Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 298 Was I scammed?

Everyone nodded. It was a bit of an exaggeration.

Jing Ancheng shook his head. "It's not an exaggeration."

"I thought it was just a legend that someone actually advanced to become a Saint Master," Yu Meng asked nervously.

"There is indeed one in the records, with a name and surname, and it is said that some of his clansmen survived."

"I don't recall hearing about the Jing family these days?"

"Indeed, there isn't any. Right now, we only have the Jing family's guards," Jing Ancheng explained.

"Yes, your family's rules are quite unique, aren't they? Can I know how many guard teams like yours are there?" Yu Meng asked curiously.

"There are ten groups, but they all have a bone-drawing master who follows them. My group left the training base a year ago."

She already knew the reasons for choosing Yu Meng, and didn't want to dwell on the matter any longer.

Yu Meng asked herself the question she cared about, "Where is that holy teacher?"

Jing Ancheng shook his head. Some said she was dead, others said she went into seclusion. In short, no one ever saw her again.

"Does the record mention the Holy Master's lifespan?"

"They only said that we've reached a new level, but they didn't provide specific figures."

"Is there any news about the force that is opposing the Jing family?" Jing San was more concerned about this.

"In that battle, the Jing family suffered heavy losses. All those above the rank of Bone Painter were killed or went missing, and seven or eight out of ten of their warriors were also lost." Jing Ancheng's voice was very low.

After a long pause, he continued, "After the incident, that mysterious force disappeared, but most of them committed suicide; very few actually died fighting back."

"According to your current statement, does that mean this force has resurfaced and is now targeting Teacher Yu?"

"This is just my guess; there's no evidence."

Yu Meng paused for a moment and asked, "Have you heard of the Yan Dian organization?"

Zhang Zhen chimed in, "I've heard of them. They're said to be a group of madmen who'll stop at nothing to achieve their goals."

"Do you have their exact locations?"

Everyone looked at Yu Meng. "You suspect it's them?"

"Let someone investigate first; I only have a suspicion."

Afterwards, everyone dispersed, and they could rest for a while before dawn.

The next morning, Yu Meng decided to conceal her movements and walk less conspicuously. The first wave of the operation had failed, but there would be a second, and a third wave.

Everyone had no objections, but where to go?

Yu Meng took out a map and said a name: Fucheng.

The group looked at each other, having never heard of the name before.

So the group searched with the map and found it in a very remote corner.

Jing San hesitated, "Isn't this too far?"

Yu Meng looked at the markings on the map; it seemed like the area was surrounded by mountains. Even if that person didn't tell her, no one would find this place even in ten years.

Yu Meng didn't say anything. She had told Secretary Wu about her trip to Fucheng last night.

Secretary Wu has already transferred Jing's group, who were wandering around outside, to that direction.

They also said that everything would be taken care of along the way, with cars and people available, and that they had plenty of money!

As Yu Meng read the message, she could smell the ostentatious wealth emanating from Secretary Wu.

Once the location was determined, the next step was to determine who to follow.

Jing Ancheng is too conspicuous; let them be the bait!

Zhang Zhen could be brought along; after all, the knowledge and perspective of top talents are still useful to these country bumpkins. Two or three more people would be enough.

Finally, Sijiu and Sisan followed Jingsan back to the guild hall.

Jing Ancheng strongly disagreed, but Yu Meng directly stated that she wanted to follow him, and he had no right to object to her decision.

He finally gave in, and Jing San looked at him and comforted him, "Teacher Yu has already been very lenient with you."

And so, after this close encounter, Yu Meng disappeared.

Jing Ancheng's team didn't conceal their movements either. After two groups made contact, they were completely overwhelmed by the Jing family's guards. Furthermore, Yu Meng was nowhere to be found among the team. After that, no one bothered them.

Jingchuan Hall.

Jingyi looked at the people lying on the ground and said, "How many waves is this? They're dirt poor, wasting their energy every day."

Secretary Wu chuckled, "You don't understand their value. Look at that physique, that size, he's definitely a mining expert."

"Can you arrange it?" Jingyi looked at him suspiciously.

"Who do you think you are! Alright, pack them all up. Even small mosquitoes have meat, I'll give you extra food later."

Niannian leaned against the wall and looked up at the sky. Her fourth sister had been gone for a month, and she missed her.

Niannian has been in a bad mood lately and is always a little irritable. Seeing her spacing out there again, no one dares to go over and upset her.

"These scoundrels are really going too far in bullying us. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make them back down?"

"If that guy were here, we could save a lot of trouble by having him set up the formation."

Nian Nian rolled her eyes. "Is this what you thought? Who interrogated these people? Where are they from? Shall we go and raid their hometown?"

Jingyi and the others stared blankly at Niannian. "How did you come up with that?"

"To catch the thief, catch the leader first. It's pointless to fight these scattered soldiers. If we're going to do something, let's do something big."

A vote was taken by show of hands, and all members except Secretary Wu passed the motion.

"Uncle Wu is an office worker, he doesn't need to raise his hand," Nian Nian said to Jing Yi.

"Yes, he prepares food and supplies for us at home," Jingyi continued, following Niannian's words.

The rest was easy. Secretary Wu used his money to mobilize idle people within a ten-kilometer radius, instructing them to keep an eye on outsiders; if the information was verified, they would receive a bonus.

In this way, Jingyi and her group actually found several hideouts, and brought all the people and stolen goods back to the clubhouse.

This immediately boosted everyone's enthusiasm.

When Jing Ancheng and his group entered this area, they were all on edge, surrounded by menacing glances.

Even when staying in a hotel, they dared not close their eyes completely. Eating was even more out of the question, for fear of being drugged.

You might ask, "Aren't there airplanes? But they can't fly them. You think those flying things in the sky are just for show? If you go up there, you'll definitely get shot down."

Most importantly, Yu Meng had given them all her belongings, and they were to escort them back to the guild hall.

As for Jing San, after Yu Meng left, he led his men to meet up with Liu Wei and followed Yu Meng's route all the way.

They couldn't let Teacher Yu venture alone into the enemy's stronghold.

Jing Ancheng looked at the Jingchuan Guild Hall on the map. This short distance presented a real dilemma for him. If he fought, those people would only watch from a distance; they wouldn't approach or cause trouble.

If I don't fight, it feels like someone is watching every step I take.

When Secretary Wu received the news that a convoy had entered the area, he knew that it was the Jing family's guard team that Yu Meng had mentioned.

Secretary Wu was delighted, because Teacher Yu had said that these people were very capable.

So Nian Nian and Jing Yi drove a beat-up old car to pick them up.

Jing Ancheng frowned as he looked at the modified car blocking his way.

Jingyi and Niannian got out of the car, while Jing Ancheng remained seated. He wouldn't get out of the car easily if he didn't know the details.

Niannian smiled broadly, "Is this Captain Jing? I'm Niannian from Jingchuan Club, and this is Jingyi. We've come to pick you up."

Jing Ancheng didn't move. "How can you prove your identities?"

Niannian glanced at Jingyi, "How do you prove that?"

Jing shook her head; she didn't know.

Niannian tilted her head and looked at Jing Ancheng, "Have you guys been scammed before?"

Jing Ancheng didn't speak, he just looked at them.

"Did someone really lie to you?" Niannian asked, intrigued. "What did you do to those people?"
