Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 425 Cousin Han

Yu Meng didn't think much of her wearing a black robe to cover her face. Anyone would be unhappy if their features were flawed, and it was understandable that she didn't want people to see her true face. After all, it was truly embarrassing.

Therefore, Yu Meng was also very direct. "Can you show me your lines?" she asked in a question.

A gentle and kind voice came from outside. "I hope you can keep this a secret."

Niannian pouted again. "They've covered it up so much, what else can we do but keep it a secret?"

Yu Meng stopped looking at her and turned to Teacher Feng instead.

Teacher Feng immediately said, "Don't worry, cousin, she won't tell anyone."

Cousin Han paused for a moment. "That's not what I meant. I'm afraid that if she finds out about me, it will put her in danger."

Teacher Feng said with even greater certainty, "No. Although we know each other's surnames, we're both wearing masks."

Cousin Han sighed softly. "We don't judge people by their appearance."

Yu Meng was surprised. What had happened to make her so cautious?

Therefore, Yu Meng tested the waters and adjusted her breathing slightly.

As expected, this Korean cousin was very perceptive; she turned her head towards Yu Meng's direction.

Yu Meng didn't say anything, she just nodded.

The four people sat down around a table.

My cousin Han showed off her figure.

Startled, Niannian stood up abruptly, causing the chair to slide backward and overturn to the ground.

Her trembling hand pointed to the line. "Fourth Sister, it's the same as that big net."

Yu Meng reached out and grabbed her hand. "It's okay, I'm here." But she unconsciously tightened her grip on her hand.

Niannian realized she had lost her composure and quickly lowered her head, concealing the excitement in her eyes.

My cousin Han's gentle voice rang out. "Did I scare you?"

Niannian stopped talking and just shook her head.

Yu Meng looked at the lines floating in the air. They were of uniform thickness and had a shiny color; by all accounts, they didn't seem to be faulty.

Yu Meng hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Teacher Han, are all your lines like this?"

"No, these are the lines I think are faulty."

"How many lines like that do you have?"

"At least 10," Han's cousin said in a low voice.

Yu Meng tapped the table. "Here's what I'm saying. I've seen lines like this once before. There's something in those lines that's called a celestial pet."

Yu Meng paused for a moment and looked at her cousin Han.

"I don't know what it is, I only know it's sick."

Yu Meng nodded and continued, "My treatment is simple; it requires absorbing a large portion of the energy within your lines. Can you accept that?"

"It's possible. But I've tried it, and even if the energy in the lines is exhausted, that thing won't come out." Cousin Han was simply stating a fact; clearly, she had tried this method.

Yu Meng didn't press the issue, but instead asked tactfully, "Do you still want me to try?"

Cousin Han didn't answer, but turned to look at Teacher Feng. "Cousin, what did you say?"

Teacher Feng grabbed Han's sleeve. "Cousin, I believe them. Give it a try; at worst, it'll just be a minor issue. You can't go on like this for long."

"Okay, then I'll listen to my cousin." Cousin Han nodded to Meng.

Yu Meng smiled and patted Niannian, "You take care of this."

Niannian took out her little gray straw, but did not act immediately. Instead, she looked at her cousin Han.

"I did it?"

"Um."

All four of them focused their attention on the line in the air.

This was the first time that Teacher Feng had witnessed the terrifying power of the little gray straw.

Suddenly, countless tentacles extended from one end of the little gray straw, firmly fixing the line to the bottom of the straw.

Visibly, the lines gradually thinned, and the brightness dimmed. When it finally fell onto the table, there was a very noticeable small bulge in the lines; it was moving.

Cousin Han placed her hands on the table, her head almost touching the lines. She stared intently at her own lines, at the small bulges that rose and fell as if breathing.

"There really is something, there really is something," she murmured to herself.

After a long while, she composed herself and looked at Yu Meng again. "Can it be removed?"

Yu Meng raised an eyebrow and spoke softly, "Of course."

Cousin Han covered her mouth. Suppressed sobs escaped from beneath her robes.

Teacher Feng placed her hand on her back and gently stroked it. "Don't cry. From now on, you'll be alright."

Yu Meng rummaged through her small backpack.

She took out a very special line. This line contained the victors from the battles between the immortal pets she had taken from other people's lines so many times.

Teacher Feng and her cousin Han exclaimed in surprise when they saw the line. "How come you have one too?"

"Oh, it's not mine, it's just stored here with me."

She placed the two lines side by side on the table. The little gray straw thoughtfully stepped forward and poked a small hole in both lines.

"What are you doing now?" Cousin Han asked softly.

"Catch the fairy pet," Yu Meng said with a smile.

"How do we catch it?"

"I don't need to lift a finger, I can just watch."

The fairy pet crawled out of the small hole in Yu Meng's lines. It quickly entered Han's lines, and then the bulges and curves on the lines became more pronounced. A few minutes later, the fairy pet crawled out and returned to Yu Meng's lines, where it remained motionless.

"It's that simple."

Yu Meng secretly rolled her eyes. Simple? That's only true in my hands. Try it in yours, and you'll be in for a world of trouble.

Yu Meng pushed Han's cousin's figure in front of her. "Alright, you can take it back and keep it."

Cousin Han put that line back into her mind.

Niannian's gaze kept sweeping over her cousin Han. Wasn't there supposed to be as many as 10? Why hasn't the next one been released yet? Did she learn how to handle it herself when she got back?

Yu Meng didn't press further; she waited quietly.

A while later, Cousin Han released many lines, which floated in the air.

"This is all the lines I have." She took off her hood.

Looking over, Yu Meng saw a beautiful woman nearing forty, with radiant skin and gentle, expressive eyes. She was not wearing a mask.

"Didn't you say you wouldn't let us see your face? Why did you take it off again?" Niannian exclaimed in surprise.

"Of course, it's because you really can cure this condition."

"What's the difference?"

Cousin Han smiled and said, "There are many people like me, and they are all suffering. We even started our own relief organization."

Yu Meng looked at the teacup on the table without saying a word.

Niannian's eyes widened. "You're not suggesting I have my sister treat them too, are you?! Let me tell you, that's absolutely impossible. My sister and I have important things to do; we don't have that much time."

Cousin Han quickly waved her hand. "Don't worry, listen to me."

"What did you say?" Niannian asked angrily.

"Of course, we'll say whatever you need," Han's cousin replied smoothly.

"We need so many things, can you discuss them all?" Niannian asked again.

Yu Meng sighed inwardly. Wasn't this just handing over the initiative?
