Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 295 Preparation

Yu Meng looked up at the sky and said, "What a waste."

Jing San paused for a moment, then continued tapping as if nothing had happened.

Jing Ancheng watched this scene, his body tense. He stood behind Yu Meng, unable to see her expression, but he could clearly see Jing San's movements across from him.

This was an emergency, and the distance between the planes was quite far. How did they manage to do it?

The plane finally landed safely. Yu Meng stepped off the plane and looked around at the scenery. "Where am I? How far am I from home?"

"I don't know the exact location, but based on the time, we should have covered less than one-third of the distance."

Si Jiu, standing behind Jing San, replied, "And three more planes are coming."

Yu Meng looked at Jing Ancheng and said, "Do you know which force this is? They really think highly of me, sending such a large force."

"They're too far away to see clearly. But their purpose is obvious: they don't want us flying in the sky," Jing Ancheng replied in a deep voice.

Yu Meng smiled and looked up. Several airplanes were circling overhead, neither moving nor landing.

"Do you think if we lingered here longer, they might run out of fuel and have to turn back?"

The expressions on the faces of the people standing around were quite interesting. How long would they have to wait for the plane to run out of fuel?

Yu Meng was just saying that; she didn't have the habit of confronting enemies head-on.

Yu Meng looked at Jing Ancheng and said, "Even Aunt Xiao said you guys are very strong. Why don't you guys fight this battle?"

"Then I want full command, and no one can interfere." Jing Ancheng didn't mince words and stated his conditions directly.

"Okay, they'll listen to you too." Yu Meng pointed to everyone, including Jing San.

After thinking carefully for a while, Jing Ancheng said to Yu Meng, "I'm planning to find a place to camp here. If this is targeting Teacher Yu, they will definitely come looking for us."

"Hold on to the death?" Zhang Zhen uttered two words.

"No, it's a trap."

"Ah, you've used Teacher Yu as bait," Jing San frowned from the side. He wasn't against it, but rather he disapproved.

"This is the fastest way to gather the enemy together and eliminate them," Jing Ancheng said expressionlessly. "Besides, this way we can wait for the brothers on the way."

"That's a bit risky, isn't it?" Si Jiu asked hesitantly.

Jing Ancheng looked directly at Yu Meng.

Yu Meng waved her hand. "They're just offering suggestions; the final decision is yours. I'll follow your arrangements."

Jing Ancheng looked at Si Jiu, "You seem to have some special ability?"

Si Jiu didn't refute, and even smiled, "Using me is very expensive."

Jing Ancheng was taken aback, and Jing San chuckled softly, "The fee."

"How much do you want?" Jing Ancheng asked hesitantly. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation—having to pay extra for bodyguards' work.

Si Jiu glanced at Yu Meng out of the corner of her eye and saw that she wasn't paying attention to them.

"Since this is our first collaboration, I won't ask for much. I've taken a liking to the dagger at your waist." Si Jiu pointed to Jing Ancheng's black leather dagger.

Zhang Zhen was stunned for a moment, then began to watch the show. That was the standard equipment for the Jing family's head guard.

"You want this position from me?" Jing Ancheng asked, frowning.

"Huh?" Si Jiu was a little confused. "I want that dagger, I like it. Who wants your spot?"

"This dagger can only be worn by someone sitting in my position," Jing Ancheng explained without getting annoyed.

"Is that all? Just this one?" Si Jiu didn't believe it.

Chang Chen nodded in agreement, "This is the only one of its kind."

After discussing it for so long, Yu Meng also became curious and looked at the dagger. "Even now that we're here, are you still sticking to the Jing family's rules?"

Jing Ancheng's expression changed. He didn't say anything, but took off the dagger and handed it to Sijiu.

Si Jiu hesitated, but finally took it. It was just a little hot.

He silently retreated behind Jing San, fiddling with the dagger. He simply liked it; after Jing Ancheng finished speaking, he regretted it a little. He didn't feel pleasantly surprised by Yu Meng's support; instead, he felt somewhat uneasy.

At that moment, he especially missed Liu Wei.

Jing Ancheng looked at Jing San, who merely glanced at him and said, "Just say what you have to say."

Jing Ancheng relaxed a little. If this person also asked him for something, he really wouldn't know what to do.

"You stay with Teacher Yu. We'll probably have to change venues, and you'll need to help us out then." Jing San nodded in agreement.

After making the arrangements here, Jing Ancheng and Zhang Zhen went out.

Si Jiu walked up to Yu Meng and said, "I just like it, it's not like I absolutely have to have it."

"Good for you. Go back and have Secretary Wu equip each of you with one."

Si Jiu was relieved and went out. Now that he had accepted the gifts, he had to do a good job.

Jing San fiddled with the communication bell in her hand, "Teacher Yu, Liu Wei asked if they want to come over?"

"What are their plans?"

"We'll each do our own thing. We've never worked together before, and we're afraid of holding each other back."

After Jing San got off the plane, he said, "I need to disguise this plane. You can rest here."

Yu Meng chuckled, "I'm not that delicate."

Jing Ancheng walked ahead, followed by Zhang Zhen. "Thinking about something?"

Jing Ancheng remained silent, standing on higher ground and observing his surroundings. He needed to make the best use of the limited number of people he had.

Zhang Zhen didn't care about his answer and continued, "We are all outcasts, following the rules of the old master in the new master's house, which is not in accordance with the rules."

Jing Ancheng stood there for a while, then walked towards another high ground.

"Your defensive line cannot be too long. We don't know their combat capabilities. If we can't hold it, we will be in a very passive position."

Jing Ancheng spoke up, "See that extra car? They stole it."

Are you sure?

"I'm not all alone like you. I have a team."

Zhang Zhen gritted his teeth, thinking, "Having a team is nothing special." But reality left him no choice. They were simply better than him, at least in terms of getting information much faster.

Nothing happened until dark. But everyone was on edge.

Si Jiu found a spot with the wind at his back and lay down on the ground.

Yu Meng didn't sleep either; she was prepared to make her move, since there were very few people around her.

The sound of the night wind, accompanied by a rustling sound, came through the air.

News of the fourth wave also arrived: there were twenty people, five on the east and five on the west, three on the south, their footsteps heavy. There was one on the riverbank. The rest were the second wave, on the east and south, about 100 meters apart.

Jing San repeated in a low voice. Jing Ancheng was truly surprised this time; they actually still had a communication bell at a time like this.

"Tell him to protect himself, monitor him in real time, and report any approaching personnel immediately," Jing Ancheng said calmly.

Jing San didn't hesitate and relayed the message directly.

Yu Meng rummaged through her small backpack and found two more communication bells, giving one to Jing Ancheng and one to Zhang Zhen.

"Go add him as a friend yourself."

Jing San tactfully stepped forward. Jing Ancheng opened his mouth, but finally steeled himself and spoke up, "Teacher Yu, I don't have two vice-captains yet."

Jing San secretly curled her lip; they really weren't being polite.
