Why did you provoke me?
Chapter 173 Yu Meng's ideas are always unexpected
"Hidden families are long-established families that primarily use one surname while using others as secondary surnames. They have profound foundations and possess power and resources unknown to the world. It is said that they all have a family in the secular world to handle their affairs," Yu Meng explained in general terms.
Qingyuan shook her head. "I don't know anything about these things, and I've never met anyone from a reclusive family."
"Aunt Qing, didn't you say that the 'Swaying Beauty' production line at Jingchuan Base was acquired by an inconspicuous family, while other forces remained silent or observed? Perhaps the power behind this small family is a reclusive family. This is just my speculation, and it may not be true," Yu Meng said calmly.
"Yu Meng, I'm just an old woman, I don't understand many things. Anyway, I can't understand the current situation." Qingyuan tidied the boxes on the table. "You saved my life, so I'll follow you from now on. You tell me what to do, and I'll do it."
Yu Meng looked at her and said, "I'm just a little girl with no experience in the world. You're still following me. Aren't you afraid I'll lead us both astray?"
"Don't worry. With your abilities, even if we fall into a ditch, you can pull us all out." Qingyuan's skin has gotten a bit thicker lately.
Yu Meng smiled. "I only realized today that I have such great charm."
"You just found out? Our Secretary Wu admires you to the skies. When he heard you were coming, he was so happy, it was like he'd found some rare treasure." Qingyuan's tone was calm and certain.
Yu Meng hurriedly waved her hand. "Aunt Qing, please stop praising me in such roundabout ways. I'm not as good as you say."
Yu Meng thought to herself, "If I were really that good, I wouldn't have kept certain information from you." She hadn't even revealed a single detail about the alien medicine.
A month passed just like that. The removal of the remaining aliens from the soldiers was progressing very smoothly. Although a month hadn't solved the problem for many, wasn't there hope?
Secretary Wu wore a smile on his face, busy with various tasks all day long; he was genuinely happy. He knew that miracles always happened where Yu Meng was.
That day, Secretary Wu came to Yu Meng's office. "Teacher Yu, what are your plans for those soldiers?"
"How are they doing? Can they control their behavior and thoughts?" Yu Meng asked curiously.
"Absolutely no problem. Apart from their somewhat frightening appearance, they are just like normal people. I specifically had a psychology expert test them. Their logical thinking is fine. Some soldiers have even developed some special abilities. For example, they can run incredibly fast, and their hearing is so good it's unbelievable. There's one even more exaggerated one whose tongue can taste a hundred different flavors."
Yu Meng was surprised; this person had even developed special abilities.
"So, to what extent have their lines been honed? Can they drag objects?" Yu Meng continued to ask.
"No, the best we can do is control the lines to tie up the flies," Secretary Wu chuckled. "You don't know, when the first soldier did it and successfully tied up the fly, everyone else followed suit. I've noticed there are far fewer flies in our clubhouse lately."
"Put them in groups of 10 and train them like this first. My ultimate goal is for them to all be able to peel off the dough of the alien shapes with lines," Yu Meng said softly.
Secretary Wu's mouth gaped open, and he stammered, "Teacher Yu, are you joking?"
"No, why would I joke about something like this? They're all just lines; if we can do it, they can definitely do it too."
Secretary Wu cursed inwardly. How could they be the same? Your lines are a gift from heaven, a means of livelihood. The soldiers' lines are scars left by aliens.
Although that's what she was thinking, Secretary Wu couldn't say it out loud.
Secretary Wu carefully chose his words, "If the soldiers' lines could also do this, it would be a significant contribution to all of humanity."
Yu Meng frowned. "I just suddenly had this idea, whether it works or not depends on the training results."
"Then, Teacher Yu, will you teach them yourself?"
Yu Meng felt a headache coming on when she heard Secretary Wu's words. Teaching others was probably her weakest skill. In the end, Yu Meng nodded anyway.
"I'll make the arrangements now. I wonder which day Teacher Yu plans to teach them. Can I give them a hint about this?" Secretary Wu seemed even more anxious about this than Yu Meng.
Yu Meng thought for a moment, then pointed to the teacup on the table and said, "Let them practice until they can lift the teacup. Then, fill the teacup with water and lift it again."
Looking at Secretary Wu's incredulous expression, Yu Meng paused, then used her own lines to reenact the process she had just described.
While Secretary Wu stood there dumbfounded, Yu Meng shooed him out, saying, "Go ahead and get back to work."
Secretary Wu stumbled out of Yu Meng's office. What had he just seen? Yu Meng's lines seemed to possess a spirit of their own. They automatically coiled and knotted around the teacup, then the teacup came to a steady stop in mid-air.
Secretary Wu walked to the soldiers' designated area and repeated Yu Meng's words. He emphasized that a teacup filled with water could indeed be lifted steadily into the air by a single line.
"Since our Secretary Wu has already said so, let's train until we reach this level." A deep voice rang out among the soldiers.
"Yes."
The unified response brought tears to Secretary Wu's eyes. Yu Meng hadn't just saved them; she had practically pulled them back from the depths of hell.
Naturally, we didn't have enough tea mugs.
When Secretary Wu arranged for the soldiers to collect the aliens, he specifically added a clause requiring them to bring their own teacups and stipulated the required dimensions.
The warriors, who already felt like useless people, heard Yu Meng's request for them and a flame of "I am still useful" ignited in their hearts.
Yu Meng's demands acted like a stimulant injected into their bodies. The arduous training and the strict requirements were all far beyond Yu Meng's expectations.
Two weeks later, Secretary Wu came to Yu Meng's office again.
He smiled broadly. "Teacher Yu, 50 soldiers have already met your requirements. Do you have any requirements regarding the classes?"
"So fast?" Yu Meng looked incredulous.
Secretary Wu looked at Yu Meng with a complicated expression. "Teacher Yu, you don't know what bringing this up means to them. They were already a pile of rotting flesh. You've given them a new soul. You've become a god-like figure in their hearts."
Yu Meng was stunned. "Secretary Wu, can't we talk this out? What did I do? How did I become their god?"
Secretary Wu shook his head. "I can't explain it that clearly either. Perhaps the moment you see them, you'll realize that those burning gazes are the gazes of seeing the god within your own heart."
Yu Meng frowned; she didn't want such a halo—it was too bright.
