Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 314 addresses the fundamental problem.

Jing Er stood there, grinning foolishly. He had won; he was still the senior disciple. Permanently! And there was a reward!

The members of Jing Er's group were all excited. They jumped up, ran to Jing Er, and carefully helped him to the chair next to him. "Senior Brother, please sit down."

"Senior Brother, let me massage your shoulders."

Yu Er sat there and gave him a thumbs up, "It has to be you, Senior Brother."

Yu Meng and Niannian left their rewards and departed.

……

Qian Chuan sat in the lab, Yu Meng's message still displayed on the intercom: "Check if there are any foreign objects in their lines. If there are, detain them; I have questions for them."

Qingyuan walked in and saw Qian Chuan standing there in a daze. "What's wrong?"

"It's alright. Teacher Yu sent over a few people who said the lines looked abnormal. Aunt Qing, could you stay and take a look for me? I'm really not good at these things." Qian Chuan's eyes were pleading.

"Hey, I thought it was something serious. I'll handle this. You've only had lines for a few days, it's not normal." Qingyuan nodded readily.

Qian Chuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't know why Teacher Yu had sought him out for this, but he felt uneasy.

Qingyuan's exhilaration put his mind at ease.

Several unconscious people were brought over, and Qingyuan skillfully pulled out the lines from their brains. "Qian Chuan, you really need to practice this. Look at Liu Wei, he was born on the same day as you, and he can already fight Jingyi and the others. Pulling out lines like this is the most basic thing."

Qian Chuan smiled wryly, "Aunt Qing, I know all this, but I just can't do it. Let me get used to it a little longer."

"Qian Chuan, I don't know what happened to you in the Alien Battlefield. As for me, I don't care what you think. As long as you have the Guild Hall in your heart, I will protect you. I watched you grow up. Although your temper has changed, Aunt Qing knows you are a good child, and that's enough."

"Thank you, Aunt Qing. It's so good to have you." Qian Chuan concealed the look in his eyes. "I will try my best."

"That's right. If you don't know how, go and learn. If you don't understand something, just ask me. I'll teach you anything I know, as long as you want to learn."

"Then, Aunt Qing, how should we handle these lines?"

Qingyuan straightened up. "To be honest, I've spent half my life studying aliens, but I've never studied the lines of the human body. If it weren't for the problem with the lines drawn by the Jia family's bone painter, I would never have thought that the lines would have a problem."

"So where should we start?"

"Just follow the procedure set by the Jia family's bone-drawing masters. Oh, by the way, did Teacher Yu say what to do with these people?"

Qian Chuan nodded. "Teacher Yu said that if there are any problems with the lines, the person will be detained."

"Did you specify what the problem is?" Qingyuan looked at the lines in her hand, her eyes narrowing. "Tell Teacher Yu right now that the lines in their minds aren't alien lines at all."

"Huh?" Qian Chuan laid out his own lines and compared them, but couldn't see any difference.

Qian Chuan took out his communication ringtone and sent a message to Yu Meng.

Yu Meng replied quickly: I'll be there soon.

After putting away the communication bell, Qian Chuan's eyes were fixed on those few lines again.

"Aunt Qing, how is it different?"

Qingyuan didn't look up. "First, the colors are different."

"But our colors are different too!" Qian Chuan seemed slow to notice.

Qingyuan placed her lines on the table, Qianchuan's on the other side, and the lines of the other people in the middle.

"Take another look," Qingyuan said gently, her voice low.

Qian Chuan almost lay on the table before hesitantly saying, "It seems to resemble Aunt Qing's features."

"Hmm, they look similar on the surface, but their colors are uneven, and they look weak, like they've never trained and are just being nurtured."

Qian Chuan recalled a saying: "Flowers in a greenhouse."

"Yes, they've never been trained. When I pulled them out, they offered absolutely no resistance."

Qingyuan stopped abruptly. How could someone like that have gotten into the backyard? The people in the backyard are all from the sect, and they don't have this kind of appearance.

Qian Chuan looked at Qing Yuan, puzzled. "Aunt Qing, what's wrong?"

Qingyuan put away her lines. "Something terrible has happened. Teacher Yu isn't home, and we've allowed someone to slip through our fingers. These people are spies from another organization."

Qian Chuan stared blankly at Qing Yuan, "How could this be?"

"Why not? Everyone in the backyard has a similar build to you." Qingyuan sat there with a worried look on her face. "I'm really getting old. I can't even take care of the house anymore."

Qian Chuan stood there, unsure how to comfort the old man.

Yu Meng came with Niannian.

"Aunt Qing, you're here too," Yu Meng greeted.

"Alas, Aunt Qing is old and useless. She can't even keep an eye on the house, and others have taken advantage of her." Qingyuan said with a face full of guilt.

Yu Meng didn't speak, but looked directly at the lines of the table.

"With so many people, you still managed to check on each one individually." Yu Meng didn't comfort Qing Yuan, but simply stated a fact.

Niannian listened to Qingyuan's words, not quite understanding what she meant. "Aunt Qing, are there bad guys again? Where are they? I'll go catch them."

Qingyuan pointed to the people on the ground, "They were sent from the backyard, but they're not from the backyard at all."

"Hey, aren't these the same guys who were taken down in one move just now?"

Yu Meng's overlord tentacles tapped those lines a few times before disdainfully retracting into Yu Meng's backpack.

Qingyuan understood. "Is it showing disdain?"

Yu Meng smiled. "It's a bit picky about food now."

Qingyuan was stunned for a moment, then suddenly looked at Yumeng, "You, you have a little black cat."

"This trip will fulfill its purpose." Yu Meng said it subtly, but Qingyuan understood.

Tears fell without warning. "Yu Meng, you're so good."

"It was supposed to be a good thing, but it still attracted this." Yu Meng pointed to the people on the ground.

Qingyuan wiped away her tears. "It's alright. I'll go to the backyard and investigate myself."

"Aunt Qing, are there bad guys in the backyard? I'll go too." Niannian realized what was going on.

"No need. Just keep an eye on things. I need to find the root of the problem and solve it completely."

"Okay, whatever you say."

Yu Meng placed a slender-necked white porcelain bottle on the table and looked at Qian Chuan. "This is a special kind of medicine. The lines on the table are from this medicine. The highest level it can reach is my current level. It's terrifying. I need you to research its ingredients and proportions."

Qian Chuan picked it up but didn't open the bottle. "I'll do my best!"

"What about these lines?" Qingyuan pointed to the table.

"Put it back and mark it."

Qian Chuan blinked. "Can it be put back?"

The person on the ground only twitched a few times before Nian Nian stuffed the thread back in.

Qian Chuan hesitated before speaking, "Aren't the lines absorbed by the body? Can't we just stuff them in?"

"Others can't do it, but I have a special method." Niannian said proudly.

"Can I learn it?"

Niannian looked him up and down, then said a single word before shaking her head, "You—I can't learn it!"
