Marvel: I became an ancestor by sacrificing offerings.

Chapter 303 Star-Lord: He's criticizing me!

Xandar, after the banquet.

"OMG!"

As soon as Star-Lord was invited to step onto the deck of the Destiny, he was deeply impressed by the luxurious interior design:

"Wait, buddy, are you sure this is a spaceship and not some kind of mobile palace?"

Rocket Raccoon, carrying a gun, had his eyes practically glued to the energy lines on the wall, his little face etched with greed—if he could steal some of these and sell them, he could definitely make a fortune.

Gamora gave him a cold look. "Don't touch anything. I'm doing this for your own good."

"Of course I know, I'm just admiring it."

The rocket extended its claws and touched a metal panel.

The next second, a robotic arm appeared out of nowhere and lifted him into the air.

Rocket jumped up and down, clutching its claws, yelling, "Damn it! It dared to attack me!"

Peter, leading Sif, walked towards them from the front, not at all surprised to see this scene.

"Friendly reminder: the Destiny's security system doesn't really like thieves."

The rocket glared at him. "Who's the thief? This is just the spirit of an engineer's exploration!"

Star-Lord patted Rocket on the shoulder: "Bro, admit it, the look on your face just now practically screamed that I wanted to raid your base."

Drax nodded seriously: "His face is too small to fit so many words."

Groot shrugs: "I am Groot!"

Looking at this group of goofballs, Sif couldn't help but turn around and ask, "Are you sure you want to bring them along?"

Peter smiled and said:

"Taking them along is much more efficient than us wandering around aimlessly on our own."

As he spoke, he leaned close to her ear mysteriously and said...

"Believe it or not, I'll take them away, and someone will come knocking on our door later, inviting us to go and fight a giant octopus."

Sif raised an eyebrow. "A giant octopus?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Star-Lord's communicator rang.

Star-Lord glanced down and his expression immediately turned strange.

Rocket immediately moved closer, "Who?"

Star-Lord read aloud, "High Priestess of the Sovereigns, Ayesha."

Rocket scoffed, "That idiotic race, covered in gold and expecting everyone to kneel before them?"

Gamora cautioned, "While their arrogance is offensive, you have to admit they are all very generous."

As soon as she finished speaking, Star-Lord immediately connected to the projection communication.

The projection appeared before everyone, showing a woman with golden skin and an arrogant demeanor sitting on a throne.

Her gaze swept over Star-Lord and the others first, and she said coldly:

Yondu told me you are a powerful mercenary group.

"The Soverein's Anvil energy cell is being invaded by an alien creature."

"We need someone to clean it up."

Upon hearing about Anville batteries, Rocket Raccoon's eyes lit up. "How much is the commission?"

Ayesha looked at him with a natural disdain, "The reward will satisfy a lowly creature like you."

"Hey, sister, if you want to do business, you should offer a reasonable price in advance to persuade us. That's the rule," Star-Lord said as calmly as possible.

Ayesha gave him a haughty look, then turned the camera away.

The projection then showed a bald girl with blue skin and half of her body mechanically modified.

"nebula?!"

Gamora was startled and instinctively grabbed Star-Lord's hand excitedly.

"Who is that?" Star-Lord couldn't help but ask.

Gamora replied, "My sister."

Rocket immediately raised his paw, "So the mission reward has changed from money to trouble? I object!"

Drax replied earnestly, "Family is very important."

Groot nodded: "I am Groot."

Star-Lord glanced at Gamora, then at Peter, and seeing Peter nod, he decisively ignored Rocket's objections and spoke:

"We'll take this task."

Seeing that the Rockets were about to jump up and hit his knee again, he quickly added:

"But we want other compensation, at least this much!"

Ayesha still wore that disdainful expression:

"You're a bunch of lowly creatures who can't even be brought to the table. I agree to your terms."

After saying that, he cut off the call.

This gave everyone a target for their mission—Sovelin.

……

After several jumps, the Destiny arrived at the energy mines of Sovereign.

Rows of golden buildings float in space, and the matrix of Anville energy cells radiates a dazzling light.

In the center of the matrix, a gigantic, multi-tentacle monster was lying on the energy vent, devouring everything in its path.

Sif looked out the window and couldn't help but gasp:

"It really is a giant octopus."

The Guardians of the Galaxy didn't hear her murmur and jumped out of the spaceship one by one.

Seeing this, Peter smiled and offered his blessing:

"Good luck to you."

Star-Lord froze. "Aren't you going to join in?"

"I'll just watch the show."

Peter sat down at the command post. "I won't get involved unless you can't handle it."

The Rockets sneered, "Don't underestimate us, we're professionals."

Ten minutes later.

Outside the energy platform, Star-Lord was flung away by the tentacles, crashing into the golden shield and sliding down.

Drax was laughing hysterically while holding a tentacle, only to be dragged around the platform three times.

The rocket gun was firing enthusiastically, but each shot was just tickling the monster.

Gamora was swift and clean, severing several tentacles in succession, but the monster's regeneration speed was ridiculously fast.

Groot was responsible for plugging the cable back in, repeatedly shouting, "I am Groot!"

Seeing this hilarious scene, Sif held back for a long time but finally couldn't help but ask, "You really aren't going to help?"

Peter, holding a drink, said, "Don't rush, it's still early, and they're not as bad as you think."

Sure enough, everything that happened next was exactly the same as the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in Peter's mind.

Gamora successfully defeated the giant octopus, and the Destroyer, covered in slime, burst out of the creature's body, yelling:

"I killed him from the inside."

Star-Lord couldn't help but complain:

"You didn't do anything."

Then, the group successfully met Nebula, and Rocket, not to be outdone, stole the battery.

A few minutes later, the alarm sounded on the Destiny.

The Soverein fleet rushed in from a distance, and all its cannons locked onto the Destiny at the same time.

Ayesha's projection reappeared, her arrogance turning into anger.

"Inferior creatures, how dare you steal the Sovereign's most precious energy battery."

Rocket immediately hid his backpack behind his back, exclaiming, "Slander! She's slandering me!"

Ayesha said coldly, "Hand over the battery, then accept your execution."

Star-Lord turned to Rocket. "You stole it?"

The Rockets retorted confidently, "I'm doing this to prevent them from defaulting on their debts!"

Gamora shouted angrily, "They've already paid!"

The Rockets shouted, "That's double charging!"

Peter leaned back in his chair, his smile growing wider and wider.

Star-Lord looked at him in disbelief. "Dude, you're still laughing? They're going to turn us into space junk!"

Peter looked up at the distant starry sky. "Don't panic."

Sif followed his gaze.

The Soverein fleet's cannons were already firing.

But further away, a silvery-white light pierced through the void, rapidly approaching this battlefield.

Peter stood up and patted Star-Lord on the shoulder.

"Your dad's here~"

How is this considered a personal attack? What did I do to offend you?
