Chapter 325 The End of the War and a New Crisis

The battlefield fell into a deathly silence as they looked at Gravik's body lying on the ground.

Not only did the battlefield become deathly silent, but the entire world seemed to be silenced for a full three seconds, as if a silencing spell had been cast upon it.

Three seconds later, a barrage of comments appeared on the live stream.

"Dead...dead? Just like that, he died?"

"Holy crap, that was fast! I thought that big boss was going to be some big shot, and he's gone already?"

"I suddenly feel a bit sorry for that green-skinned monster... He went through so much trouble to come up with a bunch of plans, only to be kicked to death by the lady in red like a dog on the street."

"Wait, just who is this Scarlet Witch? Aren't her abilities a bit too outrageous?"

"Yes, this ability is so powerful that I doubt even the Arbiter himself could withstand such a bizarre magical attack, let alone other superheroes."

On the battlefield of Chernobyl, the remaining eight hundred-odd Super Skrull soldiers, upon witnessing the horrific state of Gravik, completely shattered their remaining morale.

Some of the die-hards still wanted to fight to the death, but when they met Wanda's crimson eyes, all their courage vanished in an instant.

That woman dealt with her own general more easily than crushing an ant.

Behind her stood an adjudicator who never made a move.

"A fight to the death?" What kind of "fight"?

Even if those small fry smash themselves into fish balls, they still can't break through this net!

In that instant, a young Skrull soldier's knees buckled, and he uncontrollably collapsed to his knees.

Then came the second, the third, the tenth, and the hundredth.

In the blink of an eye, all the Super Skrull soldiers who were still standing were kneeling on the ground.

This scene left Tony and the others completely bewildered.

"Hey, Arbitrator, how should we handle this situation?" Harry couldn't help but turn around and ask Peter.

"They all surrendered. Isn't it inappropriate for us to broadcast the killing of prisoners of war live in front of a global audience?"

Gwen couldn't help but speak up:

"Yes, Arbitrator... Sir, although they are all aliens, now that they have given up resisting, shouldn't we stop killing them? That would be against the spirit of humanity."

Sif and Daisy held opposing views to Gwen and Harry's proposal:

"These aliens invaded Earth first, so even if we kill them all, it would just be self-defense."

"Yes, there is an old Chinese saying: 'Those who are not of our kind will surely have different hearts.' Any one of these guys could pose an irreparable threat to our ordinary people if they were to escape."

Hearing the two sides' drastically different attitudes, Peter was momentarily at a loss.

He, like Daisy, believed that those who are not of his kind must have different intentions, but his wife was a typical non-killer.

Is it really necessary for me to create conflict in my relationship with Gwen for the sake of this bunch of scoundrels?

Just as Peter was struggling with his decision, a commotion arose from the edge of the battlefield.

They were a group of thin Skrulls!

But unlike the super soldiers on the battlefield, these people did not undergo gene fusion experiments; they were thin and ragged.

At this moment, his hands were tied behind his back and strung together with ropes, and he was being dragged along like an animal.

The leader was a short, elderly Skrull.

It was Talos, whom Peter had met once before.

Beside Talos were Captain America, Hawkeye, Prowler, Banner, and others who had been captured by Gravik and his crew.

When they were about twenty paces away from Peter, Talos did not hesitate at all and immediately knelt down in front of Peter.

As he did so, his kinsmen all knelt down.

He respectfully touched the ground with his forehead.

"Your Excellency the Arbiter..." Talos's voice was hoarse.

"Please allow me, on behalf of all the Skrulls who still have a conscience, to apologize to you and to all the humans on Earth who have been harmed by Talos."

As Talos kowtowed, he recounted incessantly how he had been controlled by the rebels led by Gravik.

Despite his vehement condemnation of Gravik, he was imprisoned and could only watch helplessly as Gravik led his people to their doom.

After playing the victim, Talos kowtowed heavily to the ground and solemnly declared:

"As the leader of the Skrulls, I am willing to atone with my death!"

"But please spare the lives of the remaining innocent members of our tribe."

"I don't expect you to find us a new home according to the previous agreement, nor do I expect you to let us stay on Earth."

"I, Talos, swear here and now that if you spare them, my people will immediately leave this earth and guarantee that they will never set foot on it again in this lifetime!"

Talos's words caused a clear polarization in the global online comments.

"A way out? By what right? Your people almost blew thirteen cities to the sky!"

"That's true, but look at those elderly people and children... they are innocent victims too."

"I suggest they all be executed; if you don't nip it in the bud, it will grow back in the spring!"

"But he said he was willing to leave Earth and exile himself. Besides, what they have left are no longer a threat, are they?"

The comments section was a chaotic mess, but everyone knew that the final decision rested with only one person.

Peter glanced at Talos, then at the group of Skrull civilians huddled together behind him, and finally fixed his gaze on the Mantis.

The Mantis understood, stepped forward, and gently placed her hand on Talos's head.

A few seconds later, Mantis withdrew her hand and nodded to Peter:

"He was serious. There was no deception, no pretense. He only felt guilt towards Earth and a desire for his people to survive."

Peter nodded slightly upon hearing this, then looked at Talos and said:

Get up.

Talos looked up, his blood-stained face showing disbelief.

"Those people of your race around you can leave Earth alive." Peter's tone was flat, as if he were talking about something insignificant.

"I can send you to Xandar. The Nova Corps is my friend, and they will be willing to provide you with a place to settle."

Upon hearing this, Talos was so moved that he repeatedly kowtowed to Peter.

"Thank you, Your Excellency, forgiving and merciful judge."

"From this day forward, the Skrulls will forever remember the Judge's kindness. If any of our people dare to break the agreement, you need not lift a finger; I, Talos, will deal with it myself."

Peter didn't say anything more, but simply waved his hand at him, signaling him to lead his people to the side.

Thus, the conflict between the Skrulls and humans, which had lasted for months, finally came to an end.

The barrage of comments and cheers from all over the world came almost at the same time.

"We won?! We won?!"

"Long live the arbitrators!!!"

Just as everyone was celebrating the victory in the war, Gwen's spider sense was suddenly triggered.

Spider-Senses—Danger!

The moment Gwen reacted, crimson energy chains silently shot up from the ground, instantly binding the bodies of all the superheroes on the battlefield.

The smiles on the faces of viewers around the world froze the moment they saw this scene…
