Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 237 We must seize this ready-made opportunity!

Captain Tian tossed the man into the back of the truck and climbed in himself. Old Chen, however, didn't follow him into the back; instead, he walked around the car parked on the side of the road.

He opened the driver's side door and climbed in, and no one knows what he did inside.

As I got out of the car and was about to walk to the back of my own vehicle, I looked up and was met with Nian Nian's smiling face.

Niannian tossed him a small bottle, "Wave it under that person's nose a few times and he'll wake up."

Old Chen mechanically took the small bottle and then returned to the back of the truck.

"Who's with Hua Shulang? When did he start carrying a bow and arrow? And he's quite accurate." Captain Tian didn't even look up.

Old Chen swallowed hard and answered in a low voice, "It's Nian Nian!"

"Who did you say it was?" Captain Tian looked up at Old Chen in surprise.

"This was given to me by Niannian. She said that if you wave it under someone's nose, they will wake up," Old Chen said, handing the small bottle to Captain Tian.

Captain Tian laughed. "I thought she was scared and ran back to the clubhouse, but it turns out she went to get reinforcements?"

The people in the car on this side have been dealt with. But the car parked on the other side remains completely untouched.

Niannian was eyeing the other car, itching to get behind it.

Hua Shulang quickly stopped her, "You stay here and don't go down. Cover for me. I'll go!"

Niannian didn't hesitate and nodded in agreement. But before Hua Shulang could make a move, Niannian grabbed him.

"No need to go, Yu Er and the others have taken care of it."

Hua Shulang looked out the car window but didn't notice anything wrong.

Are you sure?

"Hey, I'm sure! Can you still drive this car away? We're really rich this time, we've got two cars for free." Niannian clenched her fist and waved it a few times in the air.

"Of course, my skills are top-notch." Hua Shulang wasn't being modest at this moment.

"Let's go first, someone will drive the car." Niannian stretched out her hand, her lines forming a symbol in the air.

Hua Shulang didn't ask too many questions, and he didn't know much about the methods of the Bone Painter.

Jing San and the others all saw the symbol, but they didn't say anything and silently returned to the guild hall.

Hua Shulang looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the two cars had actually followed them.

The group returned to the clubhouse along their own routes, as if by unspoken agreement.

Secretary Wu looked at the two people being carried in, his hand on the table clenching slightly. "Why were they brought here?"

"We interrogated these two, but they weren't very clear, so we had to come to you," Jingyi explained from the side. "Here's the record."

"They actually came here with a purpose?" Secretary Wu was surprised.

Jingyi nodded. "And judging from their description, they must have been targeted the day Jinger and the others disappeared."

Secretary Wu looked at Jingyi and said, "Your methods are quite impressive now; you've achieved results so quickly."

"Niannian gave us a little something. We tried it out, and it worked really well." Jingyi sold Niannian off without hesitation.

Secretary Wu looked at him with a half-smile. "From now on, even if I ask you about things like this, you can keep quiet."

"How could that be? You are our direct superior. I won't hide anything from you, no matter what you ask." Jingyi was very straightforward.

"Then tell me, what is the purpose of your visit?"

Jingyi looked conflicted, glancing at Secretary Wu as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

"Stop with the nonsense and get to the point."

"We just want to go and see that place they mentioned," Jingyi said, straightening up. She quickly repeated this as soon as Secretary Wu finished speaking.

Secretary Wu regretted asking those questions; these top talents were all plotting against him. No matter what he said, he would have to bear the consequences for them.

"You haven't told me the specifics yet," Secretary Wu said, suppressing his frustration and taking a sip of tea before asking.

"That's what they said exactly: they were to find a way to lure someone out, and their mission was to capture someone and bring them back to report."

Do you have any candidates you suspect?

"Jing Er said that only one person knew their identities from beginning to end. That person was Li Shuchen."

"Li Shuchen? He wasn't the first person to find Jing'er and the others." Secretary Wu looked at Jingyi. "Back then, I even gave him a lot of things through Uncle Yan Lei's connections."

"Yu Er recalled that only this person remained conscious and even spoke to them. Most importantly, his accomplice was not dead, and he would definitely bring the person back."

"If we take him back and he wakes up, it's not a big deal. The problem is if he sends him to the hospital and he wakes up inexplicably a few days later, then it's worth investigating." Jingyi analyzed calmly.

"Did you come to deceive Jingyi because you wanted to know how he did it?" Secretary Wu asked Jingyi tentatively.

"According to Yu Er, it wasn't just Li Shuchen's companions who were unconscious at the time, but also the clansmen of the fake Xian'er who was at odds with Nangong."

Secretary Wu was completely baffled. "Then who exactly orchestrated this? They're incredibly shrewd; they even knew that Jing Er and the others were at the Jingchuan Clubhouse."

"So, Secretary Wu, we've been bullied to the point of being practically at their doorstep. Should we fight back?"

Secretary Wu sipped his tea. "What's the rush? Didn't they fail this time? Do you think they'll try again?"

"You're going to wait?" Jingyi asked incredulously. "When did we become so pathetic?"

"You don't understand? Go back and investigate again; maybe you can dig out something more."

Jingyi realized that Secretary Wu was not joking, so she had no choice but to take the two of them away again.

Seeing Jingyi leave, Secretary-General Wu breathed a sigh of relief. These people really have boundless energy, getting involved with the Jia family like this. He has to be careful.

Sitting there, I carefully read through the few sheets of paper I had written, but something just didn't feel right. They just bluntly said they'd take someone to some manor. Only a fool would do that, right?

Unable to figure it out, Secretary Wu took the statement to Yu Meng.

As Yu Meng listened to Secretary Wu recount the whole story, she concluded, "A fool came to our club to scam people, but you saw through his scheme and turned the tables on him, thus learning about this manor. Right?"

Secretary Wu nodded. "Should we investigate?"

What are you worried about?

Secretary Wu sighed, "It's too chaotic outside right now, I don't want to cause any unnecessary trouble."

"Can you keep them in check?" Yu Meng raised an eyebrow at him.

"Of course I can't. You're here. If you disagree, who among them will dare to get angry?"

"But I agree."

"Huh? You agree?" Secretary Wu was completely confused.

"The communication bell has completely stopped working, so we're now deaf and blind. I was just thinking of sending people around to gather some information. You don't think the important matter I'm talking about is just this little thing right now, do you?"

"Isn't that right?"

"Of course not, how could something like this be a big deal?" What Yu Meng didn't say was that the current situation posed absolutely no threat to her. The mysterious voice told her to live well. There must be something threatening her life. But she had no clue what it was. A ready-made opportunity had been delivered to her doorstep; she didn't even need to make an excuse. How wonderful!
