A month passed peacefully like this.

That day, Secretary Wu finally couldn't sit still any longer.

He went to Yu Meng's room, where the sign indicating seclusion was still hanging on the door.

The curtains on the window were drawn tightly, obscuring the view inside. But something just felt off.

Niannian blinked. "Fourth Sister is fine, she's just not in the house."

Secretary Wu released his grip and patted Nian Nian's shoulder. "Uncle Wu got a little excited, did I scare you?"

Niannian shook her head. "When Fourth Sister left, she said that if you wander around here for three days in a row, she would let me tell you the truth."

Secretary Wu slowly calmed her heart, which was pounding in her throat.

"Then tell me, where did Teacher Yu go?"

"They've gone to the front lines."

"The first battlefield?" Secretary Wu frowned. "What could possibly be there that warrants her going there personally?"

So she muttered softly, "The dense forest!"

"Didn't they already run away?" Secretary Wu was genuinely confused this time.

"Fourth Sister said that although the forest has been cleared, there might still be some secrets hidden under that patch of grass."

"What secret?"

Niannian rolled her eyes at him. "How would I know? Fourth Sister didn't tell me."

Secretary Wu had now regained his senses. "Wait a minute, since you knew about this, why didn't you go with them?"

Niannian looked at Secretary Wu with some resentment, "I wanted to go, but Fourth Sister said someone needs to cover for me in this room."

"Covering the way? Who is Teacher Yu planning to hide it from?"

"Anyway, it's not you." Nian Nian leaned against the wall, kicking the dirt on the ground with her feet.

"Then what should I do?" Secretary Wu noticed Nian Nian's slight mood.

"My fourth sister said that even if you find out, you don't need to do anything, just act normally."

After Secretary Wu left, Niannian opened the door and went inside.

When Yu Meng concealed herself and entered the first battlefield, it was very different from before. There was no clamor of voices; the tents that hadn't been packed up were still there, but the noise and cursing were gone.
