Chapter 350 Cruel Prophecy, Frigga's Assistance
"The Rainbow Bridge is now completely closed; Asgard accepts no outsiders."
Although Peter's imposing presence made Heimdall feel a sense of unease.
But Heimdall still gritted his teeth and delivered his lines.
Peter looked at the flashy-looking, burly black man, too lazy to fight him. He simply smiled, took a step to the side, revealing Sif behind him, and asked with a smile:
"Not even our own people from Asgard?"
"Heimdall," Sif couldn't help but step forward, speaking with some excitement.
"The situation is urgent; I need to see the Father of the Gods."
After a two-second silence, Heimdall finally revealed the truth:
"The Father of the Gods has fallen into a deep sleep once more, and now the Queen of Gods, Frigg, reigns."
"Then let me go see Her Majesty the Heavenly Empress!"
Sif's voice was filled with urgency.
"Kur has broken free of the seal, and Earth is under attack from the Heavenly Hammer Venerable."
If Asgard continues to stand idly by, and Kur completely conquers Earth and regains his full power, he will be utterly unable to stop it. You should know what that means.
Heimdall tightened his grip on the sword by half an inch.
He certainly knew what was happening on Earth, but the Queen's order was...
"Let them in, Heimdall. Peter is an ally chosen by the Allfathers, and I believe he poses no threat to Asgard."
A gentle yet undeniable voice came from behind Heimdall.
Frigga appeared at the end of the passage, wearing a long gold dress, her face dignified yet weary.
The moment their eyes met, despite being extremely tired, he still managed to force a smile at Peter:
"Long time no see, Peter."
Compared to Frigga's respect, Peter's behavior seemed somewhat rude:
"I'd rather hear a reasonable explanation than meaningless pleasantries."
"The Earth is being plunged into undeserved disaster because of your domestic affairs, yet Asgard remains indifferent, even closing the Rainbow Bridge and choosing to cower in fear!"
Upon hearing this merciless denigration, Heimdall's fingers, gripping the broadsword, tightened instinctively.
He was about to reprimand Peter for his rudeness when he heard a loud shout from behind him.
"Hey, Peter!"
A loud, energetic shout came from the direction of the palace.
Thor strode down the palace steps, his long golden hair flying in the wind, a simple and hearty smile on his face.
"My friend! What are you doing in Asgard! Does Sif want to go back to her parents' home?"
Thor rushed to Peter in three strides and reached out to give him a standard Asgardian bear hug.
But Peter shoved the guy far away with one hand, making him fall flat on his backside in a very embarrassing way.
"Damn it, what did you eat to grow up like this? How is your physical strength so ridiculously strong?!"
Despite losing face on his home turf, Sol showed no sign of anger.
It wasn't until he noticed that everyone present looked unwell that he belatedly realized something seemed amiss.
"What happened? What's wrong?"
"You don't know?" Peter asked back.
Thor shook his head, looking bewildered.
Frigga sighed deeply and rubbed her temples in exasperation.
"Let's get to the palace first."
A moment later, in the royal banquet hall.
Frigga looked at the three young people in the room and slowly revealed the truth of what happened back then.
"Actually... your grandfather did not pass the throne directly to your father. Before your father became the Father of the Gods, the previous Father of the Gods was actually your uncle, Kur."
"When he first became the God-King, he was considered an enlightened monarch, but later he became increasingly corrupt, only wanting to rule the Nine Realms through fear and war!"
"All living beings in the Nine Realms suffer terribly because of his existence. Your father chose to turn against his brother for the sake of peace in the Nine Realms and defeated him."
"But just as your father was about to kill Kur... the World Tree stopped him and gave a prophecy."
Frigga's voice was soft, but it still sounded exceptionally clear in the empty hall.
"Only the Son of Thunder can end the great serpent forever when it breaks free of its shackles."
"But even after the Son of Thunder kills the serpent, he too will fall to the serpent's venom nine steps later."
Thor stood there, stunned.
"Son of Thunder..." he murmured, repeating the phrase, "...is he referring to...me?"
Frigga did not speak.
But the tears welling up in her eyes already gave the answer.
"Is this why you blocked the Rainbow Bridge?" Thor's voice suddenly rose.
Frigga instinctively avoided her son's gaze:
"Your father's last words before he fell into a deep sleep were—no matter what, you must not go to Earth."
A complex and indescribable expression appeared on Thor's face.
Anger, shock, resentment, and then—those intense emotions gradually subsided, eventually transforming into a strange calm:
"So you'd rather watch people die one by one on Earth than let me fulfill my duty as a soldier?"
Frigga's tears finally fell:
"Loki is unable to win over the people and his whereabouts are unknown. Your father is old and frail. Thor... you are the future of Asgard, and the Nine Realms still need your protection."
Saul opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a single word. In the end, he could only look to Peter for help:
"You came here to take me into battle, right?"
Peter shook his head:
"I'm here simply to get an explanation."
"The argument is that Asgard will take responsibility for this!" Thor patted his chest.
"Sol!" Frigga's voice became more stern than ever before.
But Saul was not afraid. He simply turned around and gave his mother a completely open and honest smile.
"Mother, if this is what fate has in store for me—"
He paused.
"Then I should accept it calmly."
"Only cowards choose to run away, but I am Saul Odinson."
"I cannot allow Odin's name to be tarnished."
Frigga's body was trembling.
She bit her lower lip hard, tears silently streaming down her cheeks.
Just as the mother and son were speechless...
Snap snap snap~
Peter once again ruined the atmosphere:
"A fantastic tearjerker scene, but it's time to end!"
"Let's go, Sif! Although we didn't get the answer we wanted, it looks like we can use that dead snake's head to get some extra compensation later."
Upon hearing this, Thor became anxious:
"Mother!"
Frigga sighed, and finally spoke:
"Mr. Peter, please come with me."
As she spoke, she led Peter and the other two through another long corridor to an entrance sealed by a heavy magical stone door.
Frigga placed her palm on the stone door, golden runes lit up, and the stone door opened with a roar.
Immediately afterwards, a wave of heat hit us.
"This is the forging furnace of the Celestial Palace... the birthplace of all divine artifacts."
"I am willing to give you this place to help you forge an artifact that can fight against Kur."
"And I have only one request... Please, make sure my child returns to Asgard alive!"
