Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 429 Mr. Feng

Yu Meng had no idea how busy Secretary Wu and Nangong Tianshou were at Jingchuan Club.

Three days later, Nangong Tianshou arrived at the fourth battlefield with one person.

At first glance, he was a tall, thin man. His age was hard to guess, but his eyes were very distinctive. His pupils were dark, like two whirlpools.

Nangong Tianshou introduced him, saying that this was Mr. Feng.

Yu Meng sat in the main seat inside the tent. Jing Ancheng, Jing San, and Hua Shulang did not enter the tent; they wandered around it casually.

Niannian casually found a seat; she didn't sit next to Yu Meng.

Nangong Tianshou spoke up, "This Mr. Feng is willing to be our negotiator, but he has one condition."

Yu Meng smiled and nodded, "My matter isn't complicated, I just need someone with keen insight and flexibility to fight for our best interests."

The man named Mr. Feng sat down opposite Yu Meng.

"I owe Brother Nangong a favor, which is why I've come." He explained his reason for being there in a concise and clear manner.

"Very good, I hope we can have a pleasant collaboration." At this moment, Yu Meng was completely different from her usual lazy self.

Mr. Feng's lips curled into a smile. "Before I do this, I have a small request."

Yu Meng did not answer him, but looked at Nangong Tianshou instead.

Nangong Tianshou nodded. "I did promise him a request before he came. He has a close friend whose situation is similar to Jin Yan's. He wants Teacher Yu to take a look at him."

Yu Meng turned to look at Mr. Feng. "I'll take a look. But I can't guarantee whether it can be resolved."

Mr. Feng did not speak, but simply nodded silently.

Mr. Feng walked to the tent entrance and made a gesture in a certain direction.

In a short while, several people carried a glass cabinet that looked like it contained aliens to Yu Meng.

Yu Meng's right eye twitched, and she looked over in surprise.

There was indeed a person inside. Only, they were extremely thin, and their face was no longer the normal rosy, radiant color of a person; instead, it was a dark purple, as if they had been poisoned.

Yu Meng asked softly, "How long has this been going on?"

"It's been three years." Mr. Feng placed his hand on the glass cabinet and gently stroked it.

"How did you protect his heart and keep him alive?"

Yu Meng's words seemed to startle Mr. Feng, and his dark eyes swirled like vortexes.

"You can tell just by looking at it?" Mr. Feng's voice was low and hoarse.

Yu Meng chuckled softly. "You didn't just let me take a look, this is what I saw."

Mr. Feng remained silent. Nangong Tianshou stepped forward. "Brother Feng, would you like to try to save him?"

Unexpectedly, Mr. Feng shook his head. "Given his condition, is there any point in continuing treatment?"

Nangong Tianshou stopped speaking. He didn't understand these things, so he couldn't make any promises for anyone.

Yu Meng looked at the person in the glass case. She asked a question that surprised everyone: "Is he your family member or your enemy?"

Mr. Feng, "Is there any difference?"

"A little. Would Mr. Feng like to hear it?"

This is the first time Yu Meng has taken the initiative to care about something, and it is also the first time Yu Meng has taken the initiative to do something.

The group returned to the tent and sat down at the table.

"Given this person's current condition, Mr. Feng must have spent a great deal of money and resources. You don't want him to die, but you haven't allowed him to live a peaceful and comfortable life either. Do you want this situation to continue?"

Yu Meng spoke very frankly. It was as if she already knew about this person's relationship with Mr. Feng.

"How much longer can he live?" Mr. Feng's face was expressionless; he simply asked a very practical question.

Yu Meng smiled confidently, "He can live a long time if I want him to."

"What's the purpose?"

"I've heard about your deeds from Uncle Nangong."

"So what?"

"This battlefield now belongs to me," Yu Meng said with a smile.

"What does this have to do with me?" Mr. Feng's expression remained unchanged, as if he were asking a completely different question than Yu Meng.

"It's somewhat related, it all depends on Mr. Feng's opinion."

At this moment, Nangong Tianshou felt old; he seemed to have completely failed to understand what the two people were saying.

After a long while, Mr. Feng finally spoke. "I want him to live as long as I do."

"No problem. But you have to agree to my request too."

"A fourth battlefield?"

"Yes, the fourth front."

A smile appeared in Mr. Feng's eyes. "As long as I live."

Yu Meng smiled this time. "Okay, then let's have a pleasant collaboration."

Nian Nian remained silent throughout, and Nangong Tian Shou also felt like an outsider.

Mr. Feng looked at Yu Meng with a deep, unsettling gaze. "You've got some nerve?"

Yu Meng pointed to her eyes, "I'm very good at judging people."

"I never expected that at my age, I would meet someone as interesting as you."

Yu Meng smiled. "Would you like him to live with you?"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Feng's expression finally changed, but ultimately returned to calm. He didn't speak, only shook his head, and then walked out.

Yu Meng did not go out. Nangong Tianshou took her to rest and then returned.

"Yu Meng, what does he mean? I feel like he promised you something?" Nangong Tianshou didn't mince words with Yu Meng and directly asked the question that was on his mind.

Niannian also looked at Yu Meng, "Fourth Sister, that person's eyes are so sharp, I don't dare to look at them."

Yu Meng poured a cup of tea and pushed it towards Nangong Tianshou, saying, "He agreed to help me manage the Fourth Battlefield."

"What? How come I didn't know?" Niannian exclaimed in surprise.

"I didn't explain it very clearly, but I let that person live, and he's in charge of the Fourth Front."

Nangong Tianshou breathed a sigh of relief. "You really dared to use him."

"Uncle Nangong, the fourth battlefield was an accident. We'll keep the profits, and we won't suffer any losses if we don't. But you, after all this, how are you feeling? Why don't you go and rest for a bit?"

"Hey, what am I doing? I'm just walking around." Nangong Tianshou couldn't rest. He had many questions for Yu Meng, but for a moment, he didn't know where to start.

"On the surface, he's in charge, but there's also someone from Jingchuan who keeps in touch with him. You have a relationship with this Mr. Feng, why don't you come over?" Yu Meng asked tentatively.

Nangong Tianshou's expression was complicated. "This is a battlefield. Do you know how much profit is involved here?"

Yu Meng rolled her eyes. "If you're afraid of getting tired, just say so. There are only a few of us, and no one is free."

Nangong Tianshou slammed his teacup down on the table. "Is that what I meant? Aren't you afraid I have ulterior motives and might be doing the Zhou family a favor?"

Yu Meng snorted, "Whoever I put in charge will have to make things convenient for their own family or close associates, so I might as well give it to you."

Nangong Tianshou laughed in exasperation, "So I'm the most helpless one after all. You're just annoyed that I'm freeloading."

"I'm just worried about tiring you out, old man. It's so much easier in Jingchuan, but here it's very stressful. I'm afraid your nephew will come after me." Yu Meng said, half-truthfully.
