Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 29: Seating

"I think so," Dali said, looking up at the screen.

The woman picked up the microphone. "Hello, can you hear me? I have something to say. Some teachers from the next town will be arriving in a little while. Students in the front row, please move back one row in order."

No one moved. The two men on the stage came down and led the people in the front row to move to the back.

Dali and Sister Xiu also stood up, and the whole group moved backward, which was quite troublesome.

Everyone moved back to their original positions, and somehow, when the people in the front row moved to Yu Meng's spot, there was one more person there.

Before Yu Meng had even finished speaking, that person actually sat down right after Sister Xiu.

Yu Meng looked at the person who had taken her seat, tilting her head as she stared at her.

"What are you looking at? What could a little kid like you understand? You might as well go home and sleep."

Dali looked at the person and said, "You weren't in the front row just now." She stepped forward and grabbed the person, pulling them up. "Trying to take advantage of me. You think I'm easy to bully?" She threw the person into the aisle.

"I'm in the front row too, this is my seat," the woman retorted.

Seeing that there were people causing trouble, the man became very angry. "What's going on? Sit down right now. If you keep making a scene and the lecturer gets angry, he'll have to leave out some material. Will you take responsibility for that?"

"Cousin, they're bullying me!" the woman on the ground cried out.

"Who dares to bully you?" he asked, looking at Dali. "You bullied her."

Dali shook her head. "I didn't bully her. She bullied my little sister."

Yu Meng happily peeked out her little head.

"I saw it, she took the child's seat," Sister Xiu testified from the side.

"Shameless! Everyone comes to queue up early in the morning. If you want to cut in line, just find someone to queue for you. Bullying a child like this is a disgrace to us mask-removing masters," the person who insisted on sitting earlier chimed in.

My cousin opened his mouth but didn't say anything.

"Get up right now and find yourself a seat," another man said irritably. They had so many other things to deal with; they couldn't afford to waste time on one person.

Seeing that her cousin didn't say anything, the woman stood up, glared at Yu Meng, and turned to leave.

Yu Meng squinted and lightly tapped her toes on the ground twice. Was he using her as a punching bag?

Dali returned to her seat and patted the girl in front of her. "Thank you for earlier. There aren't many honest people like you. My name is Yu Li. What's yours? Let's be friends."

"Ah, you're Yu Li, the Yu Li who can peel the skin off a crocodile." The girl was very excited.

Dali nodded.

"My name is Su Hongyan. I hope you'll take good care of me in the future, Sister Yu." Then she looked to the other side of Dali and said, "Excuse me, sister, let's switch seats."

"No, I want to get closer to Sister Yu too. My name is Lin Guoguo."

Upon hearing that the eldest sister was Yu Li, everyone around introduced themselves to Yu Li. Da Li nodded, signaling for everyone to be quiet.

The real lecturer has arrived; they are about to attend the lecture.

This is a woman in her early thirties. She is wearing a beige cashmere cardigan, which makes her look even more gentle and refined. A delicate ribbon is tied at the neckline, hanging naturally in front of her chest. A few strands of hair fall behind her ears, adding a touch of softness.

A finger lightly tapped the projection screen, and a faint silver light flickered on his wrist.

Yu Meng recognized it; it was an ornament made of a special kind of leather, much like her turf bracelet.

The lecturer spoke in great detail, starting with the origins and history of mask revealers and continuing to their contributions in various fields today.

The text then discusses the ranking of unmasking masters. Unmasking master is the lowest level; if you are found to have this talent, you are a level one unmasking master. Levels follow in order: level two, level three, and so on up to level nine. The standard for these levels is the number of lines you can visualize in your mind.

Above the mask-revealing master are the mask-making master, then the bone-drawing master, the spirit-imbuing master, and finally the holy master.

Finally, the instructors used the dough provided by the town to make several small items, such as the bracelet Yu Meng made, and even some small ornaments.

The instructor's technique was different from Yu Meng's, but the final result was the same: the finished products were all very spiritual. This is already the most basic operation for a mold maker.

In the final stage, you can raise your hand to ask a question.

This is what everyone is most concerned about. Yu Meng also raised her little hand; she also had a problem.

Unfortunately, as the lecture time approached, Yu Meng was not called on by the lecturer.

But Yu Meng's little hand did not go down; she continued to hold it up.

"Now, we'll give the last question to this young unmasker and see what questions she has to ask."

Yu Meng was overjoyed; she had finally been asked a question. "Teacher, I have a question. Is that the only way you made the bracelet? Where can I learn it?"

As soon as the question was asked, the entire auditorium fell silent. This was the first question anyone had asked about the technique the lecturer had used to make the bracelet, and everyone was eager to know as well.

The lecturer on stage smiled. "This student, your question is a bit beyond the scope of the curriculum. Are you sure you don't want to ask another one?"

"Teacher, that's exactly what I want to know," Yu Meng said firmly.

"This is a technique you can only use after you become a film-making artist. My technique is inherited from my teacher. But there isn't only one technique; it depends on which teacher you can study under in the future."

Yu Meng bowed to express her gratitude. So her current technique is acceptable.

When the teacher announced the end of the lecture, everyone rushed to the stage. Everyone wanted to get close to the teacher; they still had many questions they didn't understand and wanted to ask for clarification.

The town's security team stepped forward, separated the crowd, and let the teachers go first.

Yu Meng didn't move. She was too short, and if she went forward now, she was afraid someone would step on her.

Dali whispered in Xiujie's ear, "That bracelet, is it the one we made?"

Sister Xiu nodded, "It's just a different color."

Dali's eyes are so bright, so very bright. Her little sister is truly amazing.

Only when there were very few people left did Dali pull Yu Meng out of the Great Hall of the People.

Jiang Mingfeng was getting very anxious waiting outside. "Dali, what happened? Why are you only coming out now?"

"There are too many people. I don't have any plans for today, so it's okay to take it slow," Dali said leisurely, in a good mood.

"Let's go, I'll take you to eat, and then I'll take your little sister home."

Jiang Mingfeng walked in front, while Dali and the other two walked behind, talking as they went.

"Cousin, they're the ones who bullied me just now," a female voice rang out.

Dali looked up and saw five people opposite her: three men and two women. Turning to Sister Xiu, she said, "It's the woman who took the seat from the younger sister earlier. There are many of them, so the younger sister, you'd better hurry."
