Wanda had imagined many different expressions Tony might make when she sought revenge.

They might hysterically berate themselves as madmen, or turn pale and try to justify their past misdeeds.

They even humbly knelt on the ground and kowtowed to themselves, begging for mercy.

But she never imagined things would turn out this way.

Her mortal enemy, the culprit who sustained her through the past 10 years of darkness.

He surprisingly admitted to the mistakes he made back then with complete composure.

"I am deeply sorry about what happened in Sokovia."

Tony slowly began to speak, revealing his true feelings.

"I have to say, I was a bastard back then. In those years, I only cared about selling weapons and never thought about who would end up with them or what kind of targets they would be aimed at."

"Until last year when I was hit by a missile I made myself, until those shrapnel pieces nearly killed me, until I was imprisoned by terrorists in Afghanistan and forced to build new missiles."

Only then did I truly realize what a grave mistake I had made back then.

He paused here, his gaze towards Wanda becoming incredibly sincere:

"I'm not saying this to elicit sympathy or gain your pity."

"I know that very well, but your parents are dead, and no matter what I do, they can't come back to life."

"I say these words only to repent, only to offer you, and many families around the world who have had the same experience as you, who have been persecuted by the missiles manufactured by Stark Industries, an apology that is many years overdue."

As soon as these words were spoken, a flood of comments appeared on the screen.

"I never imagined that Iron Man would actually...apologize one day?"

"He doesn't make excuses or shirk responsibility. Iron Man is a real man. I admire him more and more."

"I have had the same experience as Scarlet Witch, but I have decided to forgive Mr. Tony. After all, compared to the murder he committed by unintentionally using their company's missiles."

Everything he's doing now has already paid off the debts he owed in the past.

After apologizing, Tony spoke solemnly again:

"I know that everything that is happening now is being watched by many people in many countries around the world, so I am willing to announce here,"

I, Tony Stark, am willing to pay the price for the mistakes I made back then, and I am willing to provide reasonable financial compensation to all those who were displaced and suffered because of our company's arms dealing.

Including you!

At this point, he looked at Wanda and Pietro and said:

"I can use everything Stark Industries has left to make amends for you and your brother."

"But I will not choose today to atone for my sins with my death before you and your brother."

"It's not because I'm afraid of death, but because my sins haven't been atoned!"

"I must survive, and I must do everything in my power to use my mind to protect this planet from external invasion, to promote the further development of technology on this planet, and to enable more people to live a better life."

I believe this way of atonement is far more meaningful than simply dying here today!

The entire battlefield fell silent for several seconds after Tony's words.

Wanda hovered in the air, a complex emotion flickering in her crimson pupils.

Even the vortex of chaotic magic behind her was briefly disrupted, and the chains binding the superheroes seemed on the verge of breaking.

But the next second, the red light in Wanda's eyes intensified, and the chains tightened suddenly, making it difficult for everyone present to breathe.

"Don't try to fool me! This is just one side of the story, a desperate attempt to save your own life!"

Seeing Tony about to be strangled to death by the tightening chains, the live chat couldn't help but flood the screen with comments again:

"No way! I think Mr. Iron Man has been very sincere, why won't Miss Scarlet Witch let him go?!"

"Sis! I'm begging you, please let Iron Man go! I'll kneel down and beg you!"

"Tony is right! Letting him live to benefit more people is the best atonement!"

"Exactly, it's such a shame that Mr. Iron Man died here!"

"Where is the Arbitrator? Quickly use your invincible mind and equally invincible strength to think of a solution!"

But Peter remained indifferent to the urging from the viewers in the live chat.

He did nothing but watch as Wanda tightened the chains around Tony's body.

Tony's face began to turn bluish-purple, his eyes bulged, and his tongue involuntarily stuck out.

But at that moment, the scarlet chains suddenly loosened a little.

This gave Tony a chance to breathe again.

Wanda was struck dumb at the sight. She stared at her hands in disbelief, seemingly unable to comprehend why the chaotic magic within her was acting against her will.

"So you finally realized it?"

Just then, Peter finally spoke, his voice light and cheerful like never before:

"You want to kill Tony now, is it out of hatred, or your obsession, or... what you really wanted was never revenge, but just a way to vent your frustrations?"

As he spoke, he appeared beside Tony in a flash, tapped the chain with his finger, and the chain that was trying to tighten again shattered instantly.

Wanda was enraged upon seeing this and couldn't help but let out a piercing scream:

"You're asking for it!"

A powerful wave of chaotic magic struck Peter, but Peter remained calm and composed. With a simple flick of his hand, he used the divine energy within him to neutralize the powerful magical impact.

"I understand what you mean. In that case, let it all out."

"I'll play however you want."

He pointed to the superheroes bound in chains: "But they're innocent. Let them go first. Is that a reasonable condition?"

Wanda paused for two seconds, then nodded.

The chains loosened, but not entirely—she left Pietro behind.

Quicksilver, who had been trapped in the spider web, finally broke free and stumbled to his feet, running to Wanda's side.

Peter glanced at Quicksilver's muscular frame, which looked like it could be slapped away at any moment, and raised an eyebrow: "Are you sure you want him to stay here?"

Wanda frowned: "He's my brother."

"Yes, so I'm reminding you—the aftershocks of our fight could turn your brother into mincemeat. If you don't care, then go ahead."

Quicksilver's face turned pale instantly.

Although he wasn't entirely sure just how strong this guy named Peter was, he had clearly seen Wanda turn Gravik into a pile of mush. The commotion from those two monsters fighting... he, a fragile character who relied on speed, definitely couldn't withstand it.

"Wanda, he has a point." Quicksilver, unusually astute, said, "My presence might hold you back."

Wanda gritted her teeth and finally loosened the chains binding Quicksilver.

"I stayed."

A voice came from the side.

Gwen stepped forward, golden energy swirling around her, and the three-day shield of resistance automatically deployed.

Peter turned to look at her.

"The three-day shield can isolate the aftershocks of the battle. And—" Gwen looked into Peter's eyes, without saying anything grand or righteous, but simply added, "I just want to stay."
