Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 151 Yu Meng's First Time on the Alien Battlefield

After getting off the plane, Yu Meng pulled Niannian to her side. "It's chaotic in here, stay close to me and don't wander off."

Xiao Wen walked to the small iron gate leading to the alien battlefield and paid the fee for several people to enter the battlefield.

Through the long tunnel, Yu Meng saw the scene of the alien battlefield for the first time.

In the hazy night, curses and cries filled the air. Many screams could be faintly heard from afar.

The crowd stretched out like large, dark shadows on the ground in the night, patch by patch. A few firelights illuminated their numb faces.

"This place wasn't originally crowded with so many people, but now there are many more. The situation inside is also very complicated. Legend has it that no one who goes in ever comes back alive, so this area has temporarily become a living area in the battlefield."

Yu Meng nodded without saying anything, but held Niannian tightly.

When the door to the passage opened and several more people entered, the surrounding crowd stirred, and some people eagerly moved to surround them.

People who go out and come back in will bring in some supplies, and that's what they're after.

Xiao Wen stepped to the front, scanning the group with his searchlight, and then shouted, "We have no supplies, we just came in to find someone. If anyone dares to mess with us, we won't be polite."

His tone was cold and his eyes were fierce; he was a completely different person from the Xiao Wen that Yu Meng had seen outside.

The crowd that had gathered saw that they were carrying weapons and that they were not carrying backpacks, so they slowly retreated.

Several people surrounded Yu Meng and Niannian, and slowly walked to the side. They didn't walk fast, constantly watching for any movement around them.

Yu Meng was shocked. She hadn't expected the alien battlefield to be so chaotic. Luckily, she hadn't presumptuously entered with Nian Nian.

"Captain Xiao, over here." A person walked out of the darkness and called out to Xiao Wen.

"I've invited a bone-drawing artist over. How is the person?" Xiao Wen's tone was a little anxious.

"Six people have already fallen, and we still don't know who the newest parasite is. How about we give the captain-level personnel an examination first?" he tentatively asked. "Those people who were running around were held down by the captain and his men, who then tied them up together."

Xiao Wen turned around and glanced at Yu Meng.

"Find me a place, do you have a tent? Create a private space for me. You can arrange the people." Yu Meng didn't waste any words and directly stated her requirements.

"Yes, I'll have someone set up a tent for you right away," the person who came out replied quickly.

"Xiao Wen, with so many people, we need to check them one by one. You can send your own people first. After all, you're the few I trust most here. Also, if anyone has any withered branches or aliens, have them bring them over."

Niannian tugged at Yu Meng, "Fourth Sister, you need to make your fee clear. After all, we shouldn't work for free."

Du Wenhe pointed to someone next to him and said, "He knows almost everyone here. Let him sit at the door and have people sign autographs when they come in."

Yu Meng nodded, "You can arrange these things. Also, send me some of the aliens you've collected; I need to see samples. If you find any you like, you'll have a small goal to achieve in the future."

Xiao Wen was delighted that Yu Meng was willing to help and had made her own request. There was no reason for him to refuse.

Although rumors were circulating that a certain pharmaceutical company had added Xenomorphs to create a drug with miraculous effects, he knew that Xenomorphs weren't so easy to obtain. If the Xenomorph battlefield were full of treasures, the base wouldn't have ended up in such a miserable state.

Yu Meng stayed in the same spot for only 10 minutes before someone came over to tell her that the location was ready and they should go there.

Niannian's eyes were full of excitement. She tugged at Yu Meng's hand and whispered, "Fourth Sister, can I try too?"

Yu Meng nodded. "I will teach you how to remove the little flower alien. This kind of alien parasitizes the brain, and a person's life will be lost if they are not careful. You have to be careful, very careful, understand?"

Niannian nodded her head rapidly. "I know, my fourth sister has told me these things many times, and I've remembered them."

"You can't be impatient or take this lightly when doing this," Yu Meng earnestly instructed. "These people will be our comrades-in-arms and our support in the future. You need to impress them with your professional skills, make them proud of you, and let them know that as long as you're here, they're safe."

"I know, I will definitely be the one who can keep things in check."

"Watch fewer of those bandit movies in the future. Keep a low profile, okay?" Yu Meng sighed. She just wanted to live a quiet life behind the scenes. But Niannian's personality was different; she wanted to be the most dazzling presence.

The tent was very simple, just a circle around the four sides, covered with branches, and the searchlight was stuck in the branches.

Soon, the first person entered the tent. Yu Meng checked it with lines, and then let Nian Nian do it.

Niannian felt no fear whatsoever. She had seen several different kinds of aliens before, and she didn't find them terrifying at all. On the contrary, she found them very cute, a feast for her eyes.

"Can I let it eat by itself inside?" Niannian asked a question that no one else could understand.

"You think it's okay?" Yu Meng asked doubtfully.

"Little Grey likes it very much." Niannian's voice was full of joy.

"Okay, if you think it's good, then it's fine. There will be a lot of people tonight, so don't let it overeat. Share some with the others too," Yu Meng reminded Niannian.

Du Wenhe walked to the tent entrance and sat down. The stolen supplies were a minor matter. As long as everyone was safe, they could just go and get them back.

Half an hour later, Nian Nian pulled the alien out. "Fourth Sister, should we peel off its skin?"

Yu Meng nodded, "Make them directly into beads and then give them to the parasitic warriors."

Although Niannian didn't understand Yu Meng's meaning, she still did as she was told. The bead was very small, only the size of a grain of millet.

Niannian handed the tiny bead to the soldier. The soldier looked at Yu Meng with confusion; he had heard what Yu Meng had just said.

"Keep it with you. Maybe this kind of alien won't parasitize you anymore," Yu Meng said casually. "I'm just guessing, but I hope you can verify this for me."

"Yes, mission accomplished." His soldierly discipline made him stand up immediately and give his assurance. Then he happily went out. If things really went as his family's bone-drawing master said, wouldn't he be invincible on the battlefield?

That's right. Xiao Wen has already spread the word that Yu Meng is their exclusive bone painter, so it's perfectly reasonable for him to say that the bone painter is from their family.

Yu Meng didn't call a second person in. She gestured with her eyes, asking, "How's Nian Nian?"

Niannian clasped her hands together in front of her and then smiled sweetly at Yu Meng.

Yu Meng nudged her in mid-air. "Keep a low profile, or you'll become a target."

Niannian patted her little chest and said, "No problem!"
