's positioning in mind, Jingyi and her team arrived quickly.

Yu Meng beckoned someone over, "Move this thing to my courtyard, be careful not to break it."

"Teacher Yu, what is this?"

"An automatically heated chair, it's very comfortable to sit in." Yu Meng gave the egg a name.

Ten people carried the egg away. Jingyi followed behind Yu Meng, "Teacher Yu, I haven't seen any aliens along the way. Did they move?"

Yu Meng looked around and said, "Jingyi, do you think if there were no more aliens on this battlefield, we wouldn't have to work so hard?"

Jing shook her head. "How could they not exist? It's been so many years. They've only decreased, not disappeared."

"Can't it be destroyed?" Yu Meng didn't expect Jingyi to know this.

"During my grandfather's time, there was a period when there were very few Xenomorphs, and the Xenomorph battlefield was practically extinct."

"Why didn't I see this part?"

Jingyi smiled bitterly, "This is a tragedy, how could it be recorded? The reason I know about it is because my grandfather experienced it firsthand."

Tell me about it.

"At that time, there were no more aliens in the Alien Battlefield. You've seen how much land there is in the Alien Battlefield. Soon, someone set their sights on this place."

Jingyi lowered her head, looking at the ground beneath her feet, "They built factories here, constructed houses, and began to live normal lives."

Yu Meng didn't interrupt; she knew Jingyi hadn't finished speaking.

"Maybe a few years, maybe a decade or more, the aliens seemed to appear overnight." Jingyi's voice was very low.

"Everyone was immersed in happiness; they were finally free from the suffering of their elders. But disaster struck overnight."

Jingyi's eyes were red. "My grandfather's relatives almost all died overnight."

He stepped on the withered grass on the ground. "Teacher Yu, do you know that every inch of land in this battlefield is buried with bones?"

Yu Meng shivered from the cold. "Jingyi, I'm timid. Please don't scare me."

"He wasn't lying. Grandpa said that no one survived on the battlefield." Jingyi said earnestly, "My grandfather was a man of status back then. Otherwise, he wouldn't have known these things."

The two walked in silence, but Yu Meng's heart was far from calm. She had a bold guess.

Is it possible that this world is not the first to conceive an alien mother?

The world's civilization was nearly wiped out by the aliens. But humanity's resilience was too great, and they recovered.

Yu Meng felt that she had been hurt these past two days and she needed to go home to recuperate.

After not hearing Yu Meng speak for a while, Jingyi belatedly realized that he seemed to have really frightened Teacher Yu.

Jingyi was somewhat annoyed; why couldn't he control his mouth?

She placed the egg-shaped stone in the yard. Yu Meng then invited the lame man and the long-haired man to come and see her new treasure.

The long-haired man arrived quickly and was very attentive to everything in the alien battlefield.

Upon entering, I saw Yu Meng standing in the courtyard. She gestured with her eyes, "Where's the baby?"

Yu Meng pointed to the large egg on the ground, "It was just brought back."

The long-haired man paused for a moment, but still walked closer, examined it carefully, and then shook his head. "Just a pretty stone, what's so precious about it?"

Yu Meng blinked. "Not a baby?" Her questioning tone seemed to say, "You didn't even know that?"

The lame man pushed his wheelchair into the courtyard. "Where?"

The long-haired man pointed to the ground, but Yu Meng remained silent.

"Knowing it's a treasure, why keep it in the yard? Aren't you afraid someone will covet it?" The cripple didn't deny it outright.

Yu Meng then smiled, "We're not sure until you give us a definite answer."

The lame man circled the stone once, but he couldn't see anything special about it; it was just a pretty stone!

He circled around again without saying a word.

Seeing his serious expression, the long-haired man couldn't help but ask, "Is there really something to it?"

"You with long hair, tell me, can there be such brand-new stones on the battlefield now? They have neither the smell of being buried in soil nor the marks of time."

Yu Meng nodded secretly. The cripple was meticulous and didn't directly deny it, but instead raised a question. The long-haired man, however, was the more astute; he simply asked, "What treasure is it?"

He's waiting for you to speak.

But can Yu Meng say it? Does she dare to say something like that?

Yu Meng's face fell. "I had Jingyi specially bring this back for me, and it's really worthless?"

The long-haired man glanced at her. "What made you think it was a good thing?"

Yu Meng said innocently, "When I sat on it, it was warm and very comfortable."

The two of them were stunned at the same time. "That's the reason?"

Yu Meng nodded.

"Oh, you. Come on, let's go inside and talk." The lame man said, and took the lead into the house.

"What's wrong? Did something happen again?" the long-haired man asked from behind.

After sitting down inside, he said, "Well, it's not a big deal, I expected it."

Yu Meng poured water for the two of them, saying, "I just got back, and there's no hot water in the house. I apologize for not being hospitable enough."

"Speak, what is it?" The long-haired man didn't seem to mind.

"The Jing family's alien mother is completely dead. A certain force took its anger out on those bone painters and went a bit too far."

Yu Meng asked, puzzled, "What does this have to do with them?"

"If it's not good quality food, it should be disposed of," the cripple said calmly, and the long-haired man didn't react either. Only Yu Meng felt a dull ache in her heart, a feeling she couldn't quite describe.

"Yu Meng, yesterday's alien riot here might be related to this. You need to tell your men to be careful," the long-haired man warned.

"What else could happen?" Yu Meng asked, puzzled. Yesterday's events had mysteriously vanished. "I searched the deeper parts, but I didn't find a single trace."

"Something's definitely up to no good!" the lame man remarked.

The long-haired man closed his eyes, and it was impossible to tell what he was thinking.

Yu Meng glanced at the cripple, who shook his head and took a sip of plain water.

None of the three spoke.

Yu Meng's communication bell vibrated, and Nian Nian's voice came through, "Fourth Sister, is it convenient for you to talk over there?"

Yu Meng glanced at the two of them, then lowered her head and typed three words on the communication ring: "What is it?"

"Something ghostly." Niannian also translated it into text.

"Speak properly."

"Fourth Sister, the number of aliens is decreasing; we can all feel it. Do you know what's wrong?"

"It's good that the aliens are gone. I'm planning to go home for a visit. What about you?"

"Huh? Are you really okay?"

"Of course I'll go too! When are we leaving? I want to go shopping, I want to buy lots and lots of things." Yu Meng could feel Niannian's excitement even from here.
